My musical journey of life.
I play at Shangri-la Hotel lounge at High tea times,
I play at Baycrest hospital for music therapy sessions for elderly,
I play at various venues in Toronto for various events,
And I find the magic of connecting with the audience each and every time I play.
It's all started with connecting with a lady who has Alzheimer and is 102 years old.
I'm going to do my best to strictly follow and lead the real intuition in music in me with this new music journey in my life!
And I love to share this magic with anyone who's soul search for this magic.....somewhere.💗

Power of Music In Music Therapy for 102 yrs old lady.
I've been working for this lady as a pianist at her home with live piano music session, who's been suffering of Alzheimer's.
I've been trying with many different genres of music, Classical to Broadway musical, Pop songs from 60's - 90's to religious pieces and she recognizes variety of songs and sings along and sometimes remembers the lyrics and sang. Sometimes, even if she doesn't recognize the song she will listen to the melodically lines of music and sing along as I improvise.
Music has such an amazing power to bring memories and it connects to the people and soul.
I am so blessed to feel this magical music power with her every time.
Music makes everyone happy indeed.........and when you are happy, you really enjoy singing.........
May happiness within you always, with music.

Thank you for posting. Well done!
The Great Man made the most of his life. God bless him. RIP guitar in hand. Amazing sound indeed.
Gordon is amazing. His life was too. We will miss you. Real lifetime artist. I'll remember him as full of life. What a trooper.
💕🎶🎵🎼🎹🪄☁️ 🌹
We are really going to miss him. I have been to his concerts since 1977. An amazing performer. A very proud Canadian 😢
I Love you Gordy; I’ll never stop mourning your loss sir. If not for you my musical master, I would have no songs of my own written.❤💔💖✝️
Started guitar in 1962 and Lightfoot and later Beatles was what I played. Lightfoot was and will always be a legend to all who appreciate real music.👍
Great storyteller singer songwriter...your memory will live on.
he's giving it his all...
Wunderschön, Gordon ! Ruhe in Frieden!
This song is one of the greatest in the history of recorded music. The version we all know is THE FIRST TIME they ever played The Wreck of The Edmund Fitzgerald. However, the Gordon Lightfoot shown here is a desiccated shell of his former self. This is what smoking does to genius talent. He smoked cigarettes to the very end.
GORDON A ETE UN DES MEILLEURS CONTEURS DE BELLES ET EMOUVANTES HISTOIRES DE LA VIE DES HOMMES DE CETTE PLANETE TERRE...
I first heard Gordon while I was attending Northeastern University in Boston, MA in 1970. I was totally mesmerized by his voice, guitar work and the songs he wrote! I saw him in 1972 at Symphony Hall, also in Boston. Since then I've loved his music and own several of his albums! A completely and totally incredible singer/songwriter! RIP Gordon!
awesome vid rip
The guy who spent six weeks in a coma afer an aortic aneurysm then toured another 20 years! RIP Gordon. 🙏

