Sometimes Oscar will stay by the food dish and makes the foxes wait and yet other times he just runs away.

Haden Hill Park is an historical Victorian landscape with a Victorian Mansion and Tudor Hall. The landscape offers stunning views of the surrounding area. The park is a popular venue for historical local events and environmental activities. It has children's play areas, bowling greens, ornamental lakes and formal garden areas.

Oscar the cat with half a tail stands up to the vixen but retreats later when the vixen returns with a fox cub. A badger appears later to eat whatever food remains and gets a sandwich from the base of the dish.

Dad and a cub were in the garden and then the vixen appeared. I don't see them together very often, it is normally one or two at a time. I'm sure there is another cub but it does not seem to hang out with the family.

      Hi Tracy, until I seen these clips I did not think that cats would hang around with foxes so close to them. Cats are pretty tough.

    Funny seeing this our neighbour replaced a low picket fence with 6ft panel fencing he said to keep the foxes out to protect his children. I explained that a fox can jump over high fences. He didn't believe me. The foxes are forever jumping over into his garden. I also added fox attacks are extremely rare.

    Interesting how the cub is nervous of the dish. The foxes in my garden are nervous of food in containers too.

      Hi Tracy. Thank you for your comments. Most mornings the food dish is empty. One tin of dog food, two handfuls of small biscuits and three slices of bread with jam or honey. The foxes and badgers love the sandwiches. I have not been publishing enough videos and the amount I have on disks are growing each week.

    It’s interesting how nervous they can be of food in a container. Wonder what spooked dad. Young cub was a bit bemused for a second by dad scarpering. Nice footage. Putting my camera out tomorrow night.

      Hi Tracy, Although I put food out she has competition from her big cubs, other foxes, cats and sometimes badgers so the food might have been eaten by the time she appears.

    Just how the foxes behave in my garden. Very tentative. The vixen is very lame isn’t she? It looks possibly broken. She gives the cub confidence though. Great treat with the badger at the end what a treat having them visit your garden. Enjoyed watching.

    Looks superbike Knepp im lucky that Longhorn as kept grazing in Epping Forest to keep the natural forest in check .... They are docile and seem to browse more like Elephants than normal cattle i have seen them eating fruit new leaves weeds etc so do a good job composting and spreading seeds etc

      @@chrismccartney8668 Hi Chris, they seem much more interesting than normal cattle, the varied size and shape of the horns and their colour. I only see them about twice a year.

      And they are surprisingly large…the one kept in Epping Forest are picked for their docility as paths and bike paths criss cross the Forest they seem to ignore dogs under control or on leads but I wouldn’t take a chance with yappy or boisterous dog… they look so natural in woods scrub and rough pasture…

    The feet of coot always amaze me such large feet for a small bird. Enjoyed the swans mirroring, juv swans too, wonder if they siblings or a young pair beginning to pair up?

    it’s interesting seeing the foxes eating out of a dish. The foxes that visit my garden that I’ve filmed are so nervous of food in a dish. So I tend to leave it on the ground now.

      Hi Tracy, some foxes are still nervous of the dish but others are used to it now. I have a couple of videos of the fox pulling the dish away, running off and then appearing a bit later.

      They are beautiful and placid. I only worried when the mom and the young one came close but I think the mother was just being nosy. Is your farm in the UK?

      Hi Tracy, the badger also likes them. I use Asda or Tesco cheap bread about 50p and jam about 28p. I put out four slices because several foxes come in the garden. They take some and hide them for later.

      @@mywildlifeclips6142 No badgers in our garden in Oldbury but we do have them in a Warley Woods and West Smethwick Park both not too far from me. We had a fox earlier this morning in my neighbour’s garden, they visit most nights we rarely see them in the day. Our neighbours are not in favour of them, so I feed them late at night as not to upset the neighbours. They read too much into ‘fox headlines’ and small children. But I’ll give them a treat of jam and bread one night this week and set the camera up.

    There's definitely a pecking order there.Some people believe that foxes kill cats. I think cats are able to stand their ground our cats over the years have never had problems, or the cats I catch on the night camera.

      Hi Tracy, The fox kept it's distance until it's patience ran out. There was a short fight a few nights before this video and it may have been these two.

    That was fortunate you having a net. A heron flies over occasional. We only had one visit on the shed roof many years ago. Our frogs have been safe so far. Great film.

    That is incredible footage and it makes you feel like you need to step in and help we have had a starling killed literally on the doorstep by a sparrow hawk. It was disturbing as this footage is but it’s our sensibilities and we have to except that it’s survival. The frog is killed quite quickly as the magpie strikes the head ensuring death. Emotive but fascinating footage of wildlife. Frogs nervous system will keep them moving.

      Hi Tracy, I thought that was gruesome until I filmed another attack a couple of weeks later on the lawn which as it was in the open and a bit closer is even worse. As you say it is survival for certain animals to prey on others. Some of the videos on TH-cam has opened my eyes to the different side of wildlife.

    That’s great. People do worry about cats and foxes but cats certainly know how to look after themselves and they know when to leave. Great footage.

      Hi Tracy, I never realised how much interaction there was between cats, foxes and badgers, the cameras have opened my eyes to the nightlife in the garden. I have also spotted during the day how savage some birds are. Last year I videoed a crow attacking and killing a frog and in the last few weeks on two occasions I filmed a magpie attacking and killing frogs. I intend to upload the footage with a warning.

      Hi Tracy, Dog food and biscuits also jam or honey sandwiches. The cats and magpies will eat some of the dog food but not the sandwiches because they are sweet. The foxes like sweet stuff. I read that on a fox wildlife web page. Apparently if a fox has mange you might be able to get free medicines which can be put in the jam sandwiches.
