Rotten Roof!
In this video I will be starting the process of saving this roof on this 1977 Oldsmobile Cutlass. We will also be putting the body on a Rotisserie. The roof is very rusty and in very poor condition. This car has t-tops and they have been leaking for years. This roof was also a vinyl top roof so there is plenty of rust from that. We will start the video with making the roof rigid. Then start working on the front window channel. I will be replacing all the rusted metal with new metal in the window channel and working our way up the roof. #automobile #hotrod #classiccars #chevrolet #oldsmobile #diy #mechanic #ford #rusty #dodge #ttop

I'm tackling another rusty car. This is a 1977 Oldsmobile Cutlass. This is a sentimental owner project. The owner bought this car new in 1977 and drove it for many years. she sold the car in the '90s and was lucky to recover it around 2010. however, The car sat outside under a tree in New York for many, many years. This led to lots of rust issues and in this episode I will be trying to eliminat...
Chevelle windshield flush mounted

We will be flush mounting a 1970 Chevelle windshield. I will be making an entire windshield frame to relocate the glass to be flush with the roof and A pullers. This is a great custom addition to this radical Twin Turbo Chevelle. #hotrod #chevrolet #musclecars #turbo #custom #chevelle #windshield #awesome

Patchwork Pontiac part 2
มุมมอง 7902 หลายเดือนก่อน
I'm back on the 1969 Pontiac Firebird. last week I started the process of installing the tail panel. this weekend I'm going to get it finished! I will also be putting the passenger side quarter panel patch panels in. I will always be patching the trunk weather stripping channel. It's time for some more hillbilly hackery. #automobile #pontiac #firebird #autobodyrepair #convertable

Making room for fender exit exhaust!
มุมมอง 2812 หลายเดือนก่อน
In this video I will be modifying the firewall. I will be cutting out a previous attempt at smoothing the firewall. I will also be cutting out some of the cowl area to make room for the fender exit exhaust. there is lots of metal work to do. This car is wild! It sits on a Roster shop frame with a Twin Turbo LS7 between the rails.

