Got back into blading recently, could never afford aggressive skates as a kid. Love your videos! Inspiring me in my mid-thirties here. What skates do you reco for someone starting out? In your first vid you landed on the USD Aeon 60s. Do you think your current Razors are better for newbies? Your vid with a rail onto some grass has me excited and potentially feeling brave to try some grinds out.
yeah I think razor SLs would probably be the best to start on, they accommodate a wide range of fits, just make sure if you're around 270mm like me you get the 8/9.5 shell as the bigger one would be too long, but its really all personal preference, everyone's feet are difference and that tends to be the deciding factor for what skates people like the most. And yeah putting my prail in the grass for my first few soul grinds really helped me build some confidence, I was struggled hard those first few months, but man it really pays off if you don't give up!
@@inlineonline Man, you're such a champ. I'm scoping out some black friday deals now - thank you for this info and quick response! I'll report back! :)
Happy Thanksgiving! 🦃
what lava mic are you using?
dji mic 2!
Shadow wizard money gang!!!!
What pads are you using? Ive never skated with pads, but I'm thinking of getting shin pads recently.
@@papamolly_ I use the Fox d30 pro downhill mountain bike pads for my elbows and knees, ennui shin guards and I run through wrist guards all the time and just pick up whatever is cheapest lol The pads have saved me from so many real injuries, I still get bruises and stuff but nothing substantial
@@inlineonline Thank You!
@@inlineonline I also use biking product on my legs. IXS knee-shin guards. bikers and moto have knee and shin protections down tight
yeah I took a couple shinners on basic gform shin pads and knew I needed something a bit more robust lol
Maaaan every time I see you just looking so much better. Loving the progress.
thank you bro!! starting to feel like a real skater lol
you’re inspiring me to lock in with skateboarding again and try inline
hell yeah!! have fun out there
Dude wtf! That Sweatstance was sick! I feel like just yesterday I was watching you learn frontsides 😢🤣 You've gotten so good. How do you like the shadows? Been taking a long break from skating, but this makes me wanna get back on it before nasty MN winter fully hits.
Thank you bro I feel like the last couple weeks have been really good for me and I'm absolutely loving the shadows, some foot pain issues just like everything else but they are super fun to skate! And they slide better than anything else I have. Get back out there bro!! Especially if you have an indoor for the winter
Do you have a yoga or stretching routine that you go through before skating? If not, 30 min of stretching a day will greatly increase your range of motion and flexibility by a lot over a period of few months. You’ve definitely proven that you can be dedicated and diligent at daily practice routines when you want to. It’s amazing how far you’ve progressed with your grinds in just the last 2 months alone.
No I don't I've tried to get into yoga once or twice but I could never commit to it, it's so hard to it feels like I have to commit to skipping a workout and doing yoga instead which is tough for me... But you're absolutely right I should be at least stretching more, I used to stretch fully 3 times a day but since I've started blading I've been a bit lazy with my fitness. It used to be my all I thought about so I think I got a bit burnt out with fitness stuff but I need to starting working it back in, especially dynamic stuff like stretches and box jumps. You can probably tell I go all in on stuff so it can actually be hard for me to put attention towards anything that isn't blading right now, it's a problem haha last year I was obsessed with cycling in the same way I'm obsessed with blading right now. I need to learn to balance things better which is my goal for the winter
Beautiful grinding man! I can only watch from the sidelines now because it's getting too cold and wet here and that slam I took on the low rail with no shin guards kinda messed my knee up. So I'm just gonna watch you for the winter. 😅
No indoor park near you??? And yeah I don't skate without my shin guards, it still hurts through them but no lasting damage
Great skating, great progress. It makes me hyped to go out and skate!
thank you!! have fun out there, raining all day for me today so Ill have to take the day off
@@inlineonline Unfortunately I have a cold and have to wait some more days until I can skate again. More sadly is that the weather is great at the moment. :(
@@luedinski damnn that unfortunate, maybe its a good excuse to just go push around and work on flatground skating!
Used to love skating to Macs. Since he left I havent really been able to enjoy it the same.
