Just fyi, the koi fish isn't exactly sacred. But it's a luxury. Those are really expensive pets in Japan. If it's big or old enough it can worth a fortune. The color and shape also has an affect on it's price tag. Hence you treat it with respect. I read on the news that a koi fish was regarded as Japan's national treasure because of how big and old it is. Owning Champion level koi is a sign of social status. Similar to bonsai. (a miniature pine tree in a pot)

Finally finished it! Well, I have a lot of thoughts but I'll keep to the main ones: I think I really needed to hear what the wife (can't remember her name) had to say. 1. I've been realizing lately that I on average spend 2 or less hours a day with my children. While I do feel that God is calling me to the work I'm doing, I think I also need to shift the way I approach my "responsibilities" in a way that allows me to have more of a relationship with my kids. Its been difficult for me--partially because my job is so demanding, and partially because I've always had my head in the clouds and tend to compartmentalize various areas of my life. Hearing her talk about how I think to bring the center of my focus back to my children was a very important reminder. 2. I LOVE how she talked about a husband as being "my someone." I--being a (female) Soldier--spend the majority of my time around men. Most of the people I know are men, and most pf my friends are men. On a cognitive level, I see how many of them could make amazing husbands, but I don't feel for them the way I do for my husband. My husband is not necessarily better than the men I know and am friends with, yet I ABSOLUTELY ADORE him. I find him to be an absolute treasure, because "he is my someome" and I'M the woman who gets to know him better than anyone. I don’t agree with everything she said (her view on marriage sounded like it alligns with the concept of "soul mates", though I'm not sure I understood her fully). And I don’t quite agree that segregating the children by sex is necessary (though I do understand it). Yet, I felt a little emotional hearing some of the things she had to say. Not all emotion is the same, but my intuition is telling me that the type of emotion I felt came from a place of needing to hear some of the things she said. All in all ("all in Allaman"? 😜), I think you did some FANTASTIC work, Bruther! Keep it up!

I live Los Angeles, California. I thought I make a lot of money, but with inflation and high tax I’m still leaving with roommates. Salary of $150k is considered lower middle class. Crazy huh. The damm governor just announced $2/g tax increase that coming soon. Costco gas (one of the cheapest) regular is going to be $6/g, assuming war tensions don’t escalate anymore. Big hope.
