    Hi Dr Bart :) I'm aspiring to become a PM & I am currently a Customer Success Manager at a startup, but unfortunately our Product team is entirely based overseas in EU (I'm located in the US with our Sales & Success teams). I feel like it will be difficult for me to pivot internally, but I'm still looking for ways to help the Product team with projects so I can put that experience on my resume. Do you have any advice about this? Thanks sir!

    • @DrBartPM
      @DrBartPM ปีที่แล้ว

      I think you need to either: - try relocating closer to the product team - talk to your manager to see how could you be pushed to a Product career track OR - Move on to a company where a career track to Product would be more feasible.

    Product School isn't worth it. End of story. They will teach you a lot, but it doesn't guarantee you a job and you can find similar information for a lot cheaper on Udemy & Udacity. A lot of the people enrolled in the course are already product managers, which doesn't make sense for them to take. You're also competing with hundreds of people enrolled in the course for an entry level product management job, which shouldn't be labeled as an entry level job because they want you to be in a tech background with 3-5+ years or relevant product experience. It's close to impossible getting an APM role & internships are only provided to MBA students. What's even worse, are people in the slack group chats trying to sell you a variety of bs such as resume review services, networking events & more courses. Their career fairs weren't a great resource either, which is probably the biggest let down. I can go on and on as to why this course was a major disappointment.
