I was told it's a temporary loan from KJDEP because SBS Transit SLBP mauled the KUBs and now SMRT has to send them for repairs 😂 It'll be sad to see them return to KJ but in the meantime aaaaa SBST Soon Lee has the best welfare out of all depots but their maintenance is the complete opposite (only losing to louzy SEDEP) SEDEP has state of the art maintenance facilities but they're still 😂

Actually possible. Follow 174 routing, then follow 506 previous routing to Changi Airport, extend to T5. Then the current 174 can divert to Tengah or maybe continue to NTU if they want to. Changi Airport Line is going to be converted to TEL anyway.

My answer to that question is a simple "no". There used to be direct MRT service from Boon Lay to Changi Airport back when the CGL extension began operations. Trains from Boon Lay alternated between traveling to Pasir Ris or Changi Airport, so you had plenty of stations to alight and board the next train if you think you are heading in the wrong direction. However, this service ceased for two reasons. One, there was very little demand from people directly commuting from the West to Changi Airport. Two, the increased frequency placed a lot of problems for commuters who are traveling on the EWL from Simei, Tampines and Pasir Ris. If we get consistent "red zone" trains from those areas during peak hours today, imagine the hair pulling and frustrations if trains return back to the arrangement I mentioned before. Therefore, I don't think a route from Boon Lay to Changi Airport is feasible, considering the MRT already proved there is very little demand from the West. For the minority that DO patronize this sector, the transfer to the shuttle is cross-platform as opposed to cross-station, so if that is still not OK, then you are just being very entitled.
124 not getting any DDs, I am guessing it's deliberate strong-arming, since 124's route runs parallel to the NSL from Novena to City Hall, and between Hill Street/South Bridge Road and Chinatown, there are plenty of routes with DDs to justify NOT deploying them on 124. 142 can be a victim of circumstance, since it plies the very popular and often congested Jalan Toa Payoh sector of the PIE. Bunching on 142 is very common during peak hours, so I doubt 2 axle DDs will help. 156 is really about demand, mainly how sporadic it is due to its unique routing. I have shared a photo of the old bus service 5 (Bukit Panjang - Geylang Lorong 1) with a 2 axle DD plying Sixth Avenue, the obvious elephant in the room over the fleet deployment along this stretch. If 132 does end up "choppy-choppy" cause of TEL/CRL rationalisation, maybe 156 should get 2 axle DDs. For Chai Chee, 222 has had DDs since its introduction, which are carried over from the old feeder service 221 (221 regularly deploys DDs to meet demand along the eastern end of Bedok North Road). So the elderly residents argument is kind of invalid. Sorry mate.
