A little information on how to operate the Kodak S100EF
Got this camera today from my godfather in perfect condition. I will try it someday with some film. I think it will be a perfect tool for lomography.
My film advance wheeel is jammed, what do i do?

Hello thank you for that video it is very helpful 😊 but i have one question how do i get the little button at the bottom that i pushed to rewind my film to pop out again, because since i pushed mine to rewind its stuck and i cant use my advance roller anymore 😢

How do you get the photos?
I try to push that 5:45 button but why its not lifting up? Ican roll the film advance please help
Hello i think i have the same problem have you found a solution yet ?
@@reginabernhart2681 no chance i bought new camera instead
when i load the film it doesnt wind….any way to remedy this?
Hello, mine doesn’t flash. Is there a problem with the battery?
Thanks for the help with rewinding the film!
Hey man! Thanks for video. I just wanna ask, maybe you know whats might be wrone with flashlight? I cheked batarey section and cleanup the contacts - no result
Hi! I don't think the flash is working on my camera, can i still shoot with it?
Did it work??
thank you for this video! it helped me a lot <3
this was so helpful, thank you!
Thank you for creating this, your video is very clear <3
I love mine! So easy to use and works perfectly still after all these years!
Good video , can the flash be set in auto mode so it will come on when needed ? Also you said if any major problems just buy another one . Is there any on the current market similar to this ?
On 3:12 of the video you were talking about how the frame number changes when you take a picture. I got this camera with film already in it, & an “H” is flashing where the number frame should be. What does this mean?
A flashing H refers to a motor issue with this camera. It would need to be serviced. However, you'll probably never find a technician for this camera. Easier to buy a new one.
Please tell me the brand of the yellow battery in the device, thank you very much.
The brand doesn't matter so much, just the type. You want a CR2 battery. Any brand will be fine.
Hello! I have this camera. When I hit the off button, the screen stays on. Is this normal?
Yes, this is normal.
what kind of film can i put in the camera?
35mm film. I'd recommend 400 ISO film.
Hi, if I press the button to release the film without the film, how do I get that button back?
Hey i have the same question have you found a solution yet?
How do you set the date?
Guys can someone help me i cant even roll film advance button without film
hi! i have the exact same camera and im having problems with it. any idea what the issue is if after shooting several shots, around 3-5, it just suddenly stops? the counter starts blinking and the lens closes by itself and as i try to turn it on with the power button, nothing’s happening. im pretty sure the film placement was right.
It sounds to me like a motor issue, which is very common on these film cameras unfortunately. People didn't expect anyone to be using them 20-30 years later and they weren't constructed with longevity in mind. Plastic parts often break and cause the camera to cease operation. Ate you able to turn the camera on and take any more images or does it just refuse? If it's the latter, definitely a motor issue. Otherwise, could be a power issue, still an internal issue. And nobody really fixes these. I dabble in fixing them but I don't get lucky half the time.
anyway to repair the flash? it seems that’s usually the first thing to break after a while haha, it used to work, then suddenly I replaced the batteries and nothing
I mean there's a way to fix almost anything, but it's probably not worth it for these point and shoots. I personally repair a bunch of point and shoots but the work is long and laborious and these cameras weren't built to last any way. No one really expected them to be in use for 40 years so the plastic is brittle and a part of the internal motor is the first thing to go. Usually with the flash its a capacitor issue, electronic issue or burnt out bulb. But nah, probably not worth it for the average person to get fixed. If you're a nut like me, open it up but just realize that there's a potential for electric shock unless you know what you're doing. So if you're willing to deal with some electric shock, give it a go but I can speak from experience that it's not fun.
nice camera. When i was in high school that was my camera. I used it even without battery, no flash only. If no battery i can not use it at night.
You're absolutely right, no battery needed if you don't need flash. There's a small geared internal motor but its powered by the thumb wheel so this one is a good one to keep in the bag for everyday use.
Welche baterry brauche ich für diese camera?
This camera takes a CR2 battery.
Very helpful thanks! My film has ISO 200. Can i still take pics when the camera is set to ISO 400? Or do i have to keep the setting at 200 always?
You can definitely shoot your film with the camera set to a different ISO, depending which you do you're either pulling or pushing your film. But you'll have best results when shot at box speed. When your camera is set to a different ISO from your film it will expose improperly and it will affect your images, though some people like that look so it can be worth experimenting, but I wouldn't try it on anything I really care about.
Wait, I thought you had to hold down the button when you rewind because when you hear the sprockets it rips the film? I might be crazy but I’ve always done that hahaha. Thanks for the video!
which button do u hold down?
the one on the bottom right. its directly down from the film advance on the bottom of the camera.
I put in my film but the counter isn’t showing on the lcd screen, Any tips or knowledge of what it means?
It sounds like a bad connection somewhere. I've opened these cameras up before and they are almost impossible to repair easily. If you can still take photos without the LCD screen (which I don't see why you wouldn't be able to unless there's a film loading issue) then go for it.
Hi, my film promotion wheel is not working, how can I fix this situation?
Unfortunately it's not really something most people would be able to pull off themselves. The people that would've repaired this camera are either dead or retired. You're better off getting a new camera altogether
how do i get the battery door open?
