Beach Display
The sand was made by mixing craft sand with choice of paint and then simply applying it to the surface (styrofoam) it dried with the sand in place. The water was created using toilet paper and glue & then painted. Paint colors included metallic shades. Many of the resin figures were purchased from "Factorydirect craft" #diorama #beachvibes #miniature

Figurines are mainly #Lemax porcelain vintage ones. I create scenes of places I visited in the year. This village represents the tri-state area from Poconos of PA, Jim Thorpe of PA, Belmar, NJ, NYC, & Brooklyn, NY.

Thank you! The green house is unbranded. I bought it in Rite Aid in 1996. I have kept it in good condition. 😊 They had these beautiful porcelain houses for only a few years back then and then never made them again.

Great job! I really liked the layout of your village and the added touches, especially the pedestrian crossings. Isnt it a wonderful feeling when your village finally comes to life! Unfortunately this year we are unable to set up our display, it will be the first time without a village in over 30 years. But definitely next year. Once again great job on the village it looks awesome!
@frendoville6236 Yes when it finally comes to life its a great feeling! I created my own streets this year bec the ones they sell are not wide enough to fit the 2-way traffic. So I bought black foam sheets 12" x 18 " cut them to size, and got 1/16" yellow masking tape & made the double yellow lines & for the crosswalks i cut up mailing labels, all secured with double sided tape. I must of changed the layout 1 dozen times at the time of setting it up, as I have to work row by row, & had to figure out how to get it all in. 😂 Planning never works for me, I have to design as I move along, only overall planning works. You guys did not set up your village this year but Frendoville still lives on with me. I watched your video again & I am still in awe as in last year. Well another year will be here quick & by then you will be overwhelmed with ideas I am sure. Nevertheless your spectacular village still lives on & looking forward to what you guys build next year ! ❤

Hi! I ordered the palm trees from Amazon, "16 Pieces Plastic Green Palm Tree Coconuts Cupcake Topper Miniature Palm Tree Figurines". The miniature drinks (what looks like a pitcher of Sangria 😁) & the birds came from Hobby Lobby. The mini sandcastle came from factorydirectcraft. I hope they fix that ocean grove pier for this year. So what it looks like a cross, hopefully all of that is behind them & hopefully have been working on it. I added the children with ice cream cones as it reminds me of Days. And the Fish n Chips actually reminds me of Kleins in Belmar, NJ. 😁

@@les1217 Hi, no I have not tried the toilet paper wave method yet. Some time ago I spotted on you tube a person using that method. I believe he was from Sweden. After seeing your display, I will definitely try it. At this time, I am in the process of getting my house ready to sell. We are planning to do a complete flip and move from Bridgewater NJ to a place called Waterbridge in myrtle beach South Carolina. If all goes well, we will build a house on property that we own there. The price to build is very high right now so I am not sure I can afford to build a house large enough to accommodate the display that I envision. My plan is to build a NJ Christmas display using dept 56 and snow and a bridge leading to a south carolina display using Woodland Scenics buildings with palm trees and a beach. Thank you very much for your link to purchasing palm trees. I have always wanted to build a beach scene and have collected many nice figures for that purpose. I have a bucket of NJ sand ready to use if I am lucky enough to build it. Sure will miss the NJ shore though. Well thanks again for your kind comments and your help in my envision for the beach. Until then, I will enjoy planning it in my mind. Happy display building, I will look forward to following your you tube channel. Take care.
