Follow along with me and my projects. Some tips and tricks. I try to demonstrate that most tasks can be done simply without every fancy tool in the book. My interests are a bit scattered, you will see a old tractor to a motorcycle or even a chainsaw. Thanks!

How to display ski-doo fault codes on the dash
The bearing ain't supposed to go all the way down but between 11mm and 11.5mm ,at least that's what is written in my repair manual, for the right place for the hub to fit in the bearing
Great video thanks for posting very detailed. Also, thanks for giving examples for guys that don’t have all the fancy tools great job
My wheel is still slack after a new brearing any ideas what that could be
Sometimes the bearing will turn in the knuckle and wear it causing a loose fit and the whole bearing can be moving. Was it easy to go in?
When winter comes do you just start up and go or is there a procedure?
Just start up and do your normal pre ride type of things.
Great instructions. Appreciate the help.
Glad it helped
Thanks for this vid! From Kotzebue, Alaska 😝
Thanks for watching!
Any idea on what the ideal oil level to store it at is? Full better than low i assume?
I generally store full but I wouldn’t think it would make much of a difference
U didn’t grease the inner o-ring seal on housing side ….😳
Note to self, buy a boat for water and mud crossing, don’t use atv for water/mud crossing 🤣
Big socket works better than a ball hitch.
"Turn around....you're in too deep" haha love it😂
Glad you enjoyed!
Thank you buddy
Thanks for watching!
Thanks. The position of the left axle seal is metal side from the outside
Thanks for watching, yes if you are using a honda seal it’s metal ring out, most aftermarket kits do not have the metal ring type of seal.
Hey, you work pretty good with one hand
Thanks! I bought a tripod now lol.
How many Quarts??
Just under 4 I believe.
Straight to the point, very easy to follow. Thank you very much for sharing! You saved me a few hundred $$ going to a mechanic
Glad it helped, thanks for watching!
U have the same codes as me. What should i do first. I crashed my doo on a rock and those codes came right after it on the dash... Probably some sensor has detached etc...
The code is for the exhaust temp sensor module, perhaps wires damaged on impact?
Anyone ever had a P0629 before?
I haven’t ran into that one, looks to be a fuel pump related code but I wasn’t able get details on that code.
I have the same exact fault code in my backcountry 800.. what was it ? What fixed it?
P1427 is for the exhaust temp module, it is what the two exhaust temp sensors run to. Make sure it’s plugged in and connections are good. If all is good the module will have to be replaced, unfortunately they do fail occasionally. Thanks for watching!
Exactly what I needed sir thank you!
Glad it helped!
How do u get the temperature gage on there I’d really like to know
The engine temp? Generally most “X” models with the bigger lcd gauge had it. Some don’t, if I remember right some of the 2011-13ish sleds didn’t have it. They used to sell a plug in module as a accessory that connects under the gauge and added features to the cluster. I’m not sure if it is still available or not.
@@caudronperformance ahh Myns a 09 mxzx and was wondering if u can use the dash controller to select it
Ya, that would require a additional modular accessory. Also this method of pulling faults on the dash will not work on a p-tec I believe.
@@caudronperformance that is what I have? It’s a 600 etec
Oh, sorry nope, I had a 800r in my head for some reason. This stuff should all work on e-tec’s. was still a module to add the temp gauge though
Pretty sweet to have that. Never been a fan of pulling plugs
Thanks for watching!
Idk if you can help me but I got a Honda rancher 350 2wd an one of the front tires locks up an won’t move would that be the brakes ?
Could be brakes stuck or seized on or maybe the wheel bearings.
Been looking for one of these for a while
Great little bikes!
Thanks! Finally doing mine
Thanks for watching
It was a good informational video. You could have greased the o ring at the end of the inner axle tube, and a quick gear lube change for the rear end seemed easy to do while you are right there
Thanks for watching
What year is it we have the same one sitting in a barn but can’t find a Manuel or parts for it anywhere
I don’t know exact year, I believe early 70’s. It is a 700g I think. I e-mailed Thomas when I was working on this project and they sent me a parts diagram and a operator manual for a similar model. Most parts I was able to source easily just by size but fortunately I didn’t need anything major for parts, mostly just seals and hoses etc.
Is it the same for both right and left sides?
Not the same but similar, the right side you must remove the brake drum cover, drum and rear brake panel, it has 2 bearings pressed into it that will have to removed and replaced.
What tool did you use to loosen that oil fill cap?
Motion pro has a flat y wrench I use, it is a bit thin for this but if you are careful it works well. www.motionpro.com/product/08-0087
Thanks for this video! Helped A lot!
Glad it helped!
Such a cool bike! I'm rebuilding one right now and I' very excited, thanks for the content
Thanks, great bikes, I still have it and rode it yesterday. Have fun with your project

Thanks for the video

Are you still on here do you reply ???
Hi, yep I’m still around
Use the old race to pound new one flush. Cut a slot in it with a zip disc and you can pound it in all the way and pull it right out after. In case you aint got the big socket you need
What size socket
Axel nut? I believe 22 or 24mm depending on the model.
Can’t hear you!!
I have the same dash on my 2023 600 EFI Renegade Sport. I only have two tanks of fuel through it since buying it new and I've noticed that the gas gauge is not reading consistently anymore. When I fill the tank it still reads half a tank and then after a while it slowly comes back to full but then goes back to half a tank or less. Do you have any ideas what might be causing this? Thanks.
Man that's awesome! Will it work for 2012 xrs 800???
Yes I believe so, If it is a e-tec with the large Center display it will work the same way yep.
Lol kitty help. Good to have a pro around the shop.
Lol, yep they are super helpful!
If check engine light came on and then went away at next start up will this process get let you see what that code was?
Unfortunately this only displays active faults so the check engine light has to be on when you do this procedure. This will not display stored codes, to obtain stored or saved codes the machine would have to be plugged and scanned with the oem diagnostic software. Thanks for watching!
@@caudronperformance appreciate that!
it seems this is just what I need. I hope. she glides along fine on the groomed trails once she gets going but taking off quick and when I hit the deep stuff she feels like shes not grabbing like she should. the clutch appears cleaner than my other sleds that are not having this problem. I guess I'll head down to the garage and check her tension. Regardless. nice video. I hope it's the answer to my prayers!
Hope it helps, thanks for watching!
@@caudronperformance I found some broken rollers in there. I believe that's keeping my secondary from closing all the way. (I couldn't get enough travel to get the belt to sit at the top of secondary pully) I pulled jackshaft now waiting on a straight line tool and new rollers. fun stuff! glad I had dudes like you dropping knowledge on TH-cam. thanks again.
Glad you found the issue, sadly the rollers cracking and holding the secondary open is somewhat common. I have the straight line secondary tool and it works great!
How do you check top speed?
I can’t remember exactly but if you have the gauge with the larger lcd like this one it will just be with scrolling through with the m or s button. Thanks for watching!
I want to order these for my sled but I can't find where to get them???
Any ski doo dealer should be able to order them for you.
Excellent. Thanks.
Glad you liked it!
