Chainsaw Bar cleaning trick you might have overlooked
@2:30 pouring dishsoap in the hole. In another video i saw, he said only do the dishsoap trick at night. He got stung when he did it in the daytime.
Nice and simple. Thanks for the video! Really helpful.
dude keeps calling the wasps bees...
I believe your supposed to do this at night🤔🤔
Your right, but this happened while we were at work and we had to stop the wasps before we could finish
Limited tools?! Ha ha…proceeds to show zip lining and talks about porta-wrap. I use these things too, but when I started in the business 30 years ago, the company I worked for had zero (and I mean ZERO) rigging equipment (not even a single carabiner was to be found). All lowering was done from natural crotches, our “friction device” was wraps around the trunk and our chainsaw lanyards were a length of twine. YIKES! Our climbing equipment was likewise sketchy…ropes that were used for climbing one day and lowering the next, very rudimentary saddles, a lineman-type belt as a flip line (impossible to adjust while aloft) and no PPE. I’m lucky I survived my first few years (I gained a lot of experience the hard way…not something I’d recommend!). I’d never want to go back…things are so much more efficient and safer today (and no….I haven’t worked for that original company in many years)
Did you guys ever break ropes false crotching everything?
@@oneministries4878 Do you mean natural crotches? No…never broke any ropes. I think modern rigging gear encourages crews to take bigger pieces now days…big bull ropes, false crotches and lowering devices let you deal with pieces that are a lot bigger than anything I would have attempted with the rope running over a branch stub and the ground guy trying to guess how many wraps around the trunk he should take. Things were a lot slower then, and less controlled. When I started using a false crotch, I thought, “This is great!…I can lower from any spot I want to, no matter if a crotch is nearby or not!”
He’s hot
So is it a parasitic plant? Some say it isnt
Great demonstration video. 💪 Thank you!
Dish detergent plus a big pot of boiling water. Killed off a ground nest that way this morning just as the sun came up
Can you recommend a fast growing shade , non invasive roots without pest issues planting near a house? Thanks
This is the problem we all face, if it grows fast with big leaves, it has aggressive roots.
What about a green or California ash tree? Leaves are small but it says ash can get to 80ft
Will you do anything about the roots that are lifting the driveway and steps?
Yes, we ground the stump and that stopped the roots from lifting the house.
Brake cleaner.
Soap breaks the surface tension. They drown in a thimble of soap.
Ok.but since 2 guys use tag line ..
Topping trees is terrible, but sometimes fruit trees go a long time without proper maintenance and they do it to catch up. I doubt it ever benefits the tree, but sometimes it makes future fruit production more available.
Thanks for this helpful video - Ivy and a Laurel tree has been competing with a well established hardy hawthorn. The Ivy cross section was 3 inches and a no wonder the hawthorn was overrun.
4:19 This looks personal! 😂😂
I swear these things can smell fear. I have a phobia of ground Yellow jacket nests, because I've been stung so many times. Anytime I go near a nest like this they're all over me constantly. Even during the video if I'd been as close as he is I'm sure I'd have been getting lit up. Seems like his calm demeanor makes a big difference.
Awesome video! Great to see what the chips look like in real life, plus tips on how to mulch. Very helpful for folks!
What type of saw is that?
You know, you're the author of the channel.
Of course, it’s a joke.
Backing up a longer trailer is easier. Thanks for the video!
I guess everyone does trees differently. I know I leave money on the table but my buddy and I would charge $3,000 for that tree with complete removal, stump grinding and clean up.
I'll bet rubbing alcohol would work like gasoline and it evaporates with little impact.
An ounce of Gasoline has NO effect on vegetation
Does he keep saying bees? Who kills bees anymore?
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! Works like magic!
Great stuff, whr are you located in the world if you don't mind me asking?
Great video! Tulip poplar is TN. state tree! Very informative! Thank you!
Kewl
Ground guys are extremely slow
Tree service is not a race ..EVER...in hurry go home..they just need tag line
Feed away from traffic
Do you mean park against traffic or only feed on the side away from the road?
Trying to solve a simular situation but the nest entrance is on a slope and the entrance slopes downward. I can't get anything up into it.
Thanks for taking the time to produce this video, very helpful
Why do you reckon there are many, many products on the market to kill insects? You are telling me some liquid soap does the same job? HMMM, I wonder why TH-cam allows this to be posted on their site? LOL!!
Why do the extermination during the day when you risk getting stung? Do it at night!! DUHH!!
Working on a tree contract for a customer, if we didn’t finish the job we wouldn’t get paid and we definitely aren’t coming back at night, so yeah no Duhhh
@@oneministries4878 Yeah - and you'll never work for me with an attitude like that.
@@joesinakandid528 yeah, no duhhh
that a $7800 bid
Outstanding! Great job. Thank you for taking the time to produce this very informative video.
Thanks for watching
Those aphids are farmed by ants. Essentially they are ant cattle. 😂
Great video. I'm thinking about using a poplar as a fast growing trellis for a honeysuckle plant, but this was a lovely distraction. (The plan is to kill my poplar after a couple years by removing an inch of the Cambian layer around the whole tree's circumference. Maybe use concrete, gravel, or some coppery fungicide for the top 6" to 12" of soil to slow the rot.)
The black sticky stuff it drops is horrible
stupid utube censors try to tell someone an easy way to get rids of these and you fools delete it
lol...How do I know if ours is real?
Love the helmet and face shield! I gotta get one of those😂
No knife is good for prying. In fact a lot of warranties specifically say that damage to a blade as a result of prying is not covered under warranty.
You got the Latin name wrong. This is not a member of the genus Populus. It's not even in that family. This is a member of the 2 genus Magnolia family, and the proper species name is Liriodendron tulipifera. It's called "yellow poplar" in the lumber trade due to the similarity of its lumber to that of trees in the Populus genus, but it is not a poplar. Or a tulip for that matter. This is the American representative of the 2 species genus Liriodendron. The other is Liriodendron chinense. The American species is the tallest North American hardwood (angiosperm or flowering plant/tree) and the tallest tree species east of the Mississippi. A tree in Tennessee has been tape-dropped repeatedly at 191' tall. Thought I'd help clarify since the first sentence has incorrect, scientifically and verifiably false information about the botanical name of the tree.
You’re right, and we already talked about it in the replies.
Nice yard area.
I'm trying to fix this exact issue on a tree in our backyard. There's a few huge roots with smaller ones tangled on top and I had no idea how to get them off without damaging the trunk. I'll pick up a handsaw!
This shit is hard work. People have no idea
If you need to level a yard with trees what do you do? Can you backfill around them with rock?
I use Waste Management Bagsters, used to use tarps much more often. They sell them for about $30 each at Lowes. Pickup service is extra and I don't pay for or schedule service. I can pick them up with my loader's grapple or tow them behind my loader. I use them for small twigs and stump grindings. Like tarps, they don't last forever, but still are totally worth it.
Yep, well worth using