I've never used Shadows. I always fear that I may be too rough or hurt myself cus they are shell-less. I totally enjoy the self-cheering cus I do the same thing.
yeah I was a little worried about that at first to but the new shadows are super protective, the toe cap at the front is super hard so it feels just like any other boot. Honestly I was a little bit disappointed to realize how "normal" these shadows felt, I expected a much difference experience. But once you put them on and the fit is adjusted correctly, they feel like any other boot I have, honestly very similar to my factions with the big soul plates and flexibility
Some days it just all comes together! 🤘🤙
im having so much fun lately
@inlineonline It's been really fun to watch. I'm recovering from a kind of nasty injury right now. I'm definitely living vicariously through your progress. Keep it up! 👏👏
Oh man that sucks what happened???
@@inlineonline I was surfing and got hit by a kite boarder. I am mostly over the physical recovery. I have my last PT appointment next week. My brain still isn't right though and I am just scared to fall still. It's been just over 2 months. It's getting better but it's just so slow. Your videos have been helpful with the FOMO though. I still feel like I am getting to session haha.
@@willshred4money sheesh that does not sound fun but glad you're taking your recovery seriously so you can fully enjoy it when you get back out there!! I know it sucks sitting out for so long but youre doing it right. And thank you bro thats kinda the vibe I go for, I don't have people to really skate with so you guys are my skate crew lmao
Nice Edit
ballerinas
Wow it looks super fun...!!!! Thank you. I will try it.
its really such an important learning tool, not sure I would have learned much without my trusty pvc rail lol
I want to start inline skate. How did you make the rail?.
its super easy, just two 2x6s and pvc, I made a tutorial a few months ago th-cam.com/video/bElrrSn5NO4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=aQPesfSsrdxQjCBs
I had the same problem, I had to play around with the skates a bit. Try the first recording!I don't have this problem with the flat shoes and the other flaps! It sometimes helps to remove the shock absorber
I think ive got my fit in a good place now, did a street session 2 days ago with no pain so thats a good sign
maybe see a foot specialist, sounds like you may need a stretch therapy session for your foot, if its plantar fasciitis, u may need stretch therapy, i developed it after wearing hard work boots for 2 years on concrete floors, my recovery was about 6 weeks of daily stretching and basic supplements to help. (note i could be completely off beat, and this observation may be nothing, idk know you lol) just whenver i feel people are swapping out stuff this frequently it usually comes down to oh ya you have plantar fasciitis and need a recovery plan, then all is well.
thats a good idea, I actually had plantar fasciitis like a decade ago in right after high school, I remember it being super painful when I stepped out of bed in the morning. It doesn't really hurt in the same way but I wouldnt be surprised if that was it lol
@@inlineonline may be a RSI, never hurts to just check, catch it early if your lucky and u have it again, I'm currently on a MCL healing journey lol
Oh man that sucks hopefully you heal up fast, ive got a few injuries I've been scared of getting check out but I need to just do it
@@inlineonline always worth it dude. Better safe than sorry
You ain’t no top side your on rollerblades your definitely a bottom side type of guy
good one you sound super smart lol totally not sub 80 IQ
@ I re-read my message, sorry I forgot to put power before the bottom part.
@@mikefarrar3403 you are not making sense lol
The skates look fresh as hell! I kinda want some.
black friday sales coming up!!
Rollerwarehouse always sorts me out well
@@kevincollins8620 yup they are my go to shop
i was concidering getting these, at some point, cause conceptually i love the idea
I feel like every blader should try these at least once, they feel really cool
@@inlineonline price tag for some isn't as nice :p
Great sesh, especially considering it’s your first time in a new pair of skates! Cool that you just put them on and went through your trick lineup! I agree that it takes some time to dial the setup in, and expect to adjust them a bit more over time as they wear in. I love my OG Xsjados, and the freestyle Xsjado frames. You should try those frames. I’ve torn through a bunch of them but as I’m the classic back-to-blading after a years long hiatus I’m still more comfortable with anti or flat for the time being. Older, heavier and stiff as board.. 😂
Yeah I think I'm at a point where they feel really good right now, I've made a lot of adjustments since this video and broken a few parts but I've enjoyed the shadows alot regardless And I actually have those kizer x freestyle frames! I haven't used them since I first started blading so maybe it's time to give them a shot on the shadows, it's only right lol I'm just scared of wheelbite, when I tried those frames I quickly realized I have basically no wheel bite protection lmao and the groove is terrifying
That’s somehow disappointing. 😆. Not your Video, but the fact they more or less feel like any other aggressive skates. 🤪
Yeah Im not what I was expecting but once I started skating it was just like anything else, I will say that I've dialed in my fit alot since this video and it's super comfortable now. I had a few things setup wrong on day 1
When heavy ppl fall….😂😊
200lbs straight to the pavement never feels good lol
@@inlineonlineyep, me around 240 atm.
