Great quality video! Thanks for posting!
Fantastic! Thank you so much for posting!!
This is in great condition! Thanks so much for posting this.
@@garychaffee5242 I did my best with videos pulled from separate sources as you can tell with audio/video levels not being the same, but I think its about as complete as its gonna get. ~Ken
Loved every moment with the opportunity to perform in the company of phenomenal corps and members. Here's to the great old days!
Very Nice!! I wish we had The Crossmens opener. One of my favorite pieces ever.
@@ronkline7019 I have the Denver Finals video but this is what the station put together after Eastern Finals(minus the clip of 27th I added cause the station goofed big time) ~Ken
Was in the crowd that night. Changed my life. Ended up marching PR 92-95. SUTA!!!!!!
Thank you for uploading this
Wow! Amazing! I remember double flags as such a pain. The sheer size and quality of this was incredible.
Thank you for posting this Drum Corps treasure.
The first major regional show I ever attended. Crowd was delirious when 27th won. Looking back now after all these years, BD probably had a more sophisticated package and more talent. For the Lancers, this was their zenith and a moment to remember.
@@dfsimon Im still on the hill that 27th should have won in Birmingham but the three letter organization didnt want an Eastern corps as champion. ~Ken
Amazing show and video! 27!
Wow, Clearest version I have seen. Nice!
来日された時にペガサスのシャツを頂いた事を今でも覚えています。
Thanks for cleaning this up. It looks spectacular. The corps performance is also spectacular.
This is in my top 5 all time shows ❤
Please upload the Lancers from 1979.
27th Lancers '79 is in the list of updates this week 😊
I'll never know how they did it, but this group always seemed to pull such a wonderfully symphonic sound from those god awful G bugles. That is why they have always been by favorite corps.
What are you talking about? The G instruments play just fine.
@@staritone3883 I've heard differently. By the way, somehow I aquired a single valve tenor bugle from way back in the day. I turned into a lamp, and it sits in my den to this day. It's a great conversation piece.
@@LyleFrancisDelpSomething like your tenor bugle is a different beast than the instruments here; that would've been something designed as a bugle. (Well, field trumpet. Most of what we call bugles in America are field trumpets, including early corps "bugles.") Other than the sopranos, two piston valve G instruments are basically modified versions of regular marching instruments with one less valve. Sopranos have an abnormally large bell and a cornet-like large bell throat, so I can see someone used to regular trumpets being put off by how they play. They are, however, just G trumpets with a large bell throat.
“God awful”? Nope.
Saw this show live in Houston and loved it.
False advertising! This is clearly the short lived Phanton Regiment!
Hey Austin! Thanks for the videos. You're the best, bro!
Sell aluminum? BITD I remember corps selling spaghetti but aluminum?
@@cherokeefats He's probably talking about aluminum can drives, a lot of corps did those.
Loved performing in Whitewater as a member of the Boston Crusaders 78 and 79 a great show and one of our favorites 100000 dollar budget today would be over a 1 million
Our Dearest Most AWESOME HUMAN BEING RIGHT THERE. EVERY KID TREATED WITH SUCH RESPECT AND DIGNITY AS THEY WERE HIS OWN. SOURCE BLESS AND KEEP YOU SIR!
Ahhhhhh Whitewater.......UW Whitewater
This was another really promising corps that was assassinated by the lure of DCI. They were around for only two seasons, and thankfully I got to see them both years, including this show at McGiil University Stadium in Montreal.
Thanks, I've been wishing and hoping for a version this good!
@@bw6480 I try to put out the best quality videos I can, or at least make an attempt to make them look as good as I can, but it's difficult with older media that's already in very poor condition. This one however is about as good as you can find I think.
Had there ever been a show with that much swagger and audacity? I've seen 74, but this seems to be a whole level up. That horn fanfare is one of the greatest things in drum corps history. And Todd Weich, getting applause all by himself.
I swear I saw the spectators throwing babies when Madison finished.
The sound from those “all-star” corps must have been BIG!!
I like the way this show will be playing a perfectly good tune, and then, out of nowhere, they chop it up and go all dystopian. Fantastic!
Thank you so much for uploading this recording!
@@santoxtremefluffy You're welcome! I'll post 89 Troopers soonTM
One of THE best shows ever by any corps, any era. The thrill & power of that horn line in company front takes my breath away. Thanks Ken.
My father was apart of this group. Thank you for uploading this!!
You're welcome! I'm glad this video still exists as many of these tapes were shot by corps directors to use as training tools and then re-recorded over. I'm doing my best to clean up and post as many as I can for all to enjoy. -Ken Collum
I was there, wide -eyed and slack jawed. Man, the power...
27:05 From the road conditions, the telecast was from WPXI 11 Pittsburgh.
Fun watch
Betty White in 1969.
The Madison SCouts at the end really played their hearts out.
What year is the photo from? I don't remember women in the Brigs' guard that year.
I got a feeling this gonna be found (or not)
Can't believe this is 50 yrs. Old!! This was the first year I experienced Madison. Was always my favorite corps ever since.
I was at this show. 27th was great.
Looks great
This video communicates the energy and power of Madison that year. I saw them many times that season.
If we could have replaced this show with our DCI FINALS show we would have won
But Madison DID win Midwest and almost won Finals?
wow great job fixing this up man , thanks what a great year
I plan to enhance it further but its a little farther down the list
wish l could find a whole show video of the 1979 Boston Crusaders, my age out year. l am the last bari on the far right end in Conquest.
So cool to see this...was so long ago since I was here!
Back when D&Bs actually marched. No dancing or choreography.
I never heard, yet alone heard of this corps before, and now I'm in love. They are wonderful!
I must admit that even though I was intimately involved in Drum corps in '82, I didn't get to watch every drum corps that was competing against us very often or at all. After watching this video I can honestly say that the Memphis Blues had a very competitive and complete program in 82'. There are no weaknesses. They had a complete package of horns, drums, drill, execution and G.E. WOW! I applaud you for what you put on the field that summer!