Loved him in the 70s . Gordon's music never gets old.❤
Getting old sucks.
I truly love his songs. But I cannot listen to this. It’s awful. Songs don’t even sound right 🤮
Love ya, Gordon.
It's sad that the people making critical comments here don't get the fact that the audience at this concert came knowing just what to expect: a legend in his eighties who still had the energy to perform a full set on stage, who loved performing, who loved the music, who loved them. They loved him back. And that's why the rest of us are here watching this now.
I came to find Gordon as a young man, and I bought a lot of his music before I was out of school, and I replaced it as it wore out down through the years. As a musician myself, I cannot say I know of any music artist who so prolificly wrote so much complex material, cut so many albums, toured so constanly, playing each song as if it were the album for us, and who poured as much of his heart into all of it as Gord did and has. He cared about the people who supported him. He is as much a fallible man and struggled with life's stuations as any of us, but few rise to the consistancy and delivered the excelence that Gord has, and we are lucky to have enjoyed all that he has shared with us. We know he is aged and tired, but that is just a facet of how remarkable a man he was. That's what Gord was made of, and we are sommehow made better because of his story and stories. Godspeed Gordon and thanks for everything!
@@TacObserver Amen!
❤
Hi was 82 in this concert. I would be lucky to be standing and holding a guitar at 82... sad but true.
God bless you ❤
Yes he is not 35 anymore He sang because he loved to sing Warts and all Rather a 84 year old than a 30 year old Justin whoever
you are missed . rest in peace now my friend.
I had his song on hold yesterday .. always Eternally pray.. rest grant unto him/her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him/her. May he/she rest in peace. Amen. May almighty God bless us with his peace and strength, the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Amen
@@derpydogz0259 We never know the day or hour. Take care ❣️
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. ~Amen~
Eternal rest in peace
RIP
and then... Whitney Houston's people used his great talent for another song. GOD KEEP OUR BROTHER GORDON! ❤️🩹🙏🎚️
THe Spit Light beacon is beaming for you tonight, dear Gordon. You have given us your heart and soul for decades. Thank you, in tears. Rest in Peace., Sir.
RIP Gordon 🙏
I’m watching this just days after hearing he had died almost a year later. To have the strength to do this at 83 is amazing and he was going to tour again but recently had to cancel. Thank you for the incredible music and story telling in your songs.
RIP & God Speed Gordon Lightfoot 5/1/2023
Rest easy Gordon Lightfoot... thanks for your beautiful lyrics and music through the yrs, it will stay with us forever 💔 🙏
He gave it all he had right up to the end! RIP Gordon!
He said that a teacher once told his class to 'do the best with what you've got.' And that is what he did to the very end. R.I.P. dear GL.
His older voice kind of works with these songs. Like a grandpa telling stories to his grandkids on the back porch. RIP and love Mr Lightfoot.
still great at it!!!
He was loved around the world. Hello from Tasmania, Australia.
RIP
Casino Rama, where the has beens are put out to pasture for a gig.
The world's most depressing song, about people dying in a storm. "C'mon kids, let's all sing along to this".
The song is a memorial tribute to the 29 souls who lost their lives serving aboard the workhorse of the Great Lakes, the Edmund Fitzgerald. It is not entertainment, but a testimony to them so they will never, ever, be forgotten. Every penny Mr. Lightfoot earned from this song was given to the families of the sailors, as was all rights to publication. Now you know.
@@pamelavarilone2614 It's nice that he did that, but I would have preferred a 2 hour TV documentary, and not a song about it. Nobody wants to hear a song about a plane crash where everyone on board gets killed by drowning in the ocean. It's just downright depressing.
It may be a song about dying in a storm but it's also a song about one man's compassion for the suffering of others. The event may be depressing but the song elevated and immortalized it. I read that Gordon kept in contact with the families of the sailors and would attend memorial events a day early so he could spend time with them. After his death, they said he was like family.
@@terry7893 Perhaps something more like the movie Titanic? It was written by another Canadian who no doubt grew up listening to this song which may well have led to his interest in shipwrecks.
@@sharonm2799 A movie is fine; it's something that you watch that actually happened. But to make a song and sing about it?? Could you imagine a song about the Titanic. "Oh nearly 1,500 people died. What a sad, sad night as they didn't get fried, but were dumped into the frigid ocean. Most didn't drown, most froze to death, for which there was no potion".
Rip sir :(
RIP GORD. This one hurts. 😣
I just heard today that Gordon just passed away....and I'm here to pay respect and to honor his memory.
I am with you💜💔
Rest easy Mr. Lightfoot...thx for all the wonderful memories 🙏 🤍❤️ 🤍🇨🇦
💘
Thanks for the video. I love Carter's solo in Baby Step Back - fine guitar player. It's hard for me to see Gord's voice so shot, but I've seen him at least 70 times in concert since1974 and at this point it's like me seeing an old friend no matter what his vocal quality. If touring and the fans give him purpose so be it - love the man and all he's given us. The minstrel for the baby boom generation. World's greatest lyricist
A legend story teller, if I make it to 83 and still able to sing this is the way I'll go out....hats off to you Gordon lightfoot... you're an inspiration ❤
he is a legend. top class in every way.
truly the best in every way since 1972 for me
It's so good to see a recent video of Mr. Lightfoot. Thank you. ❤Gordon Lightfoot!!
His voice is shot, understandable after all his years and health issues. Was going to see him in a few weeks but don't think I can do it now. As much as I would love to kiss the ring I don't think I could stand to hear him this way. I've been a fan too long. God bless him for persevering and for all the great songs over the years.
@Scott Ingram Sounds like you've got a fear of growing old. How are you going to face it in your own life? I honor Mr. Lightfoot and his resilience all these years. He will go down in history as one of the greatest in the music 🎶 world. I doubt if you'll be up on stage with thousands of adoring fans when you're 83 years old. Rock on, Mr. Lightfoot. Rock on.....💋❤️💋❤️
@@sweetcaroline2060 Nice try, but it's not about me. I share your admiration of Gordon Lightfoot and his music. But he's not doing his fans any favors by trying to do something he's not quite able to do anymore. It's like young Elvis vs. fat Elvis. Same guy but he wasn't able to do what he once was able to do. John Mellencamp is in the same boat. His voice is shot but he's still touring. On the flip side, I saw Al Stewart a few weeks ago (he's 77 now) and although he can't quite carry those high notes anymore he still has that same recognizable voice and put on an excellent show.
