Brilliant a super band jigsaw were. des is a real talent doing this totally ad lib at a party. superb jigsaw were very under rated band shoulda had far more hits than than they had. we had to instead put up with dross and crap in the charts in those days.

@@rmbrunet6968 I will pass on the greetings to Steve and Des for you Rene😊
Loved all the songs they did , and in 1980 "I " who remembers that , also "Energy " when Des tried for Eurovision , all great numbers.
I love these handsome guys! Keep rocking that song was my entire childhood.
Prachtig Jigsaw dat jullie ook bij het televisie progamma bij jefke van Oekels waren dat was jullie eerste hit.Ik was toen 17 in 1974.Ook bij het progamma bij Hans van Wilgenburg geweest. In 1975.Was 18 jaar.
Hi John, Hope you're keeping well. Lovely to hear from you again & listening to Des' lovely singing voice. It always amazes me how he reaches those high notes. Thank-you for posting this, it's always great to hear anything by Des( and Jigsaw.) His singing style is so versatile. Just lovely. 😍 x
Hey Sarah, I’m doing well. Hope you are too? You’re very welcome. I just remembered I had this one so I uploaded it. I was actually thinking about you when I was uploading this. It always great to hear from my friend😊
@johnhodges8006 Aww, thats lovely John. Strangely enough, two days ago I thought about you too and was wondering how you were. This is the absolute truth. How's that for synchronicity ? I'm glad you are OK 👍. I've been without TH-cam for a while, my poor old phone couldn't update anymore as it was so old (2016 it was manufactured!) Got a new phone, its much more powerful & I'm back on social media again! It's been months since I've last spoken to you, so it's great to be in touch again. X
❤️ ☺️ ☺️ ☺️
@@sarahhealy1615 Hey Sarah, I believe you😊 yeah things have been a bit busy. Been trying to get a band going and practicing for gigs even making some backing tracks from scratch for some of the songs. That gives me an idea and I’m wondering what you would think about it? I play bass and was wondering if you would like to see me cover Jigsaw songs on the bass and upload them here? Do you think you and other people would like that?
@johnhodges8006 I certainly would and I think other people would too. Go for it John, that would be great 👍!
Baby don't do it has a great hook in it. The part - Hold it back before it's too late can't stop it if we try 👍
did you play at the deerstalker wirral merseyside round about 1975
What a nice voice has the Des Dyer i like his nice voice from the Englisch popgroup Jigsaw. Its a pity now i heard nothing anymore from him with the group Jigsaw. But alone his is also good.Good voice and a very good performence.Thet he gives with nice girls at the backking groud.Greetings to Des Dyer.Rene Brunet de Rochebrune.Holland.Rijswijk.
😊
sometimes i dreaming that i sing in the band jigsaw with Des Dyer.
Des Dyer teaches me drums at my school, he's the best teacher ever, he's so nice
I agree with you 100% I spoke to him once on the phone. Me and his musical partner Steve Fearn are really good friends. You couldn’t ask for better people😁
Ik draai iedere dag jullie songs one step too far hy and dry and in between the loving and wail your wait enz.Groeten Rene Brunet de Rochebrune. From Holland The Hague.
Still sound great
hey this is cheep, big fan of jigsaw, sky high
La mejor canción de mil mascaras
If I had to go away...one of my favourite songs ever. Can't believe it wasn't number one😊 great band
One of my favorites too. I agree it should have been a #1 hit. Jigsaw is the greatest band there is in my opinion. They’re very underrated unfortunately.
awesome! He still has that voice after all these years!
She was my singing teacher for a few months!!!
Hi @ellie8263 You had a very talented singing teacher. Kay and Colin and Mr. Dyer are friends of mine. You couldn’t ask for better people.
She was my singing teacher!!!
In their hit Skyhigh, the bridge between the verses and the choruses is one of the great bridges in contemporary music. The flow gives it an ethereal feel with a rock and roll beat. Very lovely.
Bendita voz❤
Thanks SO much for posting this! It’s such a rare occurrence for me to hear a “new” Jigsaw track. Just when I thought that I had them all……my Japanese “Pieces Of Magic “ CD doesn’t have this bonus track on it ….I was robbed😢
Hey Clive,I’ve dug and dug and still looking. I believe that there is plenty more songs out there by them that is not available to us that is on another Japanese release. I know Des and them did an alternate version of “I’ve Seen The Film I’ve Read The Book” around 1980 but I haven’t heard it in years and it sunk without a trace from the TH-cam world and other places but I’ll keep looking.
