Yo man how did you put in the lower middle bolt in? I am having such a bad time aligning them
Great question, are referring to the one in the center/front fairing behind the front wheel? It should all line up. I didn't have any issues. All fairings I used were original aside from the light cowl ones. Sometimes aftermarket fairings don't align properly. I've had that problem in the past. That's why I try to get them OEM.
Can we ask if it’s held up? Any flaking or fading?
@@jerometheband held up pretty good for spray paint. The only thing is it can get very light scratches from fingernails on areas. It will never replace real vinyl but 60% close. I wasn't expecting to. I'm happy with the results.
Cant wait to see your build videos again. I just got a 77 liftback a few weeks ago and i plan on restoring it and putting a 6.2 LS in it
@@tomhavenda5294Badass, Thanks, I've been dying to make new videos. I haven't lost interest. I live in a place where they don't let you work on cars so I have to find a spot where I can work on the Liftback. I pretty much have everything I need to put it together. Congrats on the 77 Liftback. If you need anything or have any questions hit me up!
I tried this exact process but it didn't taste like cinnamon at all - more like burnt rubber and chemicals.
Lol 😆
Hey nice build.. im having a issue with my ra24. I put a celica supra rear end on and now my drivers side wheel is sticking out more than my passenger side. I bought an adjustable panhard bar but im not sure if its going to help.. any suggestions. Im thinking i may need to cut my factory one like you did to make it adjustable.
Thanks bro, getting there slowly. If your rear end sticks out more on one side than the other then an adjustable Pan hard bar can help you align it as long as your spring perches, 4 link brackets and all the suspension lines up.
Hows the swap comming along?!
Hi Brother, sorry I haven't posted any vids. I had a death in the family and had to stop for a little while. Getting back at it soon! 😏 I promise.
So clean with brush, push back coolant fin line with pick, then what's the name of the putty and the type of solder please?
It's not putty, it's soldering paste/flux and soldering wire and a torch.
What do you need the backing music in a repair video for? It just annoying.
Thanks for the feedback. I'm learning as I go and have stopped using background music on my recent videos. I appreciate you!

That engine looks killer! Black and gold is a great choice, love how much the valvecovers pop. Interesting idea with relocating the radiator cap, curious to see how that works out, never seen one like that before.
@cjs2000cs Thanks! I am trying to take the ideas I have in my head and transfer them to the car. LOL Every Time I remember something, I purchase whatever I need. Next video I will be working on the MAF sensor housing. I'll attempt to polish it. That's gonna be learning experience.

Thanks! Once we fully seat the engine and exhaust we will jump on the wiring. Appreciate the support!
Hey man keep up the videos! Plan on putting a z6 in my 80 hatch myself. Your videos are a big help.
We will try! Larry Jr. found himself a job so we can continue funding the project. Thanks for your support!
Hey! Where do you get the fairing? thank you!
Hi I got them from EBAY!
Hey man I have an ae86 and just picked up a Ra22. How easy was it to transfer over the crossmember? Also what engine are you running
Hi bro, it's not hard. Just have to drill some holes and add spacers depending on what engine you plane to run. I'm doing a 1UZFE out of a 94 Lexus LS400 with an Mustang Cobra M112 Supercharger. Slow progress tho. I'll try to upload a nother video soon! Thanks for subscribing! Means a lot!
I put a straight pipe on my R1 and noticed a loss of back pressure. More torque when I put a regular pipe on
Not sure why that happened Manny, I had the power commander on it and had no issues.
Got any hookups for fairings?? Mine are garbage and I cant find any for less than $500
Sweet project yo! I'll be zoomed in on this build. Hopefully I can gain some insights to help me with my build. Cheeeese!
Awesome brother, sorry for the late reply! Hope my troubleshooting helps you with your build! I'll try to upload some more vids soon. Thanks for subscribing!
Why would u reuse the fluids might as well change them but thanks for the video I needed help putting back my radiator because all those wires
Thanks for commenting. I don't remember saying I was gonna re-use the fluids but if I did I apologize. I actually purchased Engine Ice and filled it up with one 1/2 gallon container for $20. I did recover the old antifreeze and bottled it so no animals die if they ingest it. Engine Ice worked great and bike ran cooler than other years I've had in the past. 😁👍🏼
@@larrysheran make it into a stunt bike
Which color did you use?
Cinnamon Brown 🟤 BMW
I assume you drained it comepletelly but is it fine for some residue of the coolant to remain?
I drained mine completely to fix it, then installed it, added distilled water and ran the bike for about 4 min then drained it again. After that, I filled it up with Engine Ice. About $20 per jug. I used a jug and a quarter. What coolant are you planning to use?

