How did it work?
Don't the Japanese's have different phillips j.I.s.?
Nice Vee hick kel.
sounds odd new engine thennnnn pcm goes sounds like grounds to me possibly just a good guess I guessss
yes, it does actually sound suspicious, I'll admit, but all powers and grounds were checked x 5, and all related grounds are very easily replaced, way easier than truck, they're bundled right in front of you! can/bus multi connectors all checked as well. I'm pretty sure just removing the PCM and reinstalling it was enough to set it off. Since she just bought it there's not any history. I can tell you these computers have serious issues.
mate looks like yer missing a floor mat
Where in the hell are you going to find that ecm .318 v8 maybe but v6 good luck
Dam you confused me but I’m so interested I love how technical you got
Put some fuel in it I want to see. the s squirt .are you ready for a 3 barrel Honda?
Using some 400 grit sandpaper and a #2 pencil to polish the bore and clean with Q-Tips then i use seal glide a high temp silicone grease on the o- ring and just about all orings ,anyway and havent had any problems either and do get a snap .... Just my humble opinion and experience. Hope i didn't step on any ones toes . And it's an acceptable comment.
Sooooo.. the fix for the wrong o-ring is the right o-ring. Brilliant!
I literally had to change on on a GMC today. It doesnt seat easily AT ALL I had to push so freaking hard with lots of grease
That's a much better way than using a screwdriver. I need to get that flaring tool.
thats actually called a bubble flaring tool
Why don't TH-camrs check that the compulsory subtitles are actually correct? It makes the OP look stupid when they're wrong.
That’s a caption , not a subtitle , probably was tired
I have never had that issue been a mechanic for 18 years now, but I’m sure now that I said this I’ll see that issue every fucking day
18 WHOLE years? ^^
@ yeah and what’s the problem i’m 31 years old

@@jakepowell8428 LOLZ AIRCRAFT MECHANIC SINCE 1980 LITTLE MAN. gfy
@@jakepowell8428 Arrogant younglings? Golly. At least be original. Aircraft mechanic since ten years b4 you were born.
I haven't not been able to tap them in. It's supposed to be tight so if it's just sliding right in then it's probably not right enough. Certainly never try to force anything in with the fastener on one mount systems. Just tap it in with a dead blow. But it should certainly be tighter than that to keep contaminant out. If that hole gets resting while me I guess you can just run it through the drill or hone it or some sandpaper but all the same it's going to rust that whole thing in there and you're going to have a hell of a time getting it out.
Petroleum jelly will make the o ring swell. They make o-ring lube. Maybe it won't be a problem with the nitrile ones since they're chemical resistant... But why I use AC o-rings on a job like that?
I agree. Petroleum grease can react with plastics and rubbers. When dealing with plastic and rubber, I would go with a silicone grease.
Could you tell me what one is shift solenoid b by any chance I’m having trouble locating it
Hope there was something good about the van from what i could see everything looked good except the coolant jug.
I just finished replacing the old rod knocking engine. It was overheated and new green coolant was put in and sold to an unsuspecting buyer, and misrepresented. Unfortunately, and commonly it was bought for it's external looks, and not pre-checked. She was ready to take it "on the road" but kept hearing an engine related knocking, especially when starting cold, and under any load. I didn't pull any rod/main bearing caps for evidence as the oil pump pickup screen was so plugged with bearing/piston shrapnel. I replaced all cooling system related parts (radiator, water pump, fan clutch, tstat and outlet, all coolant hoses) as well as ever leaking intake plenum plate gasket (oil vapor/vacuum leaks). Of course the reman long block fixed the rest of the problems. (excellent rebuild, from Maryland)!
Whoever stole that car should be ashamed of themselves
Is the frame cracked?
Gilligan stop talking about crack and just try and learn from the mechanic who's been trying to teach you how to work on vehicles with some very good points .... just trying to establish good edicate...
Good point on the cork as well as the RTV in the corners but I humbly believe most in ultra Grey and just put a little generous bead alet it set up a little bit and gently set the intake in place and haven't had a problem either . Glad u posted this Gunter . Give me call when u get a chance Aloha from Chris's still on the big island of Hawaii 😎
I use a winch.
Lol I have done this many times. And don't listen to the moron talking about Normal Hours I do all my work at night too.
The new fel-pro end gaskets aren't like the old rubber ones, which, yes do blow out over time. The new ones are steel embossed nitrile, which when crushed firm a solid seal. Huge improvement.
Loose the rubber and make a 1/4 inch wall of gasket maker, follow the instructions on the back, way better, that rubber will leak after time
No permatex in the corners?
I did mention the rtv/silicone in the very end of the video. Sorry was talkin kinda fast
Once again that's silicone/rtv in all 4 corners of those end gaskets.
If you had normal hours help would be available
This will work in daylight also
Looks just like my old 09 Tacoma that had the throttle motor stick twice before I received the recall . I put 111,000 miles on it in 3 yrs here on the big island of Hawaii, looking back I say to myself amazing how things happen......
No need for a new one just need to give it a good whack!
No Ford tool ?
OEM tool! (as in the "OEM" company as their name). Actually a better tool than the harbor freight tool.
Or maybe it's an old system from the back of your shop.
You bet!
Oil those threads
Yes, but still no real access with any ratchet, as still no swing room. Easier outside.
I believe you have to go through the cab and remove the carpet by removing the plastic trim pieces that hold it in place. Not the best design
Only partial compression, about 1 ". Works just fine, as you can see.
Not the right tool
i used a 32 mil wrench worked way easier than trying to use a socket and wratchet
I like that , like a spoon in a bowl of soup !!!! That's a common issue .... Aloha Gunter !!!
Lots of labor
Good news update, aftermarket available /Dorman, about $80 online,
Juan guillotine. U really think saying anything negative is going to help you or anyone else u silly gold digger that can't handle a woman that's more intelligent and probably more comfortable financially than you what's wrong with this picture you silly fuck
Centric brakes you cheap skate i use them too!
3.9 in a van, first if all. Kinda small for a big van. Second, most of the 3.9's I see are in the local you-pull. This one was a knocker, weak bottom end. Pump pickup screen had much metal and big chunks of trash on it. 150k miles. Not too sludge, I think it may have run hot, at some time, that's all it takes. No history, she just got it.
Gunter , I have the same engine in my 98 dodge dakota with a standard 5spd I'm curious why the old motor failed . And if maintained properly about how many miles do you believe is possible to get out of a 3.9 v6 Daily driver driven hard but maintained alot . Thanks for all the points 👉 on tube doing great stuff.... Aloha from the big island 🏝 of Hawaii
Last one still running
How many miles?