John, you are so so lucky to have a special mention from Des and Steve and to have it on video forever. I'd be the happiest woman on the planet if I had a dedication like that from them. Hope all is well with you. X
Hey Sarah, sorry I have just seen this comment. I’m very blessed to be friends with Steve and Des they are good people. I’m doing well I hope you are too.
@@johnhodges8006 Hill John Yes you are indeed very blessed! Unfortunately I don't know Steve and Des personally but judging by watching them being interviewed they seem great down to earth people - someone you can feel comfortable with in their company and who tou can have a good laugh with. I'd love to meet these two! I'm doing OK thanks after 2 horrible turbulent years. Glad to hear that you're doing well yourself. Let's hope for better things for us all in the future. Before Des joined Jigsaw wasn't he in a band with his brother and his cousin? I can't remember what his band was called from those early days but if you or anyone out there has any recordingss or interviews or film footage it would be very interesting to see them! :) x
@@sarahhealy1615 I hate to hear that the past couple of years have been rough for you. I hope things are better now. Des and his cousin Dave played in a band called the surfcyders back in the 60s. Something that I didn’t know was Des’s father was a drummer as well.
@@johnhodges8006 Thanks for telling me the name of Des' band, The Surf cyders & it's very interesting to hear that his father was also a drummer too. Obviously this precious gift runs in the family. I wonder if his father could sing too? Des is so lucky to inherit this gift & to be blessed with such an amazing voice. Yes, the past couple of years have been tough but I'm getting there slowly. I lost my beloved husband to cancer & then I was very ill for over a month afterwards with covid. I try to stay as positive as I can. Music keeps me going r specially Jigsaw!! Thank God for TH-cam and the internet! Thankyou for your concern & you stay well John. X
@@sarahhealy1615 Hey Sarah you’re welcome and I really hate to hear that. I’m really sorry. I’ll be looking out for some more Jigsaw songs and will post them if I find anymore.
How wonderful to rediscover this! It disappeared from TH-cam some time ago. I bought the single at the time - the flip side was excellent too - as ALL of Clive and Des’ material was. Thanks for posting!
Hey Clive. You’re welcome. I agree. Anything that Des and Clive wrote was pure gold. This is one beautiful song and performance.
Aaaaaaaaawwwhhhh. I love this song!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ One of the golden voices from the good music times!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤ Des. I LOVE YOU!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
You'll have to get in the queue here. You have some SERIOUS competition! I saw him first!!! He is one of the greatest singers and drummers in the world.
(SCREAM!) What a beautiful performance from Des & his backing singers. It made me feel emotional & laugh out loud happy at the same time! The performance with the brooms was funny & the faces which Des pulled whilst singing was just so comical! I love to hear him singing falsetto He sounds just like the singer from the Stylistics & Barry Briggs. He is an amazing man with such incredible talent. Credit must also go to Clive Scott for Co writing this gem of a song. Once again John thankyou, you've certainly come up trumps again! X
You’re welcome Sarah. I knew you would love it. I’ll see what else I can find😊
@@johnhodges8006 Thanks John. Whatever it is I'm sure your next upload will be just as awesome! I'll look forward to watching & listening to whatever else you post. X
This track has really grown on me now. Kay & Des' vocals gel together really well. It took me a while to get used to Kay's voice but after a few listens I realised just how beautifully she sings. I'm jealous. I'd love to sing with Des even though I can't sing myself!!!
Just beautiful. What a lovely uplifting song. There's something about Kay's performance which reminds me of Bonnie Tyler & Dana. I'd completely forgotten about this Eurovision entry from 1982 so it was great to see this again. Who can forget Des Dyer's Eurovision entry with "Energy" in 1985? It's all good! Thankyou John for this latest upload.
Hey Sarah. Thank you for the kind words. I agree with you. Kay reminds me of Bonnie Tyler as well. When I listen to “Total Eclipse Of The Heart” it puts me in mind of Kay’s voice. They both have beautiful voices. Have you seen the Casablanca video I put up I know you will love it. All the best. John.
