We retired in 2021 and began traveling in and out of our camper van. From Cruising, and international travel, to camping in the US, Mexico, and Canada, join us on Our Midlife Adventures.
We bought a Promaster Van in February 2019 while Robin was going through chemo for her second breast cancer. We slowly built out the van and completed the build for $7k.
We are Rich and Robin a California couple that met in high school and married 7 years later. We grew up in Northern California moved to Southern California and raised our 3 children. After being married 35 years we recently retired and started traveling in our van and abroad. We love sharing our travels to encourage others to get outside and explore the world and new experiences. We love outdoor adventure & travel! From hiking in the mountains, scuba diving, snorkeling, and camping beachside along the Pacific Coast and throughout the Baja Peninsula.

We took 1 Year Flying with Frontier Airlines All You Can Fly Go Wild Pass. Where did it take us? We fly 30 times in the year domestically and to 3 international countries. We visited Costa Rica, Punta Cana, and Cancun with our pass. We booked a last minute cruise out of Galveston and then used our Go Wild Pass for last minute flights to Houston Texas. We also made multiple visits to our son's in Colorado.

I'm a little concerned with all the recent dropped routes from Frontier. Still hoping to get my money's worth out of it before May 1st of 2025. If I get in the 30s in flights I'll be happy.
We feel you. They are always changing routes. Thankfully they have added Sacramento flights from 2 of our local airport daily so currently that is great for us since we have family up that way. Hope you hit 30 flights and more. Safe Travels

Just discovered your channel. It was fascinating watching your vlogs of your long cruise with Carnival. We have cruised three times with that line and have a short one coming up in the fall. What amazed me was your January 3-11, 2023 Regal Princess cruise. We were on that ship with you. We drove five hours one day and then five hours the second to keep from flying. It is so much fun watching your daily vlogs on that cruise. This is the first time we have ever found vloggers/creators who have filmed a cruise we were on at the same time. You did a great job of showing the inside and outside of the Regal as well as doing an outstanding job of showing all the ports of call. Looking forward to watching your future trips.

You only had 17 ports in 33 days?? So 16 at sea? That’s ridiculous and why we quit sailing on Carnival. We are booked on another line for 6 cruises back to back, same cabin, for 67 nights and have only 20 days at sea. We are doing South America, South America to Germany, 2 Baltic cruises and 2 Norway cruises.
Only 8 sea days for the 33 days of sailing over 3 cruises, but then had some cancelled ports. Also we returned to Dover 2 times during our 33 days so not really a sea day but turn airing day. Only way to get to places like Estonia, Finland and Iceland from Dover is to have some seas days which we enjoy. Hope you have a great 67 night trip. We have South America on our list for sure. Enjoy.
I would absolutely love staying on the Pride for a month. I live right by the Baltimore Harbour and just returned from our cruise July 7th. Were you guys onboard with us then?
We haven’t cruised out of Baltimore yet. Hopefully in the future. We only cruised in the Pride out of Dover England.

How come you kept changing cabins
Since we booked our cruises last minute we could not get the same room on each cruise. The room change was very easy they brought us a hanging rack to just move all the closet items easily without having to pack them up again.

We went on a cruise with my parents and sister and brother in law. It was a 19 day cruise and that was enough for me, I wanted regular food, a peanut butter sandwich!🤣🤣 You guys are traveling magnets!🤣 I have been in North Carolina now for 2 months and we will be home by the first week in September, I will be ready to be home!🤣 So glad you are able to travel and enjoy life!🤗💖💖💖

Hello :) Does it have Air Conditioning to use during the night?
Unfortunately, no air-conditioning but there are two openings in the roof to let in fresh air and the windows crack open as well with screens. There’s no generator so no way to run an air-conditioning in the evening.

Yes, we couldn't bring in pepper spray but the bea spray as long as it says "intended for use on animals" is allowed.
What is the maximum width of a vehicle that can get through those gates?
The maximum width is 50".
It's faster and safer through highway {1|} rather than going to San Felipe through the Dangerous {5}, Don't make sense to me.
We have done each route multiple times. We like driving down Highway 1 when the weather is good and enjoy the views. San Felipe we enjoy for some great tacos on the Malecon.
What you should have done to be on the safe side is filled up San Quintin or El Rosario -
But 45 min before Guerrero negro, there is gas in Villa Jesus Maria - FYI
Ya our original plan was to get gas in El Rossario but we just passed through without thinking. Thankfully we had filled up in Ensenada so we had plenty of gas to get to Guerro Negro.

Hey, thank you so much for the great video. I have a couple of questions, and I'd be grateful if you could help me. 1. Insurance. When booking on the website, there is the 'protection plan', i am 24 and so they only offer the basic. Is this technically the insurance. Or will I then have to get more insurance ontop of this upon arrival? 2. In the 'essentials travel kit' package. Firstly, do you think this is worth it? Secondly, is the bedding kit, just for 1 bed or 2 beds, with this van? Thank you😊.
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it. We have rented 2 more campervans from Indie now. We always get the Premium Protection Plan with provides extra insurance. Otherwise the Basic Protection Plan comes with a higher deposit and deductible of anything happens. We also get the Essentials kit. When we traveled with 4 people it comes with bedding for 2 beds. Our last trip was just the two of us and we only received bedding for one bed.
I live in Dallas, and my next London trip is business class, so I was curious about the arrival lounge at LHR. No amount of online search helps quite like seeing a video on it. Thank you!

Thanks for watching! Going into Mexico no. But coming back we always take the Sentri lane in Mexicali to Calexico. Most the time about 10 minutes. One time it was about a 20+ minute back up. You’ll have a great time especially in your Regal.