Why use the cd009 a t56 would be easier won’t it
Great work improvising
Thanks
Way to impressive
Thanks Brother
I wanted to go this year but looks like next year for sure! I hope to see you there
I'm planning on going next year as well. Make sure you give me a shout if you see me.
@@ForsakenSteel will do. I don’t know if I’ll be taking my 1978 F350 dually. It’s an old car hauler, 16’ flatbed….nice and low to the ground. Has a Gen 7 496 bbc with fuel injection and a 4L80e with overdrive. I literally just got it running right last week. I’m in SE Wisconsin and I think you’re from Michigan?
@@daviddenman7479 I love the old car haulers when they are good and low. There is an Earl 60's Ford (I think) Fire truck near me that I want to convert to a ramp truck. I actually live in Tennessee. Evidently I have turned my hillbilly down too much. 😂
I'm 16 and my dream car is a 69 GTO judge
That's an excellent dream car. 😎
Hello I just replaced my engine but it won’t start. Is there anything special I need to do to start it ?
Not that I'm aware of. I would start with pulling a coil pack and testing for spark. Then look to see what the fuel pressure is. Good luck sorry I couldn't be of more help. Also double check everything got plugged back in.
@@ForsakenSteel ok thank you I have read about the multi air valves needing to be prime after sitting
@@ElChupa_Cabra that can definitely happen. Can you let me know what it was when you get it running. I would be curious to see what it was.
@@ForsakenSteel yessir still tryna get into work I tried priming it a little and shot tons of oil out idk if Im supposed to keep doing that or what lol
@@ForsakenSteel welp could never get it running tried everything the junk yard said they would give me another one. I think the one I got was maybe bad. The car it came from had no crash damage..sooo either there for a bad motor or trans
That’s a lot of vice grips glad it worked out
It's all that we had at The shop except two. 😆
Its hard to tell from the video, you cant feel the metal but if looks like you ended up with a workable piece. You just need to spend some time with a hammer and dolly and planish that roof. it looks like you have a knot at the crown running from the passenger side to the driver side right where the sunroofs start to narrow, just ahead of the oilcanning. I have no idea how capable you are when it comes to metal work ive just ran across your video, i dont want to seem insulting at all. if you are having trouble getting the panel straight and taking the stretch out of the metal, i would recommend you check out Carl Fishers channel called "Make it kustom" he's got a lot of great visual explanations about straigtining metal, with a hammer and dolly and i think he's got one video about quenching with an acetaline tourch. He's been the only one on youtube ive ever ran across that ive seen explain things properly and easy, highly recommended.
This is some excellent advice. I have watched Carl on the Make it Custom channel several times. He is a true talent. I am definitely not as good as him but I'm not a novice either. I'm currently doing metal fab for a living ( for the past 8 months) and doing it everyday has helped me grow. I truly appreciate the advice and you are spot on with what was happening to the roof. I couldn't get to the back of the panel to use a hammer and dolly very well. I encourage you to watch next week's episode where I fix all this garbage. Thanks for watching and commenting I appreciate it more than you know.
That repair looks great. If you're trying to fix junk you have to expect a less-then-perfect repair. That roof clearly needed to be cutoff and start with a new straight replacement. It's the reality of the situation. My younger brother had an '81 Cutlass Supreme. Was a pretty solid car. Look forward to more. Be safe and stay well.
You are correct about having to lower expectations on repairs made to cars this rusty. I've got a soft spot for any T-top car. I've had a couple Cutass over the years and loved them all. Thanks for watching Brian.
It's coming along great, certainly a bit rusty, but I'm sure you can get it done, thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones
This is definitely one of the worst cars I've ever replied. It's coming along nicely but there's plenty more to fix. Thanks for watching Donald I appreciate all the support.
So nice to see this beautiful Cutlass being saved, especially a rare T top car. Huge job, but well worth it.
It's going to be a nice one when I get done. It was one of the worst cars I've ever repaired. Thanks for watching!
Love seeing another Olds get saved. Workin on a 73' Delta 88 at the moment.
Lots of work. But you are getting it done. Nothing that body work won’t fix. See you on the next one. 👍😎✌️
I'll get her all straightened out eventually. This is one of the rustiest cars I've ever repaired. Thanks for watching!
Awesome video brother. I would of sent that to the scrapyard as bad as that is. Keep the content coming. Hope you have an incredible night. Much love and RESPECT
If it had been mine I would have looked for a replacement. The owners have a sentimental attachment to this car. And if I've learned anything in the car business sentimental usually means expensive. Thanks for watching Tim I hope you have a great week.
Dang Brotha, I'm impressed you were able to get that sorted out!
Thanks Brother! The real skills will be shown in the next video. I appreciate all the support!
Why would you put oil treatment in the tranny? Why not use the transmission treatment from lucas? Idk everything, I'm genuinely asking.
Haven't even finished watching this video and it's already answered all my questions about my swap . Thank you