Last night I watched your engine rebuild slideshow and all that hard work you did. So was surprised to see this next video you guys taking it out to sell it! What's up with that? :-)
I know.. It's one of those life choices were my son and I debated on more horse power. We have decided to do an engine swap on the Celica. We have not yet decided on what engine will go in. To fund this we were obligated to sell the Rebuilt 20R but not only for money reasons. We wanted to make sure it went to a good home so I ended up selling the whole setup (Engine/Trans) to a great guy who is working on a 1976 Hilux. I know it's sad to see it go but trust me we gave it a lot of thought. On the bright side it will give us an opportunity to create more content for you. 😉 🤜🏼🤛🏼 😁 Check out today's video for the Part 2 engine removal at 10AM PT.
@@larrysheran Good on you, tough choices for sure. The original motor I believe only produced like 95hp. Frankly I couldn't beat anything. Tried against MG's, Triumphs, Datson's, Capri's and then gave up trying. So I want to do an upgrade for sure, just not sure what to do yet. Will watch your progress and what other folks have done in order to learn.
@@77celicagk Thanks, I know these engines were supposed to be Economy oriented. It just sucks that a "sports car" made to compete with US market was so slow. Lol I'm gonna be working on suspension and interior prep. Rust removal and sound deadening. My goal is to have this car as a rolling chassis so it be ready by the time I decide on what engine will go in it. I'm gearing more towards a 1UZ since parts are affordable and there are plenty. Everything will go in from under the car. Good things are coming as far as content goes. Thanks! If you have any advice let me know. I'm always open to learn and change the way I do my videos.
Great your were able to recover these pictures. You guys did a heck of a lot of fine work here! Could not believe the condition of the cylinders and valves with all the gunk and rust in there! Car must have been sitting for a long time and outside in high humidity or something? I am no engine expert but gather you had to re-bore, did you have to put larger pistons?
It was a pain in the butt, severe corrosion, etc.. same size pistons, used stock Toyota Valves since miraculously they were in great shape. We did have to weld the head's coolant ports/passages and then die grind them to shape. It worked out pretty good for a 40+ engine. Lol
Bravo!
Thanks!! @77celicagk You Rock!!
Bravo, meticulous work but well worth it.
Thanks, feel free to ask any questions. We are here to work together. Wish you luck on your build!!
Very nice car, and even nicer to see you doing this restore with your son. Best wishes! Will be watching and asking questions when I get to restoring mine.
I'm learning this whole youtube thing. Little by little videos will be getting better. All of this thanks to feedback like yours. My son is happy, I'm happy and hoping we can make y'all happy too. We will have some fun videos next week. We will be playing with the door cards, removing sound deadening, etc.. Thanks again for your support!! You rock!
Nice! reminds me of my car when I did it. Yours is cleaner than mine.
I call these Celica's "Rusted Piles of Gold" lol Thanks for the support! I Really appreciate it.
Hola
Hola Princess!!
Did you ever have any issues with this repair in the future?? Deciding on doing this or buying new radiator
Hi Luis, Never! It worked super well. I actually was so impressed that the money I saved that I bout 2 Jugs of Engine Ice and did a complete flush. Now bike runs awesome temps. One thing I will recommend and this is crucial. Make sure you pick out the the hole with a little fine pick like you see me do and also clean very well around it so it will retain the flux and give you a proper solder. Let me know if you have any more questions. Hope I could be of help. Thanks for liking and subscribing!
yo larry how much did you end up paying after fees and all?
Around $3600 approx. I'll get you a more accurate number when I review the paperwork later today.
Here is a video of the bidding + about $600 in fees a tow expenses since I don't own a pickup truck. th-cam.com/video/6dGUZKUYnM4/w-d-xo.html
Larry Sheran I think I overbid on a 03 r6 on copart with 38k on the dash
@@ThatOneCubanKid Sorry to hear that pal. How much did you pay? Those go for around $1000 to $1500 depending on the damage and the State you buy in.
Larry Sheran I payed 1800 after all the fees. And I still needed to repair it
I like your videos man! Where you get the fairing kit? I have the same bike in a 15' Raven color way. Looking to switch up the fairings soon.
Thanks Rodney you're awesome. I buy them pretty much everywhere. OfferUp, LetGo, Ebay, FB Market Place, etc.. you just have to shop around for good deals and negotiate them with the seller. I was lucky I only needed some random OEM ones since the bike wasn't that damaged. I will be uploading more videos soon. Just waiting for this CoronaVirus to be over so I can Purchase another bike to rebuild and document it. Thanks again for the compliment. You rock!
Why not let us hear it?.....
Thanks Caleb, just an update. Sorry for that but the reason why I didn't get a chance to do a video of the bike exhaust is cause shortly after I finished the rebuild some guy ran a stop sign and I ended up crashing the bike. I have somewhat recovered physically from the accident and I'm in the process of purchasing another bike from Copart and will document its rebuild process. My apologies for no sound video and appreciate your feedback. Thanks!
