What do Sedona & Jerome look like in the snow?
Sedona has had some recent snowstorms, and we went up there to enjoy it. The snow subsided long enough to get some beautiful drone shots. After Sedona, we drove through the ghost town of Jerome, then up and over Mingus Mountain. Enjoy!

(STOP DELETING MY MESSAGE) Lets try this again. This place was built in 1978 by a Dr and his wife from scottsdale. The home was just shy of being completed in 1982 when her husband died. From my friend (Knew them He is in his 50's now) He said she went out several times but it was to far for her to travel in age. The house was literally just shy of being finished. There was stuff behind it and it was stolen over time. The place was a huge party place in the 80 and early 90's until they had a caretaker live below. The place has basically been destroyed by winds overtime. I have been here before many many years ago when the road behind it was open to riders. Nothing to see here now as a majority of the house has collapsed from what im told. Shame he never got to see his dream finished. I have heard about cameras and such i would advise not anyone going for your safety and such.
The caretakers a very protective, they have trail cams and motion sensors. Trespassers have been cited and arrested. The only way to legally see it, is with a drone like this guy did. The story behind it, a doctor or dentist was building it for him and his wife. He died before it was finished.
Ive been there once in 2008 Really cool and there wasn't a caretaker then. The place was in pretty good condition for the most part the roof had now been off partially yet. Shame they let it go. I asked my friend why the family let it go and his response was he didn't know. The family really didn't share much about the house to the family
Yes, where the hell is this located? Nobody’s talking who put the video up. I want to see this damn house. Where is it?😮
Boy, you slaughtered the "Slum-Gulley-An" name bigtime...lol
Beautiful
Your drone footage is fabulous! Love this video!
Setlist
Well, I didn't know this. I guess I haven't had a good look at it. Thanks for the video.
Wait, you mean that's not the backup ignition switch?!?!
Did you know there's also a little secret compartment under the center console lid??!!
Duuuhhh
great drone views
was the road ok leaving Crown King?
Are you still in your Jeep, waiting for a go ahead answer?
Some people just make a video on any damn thing 😆😮💨🙄
Drone videos really demonstrate the majesty and raw beauty of the mountains.
Another great video, with wonderful drone shots. You may be interested to know about Otto Mears, the "Pathfinder of the San Juans." He built the Silverton Railroad north from Silveron to Red Mountain and Guston. Then he built the Rio Grande Southern Railroad, which linked Durango with Dolores, Rico, Ophir, Telluride, Pandora and Ridgway. There was a Rio Grande branch from Ridgway to Ouray. I first discovered the San Juans with my 1954 CJ3B in 1971.😊
I find this stuff super interesting. I mentioned him in a previous episode!
Very enjoyable video. Family vacation in 2002 included a jeep trip from Ouray to the Pass. I especially enjoyed the drone shots, which helped give spatial relationships between Smuggler, Tomboy, the pass, Camp Bird, etc.
considering how many people drive the BBP you'd think the forest service or anyone would angle the parts of the road into the cliff side .
They've been doing this for 30 years. Videos like this are why it sucks owning a Jeep now a days..
Wow. So does the JK and TJ 😅
Very nice video. I was up there the same time last year. The drone footage was very cool.
Earth is new/young. God’s creation is amazing…don’t listen to imbecile scientists talking about millions and billions of whatever…space/years/fossil records blah blah theories
Did u know that they also have a door locking feature as well as a trunk locking feature
Did you know that most Jeeps have steering wheels?😂😂
Born and raised in Colorado. I've been all over and have not even started seeing the beauty it has to offer. Thank you for sharing your adventure with us. Also great narration on the history of the areas you explored.
If you can’t figure that out on your own you don’t need it
I'll bet THAT ripped some snorts!
What month was this trip filmed? I’m getting ready to head to Colorado soon 😎✌🏻
Late July
Negative Lightning. The vast and most popular type of lightning.
Beautiful!
Those stepped leaders are absolutely incredible!
Loving the videos so far. I'll probably have a couple of questions for you because we are heading out to Ouray the last week of August this summer. When were your dates out there? We were going to go at the end of July but pushed it back to end of August to hopefully miss the peak of monsoon season. It's probably still going to rain on us but maybe not quite as severe as end of July/beginning of August. Thanks.
