    13000ths an 20000ths is fine buddy , you have end float on the crankshaft , i have never measured the crank position when rebuilding saws , never had one come back yet , an i have done 20 to 30 full rebuilds with new cases and cylinders , just remember it is not a space ship , it is not taking you to the moon ,

    Wow, Great Build!! Thanks for posting this - I bought the same kit and your video is the most comprehensive build of this model on the internet. I had the same problems you did too; made me laugh when I saw your reactions after I had the same issue. The same head scratching, which bolt to use, why did they do this, no way this is the right way to do this, etc. Thanks again for posting!

      Thank you Urban Lumberjack! I really enjoyed assembling this saw. The parts quality is very good with only a few easily resolved issues. The latest issue after some runtime, I noticed the shroud that covers the exhaust outlet is placed a little too high and was causing the break handle to burn. A slight modification to this shroud and muffler fixed the issue, easy fix.

    heat cycles worst thing ever. I don't know who invented it but it doesn't do a damn thing. just run it a tad fat, not wide open throttle for the first 2 tanks (with no load). after that tune her where she runs just slightly against the limited coil and send it.

    • @loneoaktreeservice5315
      @loneoaktreeservice5315 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      "Heat Cycling" is an old school method of engine break-in, I'm sure anyone could google it and develop their own opinion over the matter.

      @em4703 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@NathanVdV Why would something called "heat cycle" involve idling a full tank of gas? Heat cycle means heat and cold cycle. Start the engine, run it a few minutes until it warms up (cutting whatever). Shut it down. Wait for cool off. Repeat it a few more times. Done. This is how 2 stroke engines are broken in on 2 stroke bikes since forever.

  • @peanutman6593

    When you were installing your fly wheel nut, it looks like the fly wheel was spinning so that would mean that the nut was not tied enough because the fly wheel was not kept stationary. Did I miss something?

    • @loneoaktreeservice5315
      @loneoaktreeservice5315 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, it was not spinning. I use a pneumatic impact driver for torqueing the nut down. The impact driver does not crate enough torque in this instance to overcome the resistance of engine compression. What looks like spin is actually a very short rotation, back and forth. In my experience this is the most gentle way to use an impact.