You should be able to pull it open with very little effort. Pull in the direction of the arrow on the battery compartment. If you struggle with opening the battery door and you've never used the camera before, there may be a corroded battery in there holding it closed
I found a camera like this from my dad from 20 years ago and was curious how it worked 😅
Thank you!
Can I use Kodak Color Plus 200 Asa 135/36 Poz Color Plus Film for this camera?
Yes, any 35mm film is fine. If the box says "135" that just means it's a 35mm film. 36 is the number of exposures and 200 is the ISO/ASA. Just make sure to set the ISO properly. Good luck
@@ClickHere4AGoodTime thank you!!!!
Hello! I just bought this camera. After i shoot, the film advance is stucking and i cant turn it for the other shot. After that, im pushing the button again like im shooting, and then i could turn the film advance. Is that normal? I would be appreciated if you could help. Thanks!
I'm not 100% sure what you mean but no it doesn't sound normal. Are you sure the film has been loaded correctly?
@@ClickHere4AGoodTime when i took the photo and after i turned the film advance, the number is changing (1 to 4) so i assumed that the film have been loaded correctly ☺️. I couldnt figure it out why i need to push shutter button again to take a new one after every photo.
thank you a lot for this video!! I bought this exact camera and i was clueless on how it worked haha
Not a problem. Glad I could help!
What type of film does it take?
35mm film
Hey I have this camera and just loaded some film, I advanced it once before I closed it like you said so that I could see if it was loading properly and it was, but the rewind knob isn't turning when I advance it? I tried adjusting the rewind knob to make sure it was pressed down and it is but it still isn't turning.. how do I know if it's actually working?
If you take a photo with it, does the film counter change? Should go from 0 (or S) to 1.
@@ClickHere4AGoodTime Yep the film counter does change
@@sunshine44428 interesting. Hard to say without seeing the camera myself. You're sure the rewind knob isn't moving as you shoot photos? Its possible your film may have become dislocated and isn't loaded properly. I usually have a darkroom to check this in, but most people don't have that available. Is there a local camera store close to you? Or maybe an older person with experience with film?
@@ClickHere4AGoodTime I'm sure. The closest camera store is quite far away from me and no one I know has experience with film. Do you think it would be worth it to risk a few shots on the film and open it to see if it is loaded properly? I have only really taken 3 test shots.
@@sunshine44428 yeah...I might take a few more shots and actually make it worth it...but speaking from experience, you're gonna ruin a few rolls of film before you figure out this film thing. But hopefully something good comes from this and you at least learn to load film. If you accidentally expose your film, you at least have a roll to try again on. Sorry bud, wish I could help more
What is the tape thing called
You mean film?
How do you change the date on the camera if it is blank and blinking?
Try going to this website. Here is the instruction manual. www.manualslib.com/manual/420853/Canon-Sure-Shot-150u-Date.html#manual
how do you change the date? im new with film cams hehe
I have the same camera. Go to this website, there is an instruction manual to help your problem. www.manualslib.com/manual/420853/Canon-Sure-Shot-150u-Date.html#manual
Thanks for the assist Deanna!
My camera doesn't focus when I take flash photos, any tips?
Flashes on these old cameras may need to charge before they can focus. It may take up to 10-15 seconds to charge the flash capacitor so it pays to be patient. If that doesn't work, it may be an issue with your camera itself.
@@ClickHere4AGoodTime thank you sooo much! I will try that :)
Hi, can you please teach me how to do a TEST ROLL or DUMMY ROLL?
A test roll or dummy roll is just a film roll that you dont get developed and reuse. So these rolls are usually either expired film or rolls i find in old cameras. Since I've exposed them I just reuse them to test cameras. You just have to open the camera before rewinding all the way to be able to reuse them. You can also pull them after the fact, but it takes additional tools.
@@ClickHere4AGoodTime can you make tutorial video?
Is there a specific film that should be used? Can someone help me, I'm a beginner (i found my moms camera, and i wanna use it now haha) 😊
This takes any 35mm film. No specific brand or film necessary.
thank you so much for the video! i had no idea how to use this camera but thanks to you i figured it all out 🧚🏻♀️
You're very welcome!
Hi! I have this camera but the film advance is stuck. Do you know how I could fix this? thanks for the video!
Unfortunately this camera probably won't be able to be repaired at this point. Will have to track down a replacement. These cameras are over 30 years old at this point. Mechanical issues are to be expected.
Hey. I got my moms 30 year old camera (Kodak s100ef) a few weeks ago and had the same problem. I took all the screws out, and cleand the inside well. There were loads of dirt in it.
hi! i had the same problem and solved it by maintaining the metal piece on the right side of the lens (right under the lid that reads "Kodak") open. To see it, you should open the lid a little more than intended. I put a little piece of rubber in there to stop the that metal piece from traveling fully to the left. that allowed me to advance the film and pull the shutter button. hope it helps.
Thankss a lot
hey thanks for the video. i got confused the first time using this and loaded the film wrong, instead of putting it straight across i put it in the metal piece next to the sprocket. is there a way to fix this? i already took a few shots.
Sorry, I'm late. Did you manage to finish the roll? Does it appear to have loaded properly? Did the film counter advance?
