Inspect the complete cooling system checking for leaks. Replace any parts with leaks which may include the rubber hoses, water pump and radiator. Bleed the cooling system by parking the car in a slight upward angle to promote trapped air removal, remove the radiator cap, turn heat to hot, start car and run until the thermostat opens, replace radiator cap and test drive. If overheating still occurs replace the thermostat and flush out the radiator. Re-bleed the cooling system and test drive. Cooling systems have parts that breakdown over time, if may be the water pump or the radiator if the problem is not solved. Let me know your progress. Thanks for the comment. Good luck.

Generally, fill with R134A until the ice cold blows cold without overfilling and watching the pressure on the inline gauge aiming for the middle green area. Every system requires a different amount of R134A. Enjoy your mustang. Tha

The Fox body Mustang 5.0 has a mechanical fan as stock. Aftermarket electric fans controlled with a sensor attached to the radiator. The stock sensor the intake manifold may not be ideal for controlling an electric fan. Enjoy your mustang. Thanks for the comment.

The stock mustang comes with mechanical clutch fan. The electric fans on your mustang may of been wired into the stock temp sensor. The stock stock sensor is used for the dash gauges. You may have wiring issues cause the stock gauge not to work. Thanks for the comment.

I appreciate your reply. I went and bought the other sensor but now I'm not sure it will fix the problem of the gauge. This is an 89 LX 2.3 4 cyl. with no modifications whatsoever. It was sitting under a cover in the yard for a long time so I guess maybe a mouse could have gotten in and done something to one of the wires? I didn't see any evidence or problems with any other gauges. I did have to replace the seals in the transmission and gasket cover I guess from age. Thanks.

Trace all the dash gauge wires to find out if you have any shorts or open circuits. Good luck with your project.

Jeff, make sure you have the correct bolt in the corresponding location. The bolts should be two different lengths. It's a tight fix but you should be able to tighten bolts with a wrench. Good luck with you project. Thanks for the comment.

The Vercelli Strada II have a similar noise and performance rating to the stock Goodyear Eagle RS- A tires. Vercelli Strada II cost a friction of the stock tire price. I would rate the noise level 7.5 out of 10 with 10 being the quietest. Every tire you can buy has it's unique advantages. Be it price or all out performance in a given condition. The overheating may be cause by trapped air in the cooling system. Make sure the front of the car is just a bit higher than the back which should help in the air bleeding process. Hope you can resolve the overheating issue. Thanks for the comment.

Same I have an overheating issue also. My foxbody heats up in traffic but in speed while running it cools down

Raising the front of the mustang may help the air bleed process. Also make sure the heater set to hot and on when bleeding the cooling system.

@@reversemello9618 One of the best things you can do for these cars is to get you a electric fan, thats why every car made today has one and in 94 when they came up with the new Mustang bodystyle they went to a electric fan also. Clutch fans are ok but not very good and as they deteriorate they get worse,i put a electric fan on my 91 and haven't had any overheating issue anymore,you do have to upgrade the alternator when you do this but thats also a must, the alternators that came with these cars are really good as doorstops, thats about it. On the burping issue,what happens is most people fill the car up with coolant after a repair and then just forget about it and the car starts overheating,you have to continually check the coolant level to take up the space as the air leaves the cooling system, i have had to do that like a solid week until the car is full of coolant again, Ive never had to burp the system or put it on stands or anything like that, matter of fact i just put a new engine in my 89 and never had to do anything and that was a new engine that was bone dry to begin with. To give you a idea how finicky the cooling system is..... you can actually open your radiator petcock and drain a gallon of antifreeze, try to put it back in, it wont fit and thats with a stone cold engine,not like the thermostat is open and the coolant has gone anywhere,lol ,drive it for 30 minutes, wait till it cools and you'll be able to add a little more,then a little more the next day and so forth till that whole gallon is back in the car, like magic.

Yes the raptor liner was removed. The old raptor liner can be removed with heavy sanding using 80 grit or paint stripper. In the case of our project jeep it was sanded and then prepped to paint. Thanks for your comment.
