I'm a Filipino. And I also have the same reaction when Lisa said, they changed the age of statutory rape from 12 to 16. I was like, "what? From 12 to 16? Isn't 12 a better age to impose legal action for statutory rape than 16?" Can someone explain deliberately & extensively what Lisa exactly meant?
any adult engaging in sexual contact with anyone 16 or under would be committing statutory rape. Sexual consent in the philippines was 12 years old any adult engaging in sexual contact 12 yrs old under will only be considered as a statutory rape that means you can have a sexual relationship with 13, 14 and 15 yrs olds. When liza said that they raise the staturory rape to 16 yrs old it means that you cannot have a sexual relationship with 16 yrs old under that means you cannot have a sexual relationship with 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15 years olds.

True 'cause Philippines is composed mostly of young population. Politically, the term "old" or "young" country refers to the majority of a country's population with regards to age. Like for example: Germany, Japan, South Korea, & Thailand are old countries because of their aging population.
It is the same as the tall, dark and handsome phrase the "dark" in it refers to the intensity of the hair color rather than about the skin tone same as "young country" the "young" because of the high proportion of the young population in that country
