Underwater Camera in Crawfish Trap & Summer Time Trout
Happy to be uploading a full video for the first time in 6 months. This video covers my trip to Goldwater Lake in Prescott, AZ. I visited in early June 2023. During this time of year, Crawfish are incredibly active, so I decided to put a camera in my trap to see how exactly they approached the trap. Goldwater is also loaded with rainbow trout this time of year, so I took some time to catch a few while my trap soaked.

Lake Pleasant Donkeys
มุมมอง 241ปีที่แล้ว
First upload in a few months. Fishing has been slow for me lately, so I just haven't had much worth turning into a video. My interaction with some of the Donkeys around Lake Pleasant was fun however. They're pretty tame, but I made it a point to maintain a safe distance - more because I didn't want to cause them any unnecessary stress. I hope to have a video where I actually catch fish uploaded...
Desert Trout Freezing Temps

It's trout season in the desert, here in Arizona. The community ponds haven't been stocked yet, but the Lower Salt River started being stocked with rainbow trout in October. This latest trip was a little after Thanksgiving, but the local temps are already dropping. It was just 28 degrees when the sun came up. My goal of this trip was to focus on using my favorite trout lures, and it ended up be...
How I Fish w/Flies on an Ultralight Spinning Rod

I recently made my annual day trip up to Sedona, AZ to do some trout fishing. Sedona's Oak Creek is a great place to catch Rainbow, Brown, and Gila Trout... I decided to try using a couple of different bugs and flies on my ultralight spinning rod. Pioneer Lake loaded with catfish (First Visit)
มุมมอง 1.4K2 ปีที่แล้ว
It’s finally getting cool enough to fish again in the Arizona desert. Around this time of year, catfish start getting stocked in all of our local lakes, and it’s a great opportunity to catch lots of fish in a short period of time. I decided to try out Pioneer Lake in Peoria, AZ, for the first time, and it ended up being a really good time. I used my favorite catfish bait - chicken liver. While ...

Javelina stop me in my tracks...

No actual fishing in this video, but I thought it would be interesting to share... While hiking a bit off the beaten path to try to reach a fishing spot, just off the shore of Lake Pleasant, I came across a family of Javelina. Just a heads up, in Arizona, it is illegal to use any live bait that you caught or otherwise to catch fish. So you might want to edit out fishing with a craw you caught. Just letting you know, look it up if you don't believe me.

    • @fishingjunkie5436
      @fishingjunkie5436 ปีที่แล้ว

      I looked them up before I went to the lake. It’s ok to use live crawfish for bait, you just can’t transport them from one body of water to another.

    • @fishingjunkie5436

      Personally, I like a 6ft Ugly Stick made by Shakespeare. It’s affordable, durable, and can be used for a range of species - except maybe trout. Trout bite really lightly, and 6ft Ugly Sticks are a little heavier of a rod. Ugly Sticks often come with decent reels as well.
