Nope it's dirt, soil is more often black because of the amount of compost like material in it and soil grows things much better than dirt

Not only does the heater add heat, but the heater is adding carbon dioxide to the air which is what the plants need for photosynthesis. Just make sure you don’t get sick in there. You start feeling dizzy you could be making some carbon monoxide that’s not good.
