What’s really fishy is the Sri Lankan fielders went up for it like they knew what the umpire was going to do. I think it was so egregious and obvious they tried to even it out by giving howlers on both sides. It worked because its just assumed to be incompetence.

Funny how umpires now give much better decisions since they know they're under immediate scrutiny. DRS was introduced to review the "howlers" (like those in this video) - but the howlers are now almost extinct. So it's fair to say that DRS is absolutely doing its job, despite the fact that most reviews are used only for close calls.
