Live Lesson - Swing Plane & Fold Release Thru - Fixed Swing Under 5mins⛳️
Amateur Golfers tend to swing way too much around their body. now you've gotta time the handle & the face - NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.
**Golf Swing Fixed at 4:48min mark**
If We can unstand where the plane is & how to release from it - We will be swinging more consistant thru the golf ball.
For MOST Golfers, the Plane is a lot higher than you think - Keep your body frontal to it, If you twist off of it, We're back to square one, Check out Scottie Scheffler Below!

I’ve been using your method for about a year now. Took three lessons last summer and really struggled to understand the difference between transverse and frontal planes. One of your other videos gave me an aha moment and my swing has improved significantly. Periodically I will strike the ball on the hosel and end up in a bad spot on the course. Can you address this issue and a cure in a future video.

Thanks for another video... keep them coming !.... I watch them several times and send them to my friends... I even made a couple of videos about you on my "Steven Vig" youtube channel... I have a question... i am a 71 year old golfer with poor shoulder turn and poor hip turn on the backswing.... i was hoping to get more shoulder turn by increasing my hip turn on the backswing... However, i was worried that a bigger hip and shoulder turn might get me out of the frontal plane and too much into the transverse plane.... Is it possible to increase my hip and shoulder turn and maybe take my arms up more vertical on the backswing to avoid going too deep with my arms and club on the backswing.... steven vig

love your videos.... this student learns very quickly. His new backswing looks great. please keep more videos coming...we missed you. For me, the feeling is that I am casting the clubhead to the sky as high as I can, while swinging the club forward and then swing thru to the finish....it gives me a huge arc and more time to increase forward speed of the clubhead . can you do a video of this release feel? In other words, I try to swing the biggest "circle" I can in my forward from the very top. Your channel will grow if you can keep posting more videos.

For some players, you’ll have to swing the driver a little lower than this plane - that’s all due to body mechanics/function etc - so if the swing that ‘high’ doesn’t work for driver, lower a bit or flatten it a bit, however you wanna think about it. However, if you lower it - you cannot feel the ‘cut at the bottom’ you might have to feel it close and go out toward the right a bit - driver hits up in the ball which is why for some golfers, it’s an opposite feeling than their irons. Hope that helps!

Tired of hearing Jack being misquoted. He never even came close to saying " there is no point in the golf swing that is too early to release." That would be a ludicrous thing to say because early release is something that 99 percent of golfers can execute with ease.. What he said was that " it's impossible to release the club too early, as long as you move to your left side FIRST." Teachers who don't teach the "handle dragging" method like to misquote Jack in order to promote their method of actively releasing the club. Your method is a valid one, but so is the handle dragging method. People who don't know the proper way to execute it, end up slicing or shanking because they are holding on to the handle with a death grip. So that's where the method gets its negative publicity from. To be great handle dragger requires a soft, tension free grip and something called " float loading". Sergio Garcia is a great float loader. He has a video where he talks about pulling the handle. His father taught him to think of it as pulling down on a chain. The method has also been called "tolling the bell". It's the simplest method because it requires no timing of the release, as your method does. Your method has a different release point (folding point) for every club. The Golfing Machine calls it "Aimpoint". So it's nothing new. There is no release point when pulling. Physics takes care of the release via centrifugal/centripetal force.. You just have to allow it to happen via a tension free grip.

I've played golf semi-competently for 60 years, and have gotten it around pretty good, club golf, for the most part - it helped that I was always a fair pitch/chip player and also a good putter, which masked the problems of the endless series of changes and experiments in the rest of my game. I long tried to emulate David Duval with iron shots, where his right hand was clearly "under" in the follow-through, a la Mike Austin, a real "throw" of the clubhead. so then I watch Mr Alton, and try to adopt this thesis of how to move the club, the sweetspot, into and through the ball. at the local range, certainly some mishits (thins, mainly, 1 semi-shank), it's hard to describe how my old body was getting the sweetspot onto the back of the ball, in general, doing this stuff - I mean, just hammering some iron shots - carrying a 7 iron 158, a bit of a fade, some of them straight as a string. A few pitching wedges apexing at 105 feet to 117 yard carry - last week I couldn't get 70 feet apex and 90 yards carry. I hit one 58-deg SW 95 yards, thumped, pure -- for me! and I felt like I was barely even "going at" the strike - just concentrating on the release/fold. I would love to get a couple or 3 1-hour lessons from Mr Alton. I'd jump on a plane without a second thought!

It also feels like very little rotation, so it's surprising that the ball travels as far as it does. I was expecting to lose a ton of yardage with this swing, but that didn't happen. Gained consistency tho. And yes, it did feel like I was releasing at the top of the swing, but that didn't result in casting the club. Very different from the way I was previously swinging.
