Pompca skin I have comes in shorter length; just like you cut yours shorter than the ski is. Because of my background in cross country skiing I always like shorter skins. Classic skiing has not a lot of grip compared to skimo at all. Also saves energy on the flat sections when you do it well. Edit: the rules state that aproximately 50 of the ski in length should have a climbing skin on it. Width doesn't matter, so if you wanted a high glide skin, you could cut the last 15cm in a taper so it glides better. Less skin contact equals more glide.

Maybe a brake that only avtivates when you step into the back piece? And it does store away in the same manner. My bindings have a button on the side that activates the binding. Also very simple. Edit: a toe brake could solve all the problems. If pins are engaged, brake will stow away. I think grizzly bindings has something like that?

is there a binding out jet with the "automatic brake system"? I cannot find any information online about it. I love my atk raider 12 2.0 binding exactly because of this feature and am very excited that it might make an improved comeback
