Pulp Cider with Jamie Oliver's Pork and Rhubarb (ish) Noodles.
มุมมอง 1033 ปีที่แล้ว
Here's our take on Jamie Oliver's storming Crispy Pork and Rhubarb noodles. We use our Pulp Rhubarb cider in place of plain old water, and when fresh rhubarb is out of season, we replace it with rhubarb and ginger jam - you've gotta try it!! Head to our blog for the full recipe:
Cider in our Hands by The Kilpecks
มุมมอง 6723 ปีที่แล้ว
Upbeat and original folk band The Kilpecks LOVE Celtic Marches cider! So much so, the band found inspiration for their latest single, Cider in our Hands, amongst the ancient cider apple trees and beneath the dappled autumnal light in our Herefordshire orchards. If, like us, you've been missing the festivals this year- the music, the community, a drink in the sun - then be transported back to th...

Remember very well as a child walking to the hop fields to pick hops with my mother, remember sitting in the cribs as they were called where the hops went and then the farm workers would come along and put them into big sacks with a wicker basket. These hop fields were in Ledbury near the River Leadon or the brook as we called it. They were great memorable days and long forgotten.

Hop picking machine! Progress I appreciate, however the family spirit was lost in the hop garden

Hello, I want to set up an orchard in Poland with Cider varnishes such as Kingston Black, Dabinett, Yarington etc. I have poor soil, so I am thinking about the MM106 or A2 rootstock. What tree spacing should I use?

You don’t call the sacks full of green hops “pokes”? And no mention of the uniqueness of the scuppet or the carpets? In my youth as an oast man ( working in a 300 year old oast house) we would press controlling by feeling the tension of the chain as we pressed the pockets. And we would Stich them up before dropping the through the floor. As for the soporific effect, I can attest to that. And also the amazing effect of hop oil on the hands- it would thicken the skin but keep it supple. Ex of FG Meakin Manor House Farm

I remember picking cider apples used to involve hitting the branches of a big old tree with a long pole, and then gathering them up and putting them into old fertilizer bags, and then heaving those onto an open trailer. Got 5p a sack, if I remember. That was in the 70s though!

I gotta say a great song. I really enjoyed it - chugging along. I've been sober for 12 years now. I drank til it came out of my skin - lost a fair few friends. There is a shadow side to the drinks industry. 10,000 plus deaths a year. We can be romantic but that's only part of the picture. Lovely video. Mark (Hereford)

Thank you Mark - and congratulations on hitting 12 years of sobriety - an amazing achievement. You are absolutely right; alcohol must be respected. We are very proud of our award-winning low/no alcohol ciders, too - perhaps we can feature them in our next video! Thanks again for your feedback. Stay well ☺️