Well I'm glad there was some good information in the video. Thanks for watching!
music sucks
Thanks for noticing...
Great work on the Cutlass. The pickups are looking good. The Camaro is a crazy looking machine. The bronco looks really nice. It's gonna boogey!! Look forward to more. Be safe and stay well.
Thanks Brian, hope you are having a good weekend.
Lordy!
😆😆😆😆
Getting a lot done, should last another 60 year's 😊, thanks for sharing ,all the best to you and your loved ones
I won't last another 60 years so at least I won't have to be the one to fix it again. 😂 Thanks for watching Donald hope you have a great weekend!
You can trust the inside of the quarter
Very true
Add injured to your list of things to look forward to on Power Tour. I’m down. Not out. Bent badly but not completely broken. Humpty Dumpty Duster does power tour. 😂
Keep it together and just keep going. 😂 Hope the rest of the tour goes well for you. Thanks for watching!
Where are you getting the parts for the Cushman? Is there a company who stocks Cushman?
Try Googling Dennis Carpenter. He sells almost everything for Cushman scooters. Good luck with your project and thanks for watching!
Thank you for the video from Western Canada. Power Tour has been on my bucket list for years and if I do it will be done in my 72 C10.. I appreciate your candid down to earth thoughts and the advice you shared.
I definitely encourage you to take the trip. Thanks for watching, maybe I'll see you on the road.
The hair will grow back........sorry facial hair!!🤣😂😅 Kudos to you for doing that for your wife. Kudos to you and Corey on the windshield frame modifications. The fab work looks fantastic. Look forward to more. Be safe and stay well.
😆😆😆 Thanks buddy. Hope you are having a great week.
Great to have great memories back in our life.
As my time on this rock is starting to stack up. I really enjoy things that remind me of what has made me who I am today.
There are alot of channels on here with RCs brother. Looks us all up.
Brother, yea I'd like to see you rebuild it. There are alot of us on here with channels with RC cars. Mine is my swap for my grandkids. But I also started with my RCs again. I have 2 Sportwerks Mayhem 1/8 nitro offroad buggies and a 1/10 Traxxas Bandit and my wife has a old Tamiya van on a street car similar to that one. Good deal.
I'm planning on doing a video or two on it this coming winter. I'll have to check out some channels for sure. Thanks for watching.
@@ForsakenSteel YES sir!!!
That's awesome brother!!!! I just pulled my Mayhem 1/8 nitro buggies out of storage after 20 years. Getting 1 of my grandsons into it. Good times!!!
Good deal brother!! Thank you. I hope to go next year. It will be our first. My wife and grandkids are doing a Ls3 swap in a 03'Crown Vic Police Interceptor I bought from the Miami Police Auction back in Feb 2016. Has 170k miles on her now. Came across a Ls3 block for $500. OK I guess I'm doing a Ls3 swap lol. Blocks built. Have a stock harness and ECU out of a 09' Yukon 2wd. Either gonna run a 6L80E or 90E trans. The 90E trans I bought is half garbage lol. That's OK. There are others. I'm a ways from getting her done but in progress. A lot of great points brother. Thank you.
I subbed to your channel. A LS3 in a Crown Vic, sounds like a good time to me.
@ForsakenSteel Lol, thank you. I appreciate it. I have alot of people are me that are wanting to see this project complete. Especially at my local Chevy dealership. The employees nit the buisness lol.
Thanks brother! Love from Arkansas
I appreciate you watching.
These are some great tips and things to remember. I'm currently deployed, but hoping I can get my blown 70' Charger RT back together in time for 2025 once I get back!
First off, thanks for your service. Hopefully you'll get to make it next year. I'm not sure if I will make it next year but if I do I'll keep an eye out for that 70'.
Thanks man. I'm really worried about ole Humpty Dumpty Duster getting hot over time. The cooling system is all new, and we're carrying plenty of tools and stuff
The weather looks like it's going to be in your favor next week. Have a good time and be safe.
Great job, another step forward, thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones
The list is definitely getting shorter. Thanks for watching!
Are you around bradley co? We're coming out of loudon co. Rolling to the tour. See you there
I'm in Blount County but I'm not actually going this year. I'm trying to get my garage up before fall and start to build a home in the spring. I decided to set this year out. Thanks for watching and do a burnout for me.
Great video, Many, many great messages in this one. Ones that you can apply in many conditions/situations. Thanks for doing this. Look forward to more. Be safe and stay well.
Thanks for watching Brian, hope you have a great weekend.
Al ways liked the modern "flush look" but have never seen how its done. Good content, Thanks.
Awesome video brother. Thanks for sharing. Keep the content coming. Hope you have an incredible night. Much love and RESPECT brother
Thanks Tim!
That’s a heck of a welding table. 👍😎✌️
That's what I'm saying. 😂
Most times I take the thermostat out I cut the centre out and put the washer back in ,to slow the flow back down, as it would with the thermostat wide open, lot of great ideas, thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones
That's a good idea to keep the coolant from traveling too fast through the radiator. Thanks for watching as always. Hope you have a great weekend.
Sounds like solid advice. Thank you
Thanks, I appreciate it.
Great video.... the motel parking lots are wild!!!