We went from July 21st to August 2nd. You may get less rain at the end of August.
Rained just about every day around 2 or 3.
Very nicely done. I’ve used the same music in my AZ videos. You’ve got a new subscriber.
Awesome! Thank you!
Is every video narrated?
No, the older ones have no narration.
Thank you for sharing your video's.
Glad you like them!
Where do you stop to get your jeep badges at? Ive been on alot of trails in silverton and oury never stopped to get badges
I ordered them through the Jeep Badge of Honor app. They arrived through the mail after we got home. I then made it appear that I was putting the badges on the Jeep as we went. Deception!
Beautiful and enjoyable video, but why do you turn the music so loud between commentaries ?? I fussed constantly with the volume. Seems like it's the common thing.
Thank you for the comment! I agree with your criticism of the sound. I think I've improved this in my most recent videos.
Awesome video! We went to Colorado for the first time last September… can’t wait to go back. A truly beautiful area to explore!
We are thinking of going again this year. Last year, I thought...there is water everywhere, but with record snowfall this year, it should be even better.
Awesome scenery! I took a friend last September on a quick trip around Colorado. US 550 is a gem, but then again, so much of Colorado is stunningly beautiful. Thanks!
I agree! Thanks for watching
Was raised in Flagstaff, One year we had so much they set up a ski hill in town. I have seen 550 plus inches of snow and over 6 foot of snow in 4 days, BUT I have seen where Flagstaff had to haul water in by rail car.
Wow awesome video
Thanks
Nice work on this
Thanks for watching
@@primitiveroad3530 thanks for creating the content for me to watch!
When do you do this trip?
We went at the end of July 2022
Loved watching this video and for the icing on the cake at the end when you are driving on highway 145 towards Cortez you pass priest gulch campground we and our silver Gladiator are parked in front of the office at the 17:37 mark. We never expected to see ourselves in anyone's video. 👍
That's awesome! What are the odds of you finding the correct video and find the correct few seconds in that video to see yourselves? Glad you found it.
The rear seats too
Where?
Nice Video man. I can give you some cool locations by winkelman to shoot as well or to hike to. I plan on going soon
I have been in the Winkelman/Dudleyville area before. Lots of mining around there. I may have a chance to get back down there in the next 6 months. Please let me know any location that you think would be good!
@@primitiveroad3530 Do you have and Email or Instagram? I dont like to post Locations publicly because people will go and steal stuff. I posted a location four months ago and someone went and stole the grills off some nice 50's cars. I got the location of that House by the way from a friend that offroads out there. I can shoot you some more info on it. I just didn't want to say the exact area as people steal shit. I can also give you some more GPS of some houses out there. There is one more on a ridge out there.
@@primitiveroad3530 Been two weeks are you going to answer?
Lol never noticed. Thanks
ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!! My dream home would be in Steamboat Springs. This mountain in Kentucky ain't too shabby, either! 😊 Happy Holidays to you and your family!
Awesome!😎
Great videos. Very informative. Love your use of historical pictures to compare to. We are doing a 6 week RV trip to CO & UT Aug 25-Oct 8, 2023 from FL. Plan on doing a lot of Jeep Badge trails. Like you I think Black Bear is going to be a lot less scary than the gondola ride. I don’t do man made heights very well. Lol.
Right! The gondola is scarier because I have zero control. At least I have control of whether I live or die on black bear.
If you are going to be staying in the Ouray, CO area, I would highly recommend 4j campground. They have laundry, showers, flush toilets, and are walking distance to main street. There are other campgrounds in the area, such as Thisledown and Angel Creek, but those campgrounds aren't as nice, and are out of town several miles. Amphitheater campground is close to main street, but it's a severely uphill/downhill hike to get to main street. This may be a non-issue to you as you could just use the jeep to drive to town. For us, the easy walking distance was important. www.4jrvpark.com/
@@primitiveroad3530 thanks for the tip. We are planning to boondock outside Silverton on Mineral Creek for 5 nights. Then one night in an RV park in Silverton to dump tanks. I’ll keep this in mind just in case.
