Dr. Hassan Radoine

Dr. Hassan Radoine is currently Full-Professor and Founding Director of the School of Architecture, Planning and Design (SAP+D) at UM6P with OCP. He was previously Director of Ecole Nationale d’Architectur (ENA) in Morocco, and Head of Architectural Engineering Department, University of Sharjah, UAE. He received his Architect-Diploma from ENA/Morocco. As a Fulbright Scholar, he completed his M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Architecture, University of Pennsylvania, USA. As the Prince of Wales' Scholar, he received a Master degree of Architecture, The Prince of Wales’ Institute of Architecture and University of Wales. He taught and conducted research in several prestigious universities. He worked as an international expert for UN-Habitat, UNESCO, ICCROM, MCC, World Bank, and the Aga Khan Award. His areas of expertise are Architecture in Context, Resilient Territorial Innovation/Performance, Sustainable Urban/Territorial Planning, Regeneration/Development of Urban Heritage, and Smart Buildings/Cities.
𝘐𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘪𝘦𝘸 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘋𝘳. 𝘏𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘢𝘯 𝘙𝘢𝘥𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘦, 𝘥𝘪𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘰𝘳 𝘰𝘧 𝘚𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘰𝘭 𝘰𝘧 𝘈𝘳𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦, 𝘗𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 & 𝘋𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘨𝘯 (𝘚𝘈𝘗+𝘋)
Dr. Hassan Radoine presents his thoughts on the concept of a 'smart city'. What surprises him is that people who endeavour to define what a smart city is often link it to fragmented solutions focusing solely on technological innovations. Indeed, technologies can solve a myriad of problems related to mobility, transportation, waste management, digital connectivity, and more, but they must also respond to the needs of citizens.
According to Dr. Hassan Radoine, the idea of the smartness of a city transcends the ways in which one can monitor, observe, and guide how the entire system of the city works. That is why experts and scholars advocate for an African smart city that can monitor its metropolitan fabric to optimize the usage of resources and infrastructures, conserve the environment, and strengthen connectivity among different social groups.
In fact, the smartness of a city is no longer gauged by heavy infrastructure, Dr. Hassan stressed, but rather by light infrastructure via the digital revolution, which makes cities lighter, much more resilient, and even more sustainable.

depuis mon enfance j'ai revé d'être une architechte parceque je pense que c'est le metier où je peux montrer mes habiletés surtout dans le dessin mais tans pis lors de mon obtention de mon baccalaureat j'ai pas eu la note qui va me permet d'integrer cette ecole de mon rêve et j'ai continuer quand méme mes etudes, mintenent j'ai une licence en svt mais je veux refaire le bac libre à l'age de 24 ans et je sais pas si je vais le reussir avec une bonne note ou pas et si cette note ou bien mon age aussi vont me permettre de rejoindre cette ecole, j'espére!!
