It could be because the spool is smaller. An mgl 70 with a 7.4 ratio only has 2 more inces per turn than a Curado 200 M 6.2. The mgl 70 at 8.4:1 has the same inch per turn spec as a 7.4:1 Curado 200. So as far as retrieve speed, the 7.4 mgl 70 is comparable to the 6.2:1 for the 200. I'm all for more choices, but I don't need a smaller mgl 70.

@ the inch per turn depends on both the gear ratio and the diameter of the spool. So a wider or deeper spool with the same diameter can hold more line while maintaining the same inches per turn.

@@Bassin513 You're probably right. I used it for the first time last week and got it hung up in some grass. After snapping the rod a few times I got it out, and when I got it back to the boat, both of those 'claws' were torn off. 🙄😅

From one day of fishing the hook keepers did great, they didn’t move, my line didn’t get stuck. They didn’t get in my way when using my combos. Overall I like them so far

Interesting hunk it’s just a drop shot with heavier gear. Like braid and baitcaster instead of a spinning rod with lighter line.

Thanks for watching, pretty much drop shot on a bait caster. Bigger baits, normally weedless hooks and heavy weights. I always called it drop shot if I use spinning or bait caster but apparently the correct name is power shot

Thanks for watching, no item on top of my head. The issue I have now it will work all the way out then when I leave I have to unhook the connecter from truck then turn truck on and plug back in. If I don’t do those steps my lights will not work. My guess would be a ground or run new wires back to the lights on the outside of the frame to see if you have some wierd touching issues
