Jimmy Hawkins playing "Scotty" again, one of the guys in the group of kids, got a lot of acting work from the Donna Reed Show aside from other shows, often mo e important speaking parts. He did other TV shows, Elvis Movies etc. He was Little Tommy Bailey in It's a Wonderful Life in 1946 at age 6, with Donna Reed and Jimmy Sterwart as his parents with other "siblings." OIt pays to have connections with the best if you're an actor. donna's husband and herelf were the producers of her show So Jimmy probably had an automatic pass, besides being a good actor, to get on the show when needed.

The guy playing Paul's friend Scotty in the beginning is actor Jimmy Hawkins, who played 6 year old Tommy Bailey in the 1946 film It's a Wonderful Life, with Donna Reed as the mother. It's kind of charming that he worked on Donna Reed's show several times years later and was reunited with Donna. He was in many other sitcoms and movies but to work with each other again often must have been special to them both. Of course, that's the tallest 6 year old I've ever seen. Apparently as of this writing he is still with us in his mid 80's. A younger "Scotty" played by Jimmy was also a friend , sometimes boyfriend of Shelley Fabrares on the show.

Compare the disrespectful brats on shows like roseanne and married with children, this is what current young people think are funny. The fathers are portrayed as idiots and the grandparents as old irrelevant people. This sadly mirrors today!! Families are not the center of kids lives their friends and cell phones are!!

As of now, in the age of Trump, this episode really hits home. Since the republicans have gone back to the stone ages and are doing everything to make women less than human. Like a thing to be dominated; and put in their place. But time has passed them by; and their desire to rule over everything as though it were an animal kingdom has lost traction. And will go the way of extinction; never to be seen again.

No not quite but things were a lot simpler less complicated. There was no internet no home computers and most people only had 1 phone and b/w tv and families had one income. There was certainly less and no mass shootings less contention hatred and polarization A weeks worth groceries was about $60 candy bar were 5 or 10 cents. Comic books were 10 cents with more pages to read about your favourite super hero... Rent or mortgage was much cheaper... People had respect for authority the education system and the media. People could leave thier doors unlocked and not worry about someone trying to break in or grab your kid. People were more God oriented and patriotic.
