Furniture Flip (Drab to Fab)
มุมมอง 674 หลายเดือนก่อน
I updated this super cute little cabinet into a decorative piece of furniture. The second I saw it, it reminded me of a garden gate and the Peter Rabbit story. Sometimes the furniture tells me what it want to be. I tracked down a Peter Rabbit poster and decopauged it to the front, hand painted the sides, added a super cute carrot knob and she was ready for her new home. One of my favorite flips...
How To Use Chalk Paint (Make a Decorative Wall Hanging)
มุมมอง 565 หลายเดือนก่อน
I have used an old kitchen cabinet door that I picked up at my local Restore - Habitat For Humanity Store - to make a super cool wall hanging. I donated this to a wild horse society called HAWS in Alberta, Canada to put in a fundraiser they were having. Cabinet doors and chalk paint go hand in hand and they are one of my favorite backdrops to transform into awesome wall hangings. They already h...

How To Decoupage A Poster To Furniture
มุมมอง 7K2 ปีที่แล้ว
I am decoupaging a poster to furniture in this video. I find posters are a lot different than other types of thinner paper. This method has worked great for me!

Wonderful job!! Looks great 🎉
@@Idkanymore12369yt thank you for your kind compliment!
Hi guys!!! This is the absolute hardest piece I have decoupaged to date. I couldn’t wait to share what I learned with you.
Has anyone tried coating it with epoxy resin for a more hard-wearing surface?
@@BlackStar-yk7iz I am actually going to do that with some upcoming side tables. I think that would be great!
I’m new to both decoupage and your channel. Absolutely love the idea of using a poster instead you can have so much more fun! A great video! Thanks so much.
@@beckyallen4172 you are so welcome. I am working on a super crazy decoupage cabinet right now. It has a ton of door insets, etc. I am trying to get it finished and a video out within the next week. Thank you for tuning into my channel!
@@davisroaddesigns7231 That sounds very intriguing, I look forward to watching that one. Thanks again for the inspiration and direction. 😃 x
Hi guys! I love DIY projects! I am usually painting or decoupaging, but this is super cute and fun and thought you might enjoy trying it. Let me know in the comments how yours turns out.
What are some other things you do with cabinet doors?
I have a lot of other cabinet doors that I’ve done. I’ll have to get some more posted
I think I might do my own cabinet doors as well as ones to sell.
I don't use a different brush for each color hardly ever. To much work for me. 😂 Blending out decoupage is one of my favorite things to do.
@@KMF3 me too. I don’t switch brushes especially when I use more of the dry brush method.
Love it
@@KMF3 thank you.
@@KMF3 thank you.
Love the technique... Not so much the poster
@@KMF3 thanks for checking out my video. Have a great day!

It’s so pretty
Thank you!
Thank you so much. Wish me luck on my first attempt at making a piece of wall art using what I learned from you today.❤
So happy I could help! Let me know if you have any questions. ❤
Love it ❤

Glad you enjoyed the information.
Gorgeous
Thank you so much!!!😊
That turned out really good
@@karenzepeta512 thank you so much!!
What an incredible video, thank you for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it!
do you take orders to do this if all the materials are sent to you?
That might be a possibility. Where are u located?
I live in southern California but I'm willing to mail the frame & the poster to you
I tried your method & I know it's super easy but I completely screwed it up
@@VIVANOEL oh no. Let me know if I can help.
@@VIVANOEL are you talking about a picture and kitchen cabinet type of frame to hang or a table top?
Was there a reason why you chose to add the water based clear coat over the lacquer, which offers good protection?
Great question. I did spray the laquer first - I have found by putting a light coat of lacquer followed by the clear coat - it keeps my paper from puckering. Since it’s more of a poster type paper than decoupage paper, it takes a little extra to make sure it stays adhered to my piece. I feel the lacquer by itself does not offer enough protection and wanted something more durable.
Thank you for this tutorial! I am about to do the same type of redoing older cabinet doors, this is helpful!
So glad you found this helpful. I use cabinet doors for all sorts of fun projects. 😊
Unfortunately my poster melted and it was ruined :( Is this common? It must have had a coating … which seems a common poster trait
Hi Josephine - I have not had any posters melt. Did you put the parchment paper down first and make sure it was not wax paper?
@@davisroaddesigns7231 yes, used the right paper… maybe my iron was too hot ?
That could be - I just haven’t had that happen yet. Thank you for your comment, I now know that can happen
so easy and informational! thank you for this!
You’re welcome! 😊
Would it be ok to use iron if base project is a plastic chair instead of a table???
I believe the iron on method would be too hot for the chair. Sorry for the delay - my notifications were not coming through.
Looks great 👍
Thank you! Much appreciated!!
