Excellent question! The Harley audio industry is always evolving and American Hard Bag is always uncovering the best possible solutions. You got the good stuff and we have found a way to make it better. 2-3 years ago it was not physically possible for us to loan or rent these tools because TechnoResearch did not have a licensing program that would allow this to happen. As you know the DSR1 is a wildly popular DSP solution for Harley radio integration. This was not the case though when the DSR1 first hit the market. Rockford Fosgate *never intended* the DSR1 to be used in Harley applications. Rockford support used to tell our customers that we had sold them the wrong product!😲 Rockford was not aware that American Hard Bag had developed plug and play wire harnesses which accounted for the radios required output load and that we had also developed equalization tunes that accounted for the radios dynamic volume dependent equalization. That's what you have. Fast forward to today and tens of thousands of these have been used in bikes with wild success and Rockford now fully embraces the idea of these units in their own kits. American Hard Bag has been the largest single retailer of DSR1s for years now and we still are. For years though many of our customers struggled to gain access to TechnoResearches flash tools because they had to find a shop with the tool and not everyone lives near a shop with the tool. Additionally many shops do not understand how to properly configure the flash. The best solution for many people was to use the equalization power of the DSR1 to account for the radios baked in output equalizer. So we developed several solid DSR1 setup files that the entire Harley industry now uses. If you found 10 retailers today that offer a DSR1 tune for Harley, 9.5 of those would be a copy of a flash I personally wrote. I believed so strongly in the effectiveness and importance of a good radio counter tune on a DSR1 that we freely distributed them to all of our competitors as well as our customers. The best possible solution has always been a proper flash and equalization from a good DSP like the DSR1. And that is still the case. What changed the game was covid and our strong relationship with TechnoResearch. Due to Covid there were major product shortages and TechnoResearch reached out to us in an effort to collaborate on a creative solution. The result was our new rental and loan programs. By renting and loaning these tools we were able to provide the same service at a fraction of the cost and also not extinguish the few flash tools left on the planet. Now if you really want to push what can be done with your audio system you should get the proper radio flash and also use one of our new DSR1 tunes that are speaker specific and also radio flash specific. These new tunes account for may very advanced variables like parametric equalization, electronic phase shifts, and digital time alignment. The quest for sound is endless. And that's why I love it. It can always be improved upon.

Hey Jose! I've got to apologize, I did not see your comment months ago when you made it. Hopefully you gave us a call. The Infinity speakers are my absolute favorite right now for a drop in instant upgrade without the need for complex tuning. The Hertz SX165 is a close second, and the Cicada is great but needs a lot of DSP tuning to get to the end result. Ultimately you are never going to get a lot of bass out of just 6.5” speakers but the Infinity 600X speakers will have the best bass response and the best sound over all right out of the box. With any of these speakers I recommend the Velocity RZA500.2 two channel amplifier or the Double Trouble amplifier kit which consists of two RZA500.2 amplifiers with a very premo dual 8 gauge power kit. But another great option would be the Musway 4 channel amplifier with integrated DSP. The DSP in the Musway is very slick and way better than all of the other DSPs available except the Velocity 8. The Velocity 8 is the crazy option for the most demanding systems. Yes it can. This harness will give you direct access to all of the bikes speaker circuits without cutting any factory wires. The Soundstream unit has RCAs on it, so you will have the choice of using the RCAs from this harness (high level) or the RCAs on the radio (low level). The high level RCAs on this harness should be insulated ( taped up) though if they are not used since they carry a high level signal.

If you buy a Harley with the boom audio system your radio has already been flashed by the dealer the only time you have to flash a radio from Harley is it is new and never been put in or on a motorcycle before. The DSP in this video made by Rockford Fossgate you don’t have to flash your radio!
