Nice. I didn't realize that they had torn down the large nick nack - furniture store right at the end and it looks like they put in a green park space? It also looks like there are still more than a few empty store sections just above ground level on Main Street.
Yes, you're right. Lou's antiques moved across the river and they are currently looking for a developer to construct a new building/structure on that corner. And one day, all these shops will be open on Main Street again!

Watched this a few times, there used to be a house underneath the water tower next to the watwr shed. My cousins lived there. Also, my grandparents house used to be the last hoise before the what i remember as US Cellular building and White's Building Supply. It is now the parking lot.
And I used to play football with some buddies under that water tower!

I moved from Hampton va too martinville back in 2000 to be with my daughter I only stayed there for half a year couldn't find a job there not what I was use too love the town but no jobs so I moved back home

Yes lots of trees and mountain being leveled there now, but let's hope that it will be positive influence to SWVA. For instance, there will be some more awesome views from each side of the highway when complete!

Really beautiful drone video. Nice opening showing the 1st Presbyterian Church, where I was baptized (as an infant). Amazing that the Danville skyline hasn't changed that much since I was a kid.
