Bloody Mary and good old Henry. The worlds largest problems are British and Belgian. Spanish Portuguese French German Hungarian etc etc etc. Truth. Islam is somewhere in the mix. Oh! Blame it on the jews.

This series has been a delightful way to revisit history. I’ve enjoyed every minute of it! I feel as if I now see these characters as real people, not just as facts from history. Thanks so much for making this series available.

Thank-You, this was interesting! One documentary I watched about Henry XVIII hypothesized that the issues experienced by His Wives in carrying pregnancies to full-term, birthing living children, and having children who died young - as well as Henry’s increasing mental-instability as he aged - (etc) were most-likely due to his having contracted syphilis as a young man. Considering the King’s lifestyle and other salient-points discussed, I think that this is very likely. Strange how this overview of Henry’s life doesn’t mention that (or anything else) as a possible reason for his strange behaviour and unstable mental-decline; I also find it perplexing that the possibility/likelihood of those rumours leading to the Wives’ executions/divorces aren’t even hinted at as being untrue. I like the playful way these semi-biographical overviews are presented, but would prefer that more truth than intrigue and humour presented. All-in-all, I found this interesting - but not very helpful (and potentially quite-misleading) as a method/source of Historical education. *Listener’s beware!😉

History delivered in such a fun, interesting way. I love that she dearly loved Consort Albert, made eight babies...1/2 way through and delighted.
