I got some 🎉
Hey, I saw you at the crab festival and Mississippi
I can give you a shout out if you want
Awesome fish. And to have your son there with you makes it more special
thanks man. yeah that really made it special
I like your merch I have a hat and it’s my favorite, keep posting good content
thanks man
Nice fish...not that big. It probably died after you released it.
it swam away strong
Movie A RIVER RUNS THROUGH IT fishing scenes were filmed on the Gallatin. I was there when they were filming.....
very cool
Way too much time was spent on landing him. Bad form.
thanks for your comment and support
Well done! Up there the water temps are much cooler so the fish recovery times are exceptional.
One inexperienced, naive ,dumb angler !Should have landed that fish in no more than 5-6 minutes. And should NEVER have carried the fish across the river in the net. Likely killed the fish unnecessarily.
That's huge! I've guided and caught lots of fish there, but nothing approaching that size!
yeah. that's what the shop said. everyone is giving me grief for taking so long to get him in but I had really light tippet because I was expecting 12 inch rainbows
Size matters!
One of the biggest mistakes anglers make is chasing. Hold your ground, trust your rod and knots. Notice how much harder it got when he reached the fast water
he was already in fast water behind a rock when I hooked him. I actually thought I was caught on the bottom because when I was pulling my line in, it felt like I was going to break my light tippet. then I realized it was a fish. he was in that fast current and I had to work him down to the slower water.
Excellent, thanks for posting this!
thanks for watching. glad you enjoyed it
How much gulfwax did it take?
not much
@@southernhood5145 because that's all we had back then
I would have the hardest time trying to balance😂
I'm working on my balance and fitness
@@southernhood5145 right on man🤙🏼
I was on the west end. Small but FUN waves! Come on back now u hear.
good waves for an old slow guy like me
Amazing!!
Awesome job! Congrats. We just got back from there Tuesday evening. Spent two weeks in SW Montana - what a place
thanks man. kinda hard to beat for sure. did you get any fishing in
@@southernhood5145 yes. Fished with a guide a few days afyer we got there. Then fished several times after. I caught several but nothing over 15 inches or so
@jdfog2 all my other fish were probably less than 12. The shop said this fish was about as big as they get in that area
Great picture brother
thanks
Great fish! Congrats! Not gonna criticize as there's already plenty on here who have taken the opportunity to point out what you probably have already surmised in hind sight. I enjoyed your excitement! That's fun to watch anytime catches their PR.
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it
I remember buying stuff at the blueberry festival with my mom in Hattiesburg. My mom is Lindsey Steele. Thank you for the shirts. I still where them to this day.
thanks man. I really appreciate it. did you get a Turkey yet
@@southernhood5145Yes sir. I killed 3 with one shot the other day. Already tagged out on my first turkey hunt this year.
@@southernhood5145I also meant Poplarville not Hattiesburg
@@KamdenSteele_Football dang
Lmao she's got crush on you
Some dry bags are just completely out of sight price wise. Great video👍🏻
thanks. I'm still using mine all the time
Very impressive👍🏻
what an idiot
I live in pa and have all the same rights lmao. It’s not a northern thing. It’s a liberal thing. Get it right.
yea, but there are lots of liberal northern states that are anti 2nd amendment but no southern states are
It is a liberal thing and most states like New York and Michigan don’t even allow guns period. But others like Pennsylvania and Maine allow it. No reason to be a jerk about it.
I can’t smoke weed in southern states.
well I'm pretty sure smoking weed isn't a constitutional right, even though I don't have any issue with it. its actually not good for you unless you are using it for medical reasons
You obviously haven’t been to Idaho
no, but Idaho is probably one of best states in the country
only problem with the west is some states like Idaho are awesome but then you have Washington
I’ve walked in many of his footsteps. 😊
Wholesome, enjoy the time with people before you're times up.
Good ones man
thanks man
Cool thanks I have this in my cart and was wondering if it would be good.
Well crap, you got a shot of me marching with the pipe band
dang
Thanks. After seeing this, Im gonna get the 55L.
I love them
Where was that buck... not far
still haven't gotten a picture of him
Red Creek, close to the river
How is it holding up today? 😊 I’m looking into one and cat decide and how much weight can it hold ?
use them all the time and still in good shape
I feel like it can hold as much weight as you can carry
I bet that smile lasted a week!!!!
lol. it did. only caught a few more fish the rest of the week but was totally fine with it
@@southernhood5145 I lived in Big Sky for 2.5 years, I fished that river every chance i could. I would occasionally travel to Island Park Idaho to fish the Henrys Fork. Good Times.
@jonlebeau1963 you are a blessed man. I live in Mississippi and have been up there a few times but would love to spend more time
Keep your line tight and try to get down stream of him. Would have shortened the fight
i hope you kept and ate that fish, because you completely exhausted it in that fight. Sad to say there is no way it survived if you released it.
You’re wet waiting so the water is obviously on the warm side, and you really stress that fish. Don’t fight him so long, land him quickly, take your picture and get him back to his habitat. That’s what I would recommend next time and hopefully there’s another one just as good waiting for you.
Wrong
That was painful to watch.
Says who? Don’t be so self righteous
Your painful to listen to
@@user-jv2bc6pg1o You're*
Wow this is funny this is me in Jesus name amen...
Please don’t come back to Montana… your fish handling and landing skills are atrocious and served as an awful example to your son. (I’d have been ashamed to have posted this video.) BTW, it’s a rod not a “pole”. I’m from the South too, but a fly rod casts a line. A pole casts a lure. Moreover, you don’t grip the rod above the cork grip nor do you angle the rod over your shoulder behind you beyond 90 degrees to the stream. That is the quickest way to break the tip of your rod. And you needn’t beach a trout to land it. Keep the net in the water and keep the net submerged. Finally, you claimed that this trout swam away, so you assume it was fine. The truth is, Montana studies of brown trout show the post release mortality rates skyrocket when fish are overplayed, which was obvious when the trout went belly up. The fact that the trout swam away is not an indication that it was fine, as it was probably just carried downstream by the current to die. (You didn’t even make an effort to resuscitate the trout.) The Gallatin outside the Park has a daily creel limit of five with only one over 18”. You should have kept and ate this fine specimen, as your poor angling skills assure the rest of us that no one else will ever catch and release it.
my theme song!!! yee--yeee!!!!
it's a good one
Good on you for playing that song
How long do you think the meat will last?
depends on how cold it is
There you go
