love all the thumbs down but clark was bang on correct. this video was done at the all time high in gold at about 1900 a ounce. about 4 years later gold is down about 50% while the stock market is up 50%. clark is wrong about one thing though, gold is NOT a hedge against inflation. gold is simply a store of value and nothing more. all you idiots who worship the gold bar have lost your fucking ass over the past few years and you're getting exactly what you deserve

Historically, libertarian and anarchist were considered one and the same. I speak of a 19th century tradition. Libertarian and Anarchy began to separate in the 20th century mostly as libertarians made a political alliance with anti communist cold warriors to adopt a more rightwing political feel out of fear of the red menace. Anarchists as a result of political and the labor struggle of the late 19th and early 20th century were crushed and went underground. Rothbard and Hess opened a window into this historical perspective of the two and it's this re-emergence in our time that is helping to spur on the current conversation of just what is a libertarian or anarchist and bring both back into open discussion. From the late Sam Konkin's Agorism to Gary Chartier's "Conscience of an Anarchist" the discussion only grows. Another problem for both libertarians and anarchists is the fact that more often than not the terms are used with adjectives as a type qualifier. Anarcho-Capitalist being one example among many. Anarchy means "no rulers" nothing more fancy or sophisticated than that. An adjective attached seems to me could be sending a message that contradicts the premise of "no rulers" in the first place but that is obviously open for debate. If we agree on the premise of no rulers, NAP, etc. what you do with your life after that, I don't care making adjectives as a purely wasted exercise IMO.. Libertarian and Anarchy have rather simplistic definitions that most people might be able to relate too and even appreciate in action in their own daily lives albeit they don't call it such. Many folks who already believe in the idea of a limited small state, minarchism (another form of adjective) if you will, would also agree with the idea of what is called self governance and/or individualism or self ownership. Take self governance one more step and don't you arrive at the concept of no rulers? If yes, is that not anarchy in it's historical form? Keep up the good work Rich. These "food for thought" videos are excellent for the average individual to begin to have a conversation with themselves on this subject.

Cobb County is GOP dominated and yet we have our welfare systems too. Crony or State Capitalism as opposed to real free market economics which is what the GOP is NOT all about. They are expert at hiding behind the language however. The GOP has little difference from the neo-liberal agenda of the democrat party IMO. A "private/corporate" tyrant can be just as evil as a public one. Good video Rich. If you are unfamiliar with Edward Bernays, Ivey Lee, Walter Lippmann and the history of propaganda otherwise now known as public relations, you might look into that history. You'll better "appreciate" (wink wink) those flashy, glossy mailers you got. As too the movie industry in Georgia, watch the news and see how heavily state and local subsidized it is.

One option is to reclaim the word libertarian. I quite often refer to myself as such and very few people have a problem with it because they tend to equate it with a belief in small government, but the way I see it when one calls them self a libertarian they are saying that adhering to NAP and respect for property rights are of primary virtue. What logically follows can of course be shown to be that which is good and beneficial. As a matter of fact it is how we interact almost all the time on a daily basis.

Okay, so if I live in Cobb, I want to 1) recruit people who vote at the same place as me to go with me to the precinct mass meeting at Roswell Street Baptist Church, February 9 at with registration starting at 8:30 (with pre-registration available at the Cobb GOP's website) and the mass meeting starting at 10am sharp. 2) At the precinct meeting, try to get myself and my friends elected precinct officer. 3) Get myself and friends elected delegate to the county convention.
