Gus Does Stuff
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 2 มี.ค. 2024
I am Gus, and I do stuff. What do I do? Well, what don't I do? You'll have to watch to find out, but I think that it is safe to say that I get involved in a menagerie of things from vehicle repair, home repair and building projects, outdoor activities, 3D printing, music and television, cooking and baking, cleaning, breaking things, yard work, computers, vintage things, buying and selling and buying to sell, analysis, shopping, making deals, talking to customer service, and much more to be added as we go along. So, come along on one or ten of my doing stuff videos and either learn something, laugh and be entertained, scratch your head in wonderment or confusion, or wonder why are you watching this video and then move on to the next one in curiosity.
Save $500 Replace Shingles in the Middle of Our Roof
Our roof developed a leak over our bedroom. When it rains hard enough, the water will gather in the ceiling, flow to the window, and leak out of the wood work. I finally got up there and replaced the shingles. This video is not a step by step instruction video, but it lays out and shows the basics to doing this kind of roof repair. I already had extra shingles on hand, so there was no cost to this repair at all. The cost of the shingles would be in addition to the potential $500 to have a roofer do the repair. Given the economy and current prices, $500 may be cheap for this repair.

Get rid if these trees before someone gets killed
มุมมอง 413 หลายเดือนก่อน
We had several dead ash trees along the edge of the woods due to the emerald ash borer. Along with those, there were some dead pine trees and a black walnut that was hanging close to the house. I had a recommendation from friend for a tree cutting service who can climb trees when necessary to avoid hitting structures or other landscaping. This service is: Joesph Weidlich tree cutting 570 885-14...
Clean your dryer before it starts a fire

This video shows the process of taking apart our older 1989 Kenmore electric dryer and cleaning the lint from all different places that could not be done with a long dryer brush and shop vac. Lint could build up in these unreachable places and could potentially start a fire. I do this process every two years or so and in the mean time, clean out the lint screen after every use and regularly cle...

After I started driving this 1989 Cadillac for a week or so, the driver's window stopped working. I show the disassembly of the door and the replacement of the broken plastic slide. I discover all of the tricky little areas to watch for when doing this yourself. I hope this helps someone avoid breaking something. Might be easier if you turn on the lights.
Haha maybe. It wasn't really as dark as it looks in the video. I had a lamp on behind me and a headlamp that I used to brighten it up for the camera. I hope to get some better videoing setups. I figured I would just start making videos when I'm working on something. Thanks for viewing. I appreciate any interest in what I'm doing.