@@johnhodges8006 I haven't seen the Casblanca video yet. I'll really look forward to watching it. Thankyou for putting lots of lovely interesting content on your channel, I'm very grateful to you & once again thankyou for your lovely message. X
Oh John, Thankyou so much for posting this wonderful radio announcement & the lovely photos that accompany it from Jigsaw it has really made my day They are my favourite band of the 70s and I really love them. I also apologise for disrespecting Kay Webber's singing voice all those months ago. You are right her voice has now grown on me and it is lovely I look forward to more posts from you in the future in the meantime stay well, warmest regards to you & once again thankyou for uploading this piece of vintage gold. X
Hey Sarah, I’m glad you came around, all is forgiven. I know Kay would forgive you as well. I’m one of the most forgiving person there is. Don’t stress it,I’m glad you enjoyed the video. Is there any Jigsaw song that you know of that isn’t on TH-cam that you know about? I will try to find it if I can. All the best. John.
@@johnhodges8006 Thankyou for your lovely kind message, John. I will rack my brains and keep a look out for any Jigsaw tracks that aren't on TH-cam. You are very kind. God Bless you. X

John Hodges. You could likely get more plays on this vid if you change the title to include "JIg Saw Sky High Live 2017 Des Dyer Rare Performance" etc . I had to do a deep dive to find this. More people will want to see it as well I promise.
That is a good idea. Thank you.
I'll rename it when I get a chance. I'm really sorry that this was hard for you to find. I'm glad you enjoy it.
No worries!!!! Was only trying to help and would like others to enjoy it too. It's a very rare clip and we're grateful.
I love everything this band have ever done and this song is no exception. The 70s were a fantastic era & the best talent comes from The Midlands in the UK. (Also my part of the world!) Any chance of me meeting up with Steve & Des ? Especially Des!!!, He still sounds amazing & he comes across as being a really genuine guy and is always smiling. He and Steve work well together and they are a very down to earth duo.
Wow. What amazing talent. When Jigsaw were in their prime in the 197 0's I was around 8 or 9 years old. They sound just as fresh today as they did back then. I am so proud of them as they are flying the flag for the Midlands in England which is where I'm from & Des you haven't changed much and your voice is just lovely. I would love to see you all perform live. Good luck in your lives I'm won over all over again! Long live Fingers & Fumbs!
agree sarah great midlands band
They are certainly the best! x
Por supuesto, un gran orgullo y talento de tu localidad.
Really good interview but it wasn't long enough! There's short & ,there's short! I was just getting into this when the interview ended! Just hope that roadie avoided injury to his fingers and hand!
Hey Sarah. I just revisited this comment it was a good interview and I wish it was longer too. Love hearing Des and the members of Jigsaw/Casablanca etc. speak😊
@johnhodges8006 Hello John, really nice to hear from you. I hope you are well. I saw something really weird on Facebook the other week. I think it was something to do with Des' Facebook page. I saw a video of the group playing live , it looked like they were in a club performing at some function m. They were performing Sky High, when this older man walked past, completely naked with a sparlker positioned in the crack of his bottom!! How Des kept a straight face, I don't know. He did say something, made some comment to this man but I couldn't catch what it was. Have you seen this? I'd say it was filmed about the same time of the interview you'd put on TH-cam. Have a lovely Christmas 🎄 John, you & your family and a great New Year too. X
@@sarahhealy1615 Hey Sarah. I did see that video. That was at Des’s 60th birthday party. The man that was naked was Steve and Des’s friend I don’t know if I’m pronouncing his name right or not Garritay. He’s a friend of them Des said he was an instigator from the stage which he was just playing around. I believe they had it arranged and got a good laugh out of it haha that was the last birthday that Clive got to celebrate with Des before he sadly passed away😓 thank you so much for the Christmas wishes. I wish you and everyone on your end a great Christmas as well.
@@sarahhealy1615 That was also the last time that the original members of Jigsaw all played together was at Des’s 60th.
@johnhodges8006 That was lovely for Des but sad too, as it was the last time they performed together . I wonder who the streaker was? Someone who was very brave!!!
His voice is even better !
Des you still have it❤️
He sure does
Such amazing talent. When Jigsaw were in their prime I was about 8 or 9 years old. They still sound as fresh today as they did when I was a kid. They come from near my neck of the woods too as I was delighted to discover recently. I just love them. Sky High is an ear worm which I can't get out of my head at the moment
OMGOODNESS...I'm literally crying....Des sounds amazing. Such a great gift you were given from God. With that smile, who needs lights! Please let me know where I can hear Des in person...I'm retired now and would love to add this to my bucket list. I live in California.
Thank you so much Jeanette. I wish I could see Steve and Des in person too. I hope all is well with you. John
When Des sings Sky High he looks so happy. It's obvious he just loves what he's doing, performing and giving pleasure to millions of people . On stage he seems like he's in another world. His smile lights up a hundred trillion billion lights!!!