fresh
Those xsjados look fking sick. I got the Dustin Latimer edition white on white.
those are sick actually bought the cuff and foot pad for those so I can turn my current shadows into a shadow where I can use my own shoes, it was cheap enough I figured I might as well order the parts and try it out
Glad to see you enjoy skating with others. Entirely different experience eh? Hoped u learned a thing or two
Totally different experience, a bit harder to focus on my tricks because I was having so much fun watching them skate lol and I soaked up as many tips as I could, all the advice they gave me helped so much
@inlineonline can't wait to see u shread them xsjados been loving mine about to hit the park now
@@xlordxsithxroyalmiller3185 helll yeah bro have fun out there!! the first shadow video drops tomorrow
sick video dude, this is content progression at its finest!
It was so awesome to watch, not my best session but my confidence has shot up since. Can't wait for you guys to see the USD Shadow videos
Always more fun to skate with friends and push each other while having a good time
Yeah it was really awesome to watch them skate, kinda helped me realize what's possible
Good form, good slide. Full points from me in the technical aspect.
thank you!! it felt really good
You like the Kizer Fluid IV huh? Maybe I need to try anti rocker again.
I'm always in between the fluid 4 and create originals, both are really good but have a little bit different pros and cons
clean as that one
Also to note they make different types of wheels for different surfaces. Ive always used bones swiss ceramic bearings aswell
Also a friendly reminder to rotate ur tires for new feel and best wear
I have to always remind myself to check my wheels. I've been finally getting better with it.
6:15 that was sick asf. Tap tap. Fully committed. I liked the heal comment. Ur learning balance as a whole and i see u testing increased speed and learning to adjust accordingly. And u look more fluid and natural
yeah that one felt pretty good, Im don't like landing 1 foot at a time though so its a bit bittersweet haha gotta jump out next time and land solid
00:15 u do u. I was taught "skate everything" once u learn on ur 6 in 6 foot round rail. Try it on w.e u want
its 10 feet and 14 inches off the ground lol
Impressive right foot abilities on ur top p and top mizu. Tip for mizu. Rather ur left foot face away from the right. Angle it the opposite in the direction of it right foot. Left foot should be in the Royal position and right is topside. The hard part is getting the proper squat and ankle bend. Splendid first attempts. I ordered xsjados Thursday since I couldn't find jug liners. Just got them today. Can't wait to shread them on my next day off. No shame in rocking the cheater skates. Enjoy the flex
if my left foot is in the royale position on mizu thats not even a mizu lol thats a mistrial or topside mistrial
Eyyy nice work
When I actually used to skate, I’d do topside p-stars by actually laying my entire shin (the back leg) over the topside foot to get the frame all the way down and have a super low crouched stance. You can try giving it a go.
I'll try to think about cross my shins, I feel like I can't get low and lock in at the same time right now, it's frustrating lol
Well said
Let's go! Those are committed tricks! Way to fight through it and get a few makes. 💪💪
It's was definitely a mental battle for me, I should probably work on mizus more first 🤣
I caught that FS backslide at the end. Now before the year ends since you're keeping it grind heavy... you gotta snatch the down ledges year one, then next year a rail.
Yeah I gotta just send it, I'm getting alottttt more comfortable lately so I gotta take advantage and actually start trying to skate different stuff, I get so focused on trying to make my grinds better, I don't even remember to do anything else lol
@inlineonline working through different terrain will make the grinds better. Obviously it's great to practice the standards on easy to use stuff... but if your working on progress you're going to want to hit something with an angle to it. Especially for getting more comfy on royales and topsides.
@@kevincollins8620 yeah I noticed that one time I did a royale on a very small down ledge actually really so good, I bet royales will feel real nice to ride out on a real hubba
