I link a sneak preview to our music in an email the week before the service so that people can sing along, and prefer using the lyrics version of all the songs I include. I've loved the music of Michael Card for many years. Started watching a teaching he did on Laments today. He talks of how lamenting is a form of worship, in that we are free to come to Almighty God with our sorrow, anger, and confusion. God then takes our words and thoughts and causes us to understand. Job's Suite has been a favorite of mine, Death of a Son also. I now realize that this tune shows Jesus as he laments before God, yet still trusts Him and is obedient in finishing his task here on earth. Thank you for this wonderful post.
