Gotta love vandals...spray painting words only they understand...or do they?
Some of the still existing intact towers with horn antennas that are still in good condition should be designated as historical entities since they played a crucial role during the Cold War era. These existing towers could be restored to their original glory except need not be operational, but could be open to the public to visit. These towers with intact horn antennas are rather spooky looking, but are still interesting to see when you encounter them while driving by them. There is one huge concrete tower with intact horns in downtown Los Angeles. Until discovering the history of these antennas, I thought they were still operational today, but it makes sense that newer technology has made these systems obsolete.
theyre incredible feats of cell tower engineering, and i just think they look awesome. sucks seeing them get the cornucopia horn reflectors taken out, they should be perserved imo.
One day ago?? WTF! It's July?!
Try harder
Oh hell yeah. How is that place not completely destroyed and covered in graffiti?
Your last words. Perfect for the scene cut.

TH-cam forces them on for small creators but doesn't give them any of the money 🤡
Hell yes! Stoked for pt 2.
I love the outtro. I've heard that woman yell at me a few times. Stoked you hit these. And the other one. It's crazy that the 2nd one you were basically walking where the roof was the whole time. The ties are probably still there 3ft under the groundfall.
Thanks! It totally is staged, but cool nonetheless
Thank you👍
The KS 15676 pyramid horn antennas and the KS????? Conical diagonal, reflect horn antennas. it sad most of these antennas are not used today maybe a few but most of them.🙁
love these old long lines towers. I've climbed almost every one within 100 miles of me but I've never seen one of those parabolic antennas, any idea what those were for?
They were antennas for beamed telephone calls
Those views are so good. Kinda of makes me miss the warm weather.
Well it's back already -_-
@@NEPATrains Shit's ridiculous.
Got to do some work in several of these that AT&T sold to MCI back in the 80's. The wet lead acid battery banks were huge in capacity in 50x 80 foot rooms full of Cells.\ One thing I did not know is that when they were in operation, the DOD and military sampled the signals sent and reflected returns for anomalies similar to huge RADAR arrays. When decommissioned they removed and destroyed the arrays used for this, IE the multiple smaller waveguides and empty 19" racks-
The MCI network is a funny story... So many of their towers around too. Those are the real hidden ones, they're unassuming enough to not catch people's eyes. IMO they have a distinctive look if you pay close enough attention
Pretty scary ... I've walked quite a few bridges, but only a few in this poor condition ... I Homer City Pa I walked a small 3 section bridge that had been flooded. The 3rd span was in the creek so I had to walk on ties only connected to hanging rails.
I think your whole video is real piss poor you guys going to this big mine and use the shittiest flashlight to light it up amateur hour get off your wallet and buy some lights with lumens to them. Everyone should have a headlamp on as well as holding a i’m definitely not recommending your channel
Watching from Australia opal miner here , may I suggest if you intend to do abandoned coal mines get a multi gas meter especially if they are in wet condition just a thought. And when you do wear it on your shin low down that's where the bad air starts , you only walk into concentrated bad air once stay safe. By the way not sure which O2 meter you have or how its calibrated but start to think about it at 19.8 still safe but below 19.5 danger you should not be there if you wish to explore another day. AS I mentioned multi meter , Methane and sulphites may be released from a variety of sources in a mine, including rotting timbers in stagnant water which you may disturb by walking through ,strata in the roof or floor, as well as the coal seam itself. @26:30 the gobbing is so they do not have to waste the manpower to remove the excess country rock , its not to stop the wind or ventilations as ventilation is a miners best friend , I can work in one of my mines and tell by the breeze and the pressure differentiation what the weather is like up top, mines are just man made caves , but I digress have been told I do so. @26:4 that is an electrical insulator (ceramic ) for power line feed @27:18 that could possible have been an air door usually closed when they where blasting. Final tip next time take sidewalk chalk with you and mark your direction of travel clearly on the walls ,its what I do in abandoned mines and like a maze use the right hand rule in exploration then if you get lost back track to the left at each turn, you will come out where you started. @29:21 my guess explosives magazine . Judging by the age of the mine nitro phos or maybe Ammonium Nitrate. Whatever it had some heavy gauge tracks in there for the ore carts guessing on the impressions left in the floor. Sorry did turn a comment into a block post thanks for taking me along on the adventure, interesting indeed.
Wow thank you for the detailed write-up, that is some useful information. The meter I was using is indeed a 4gas, O2, CO, Methane and H2S. The alarm point for O2 is set at 19.5. You can trigger it just by breathing on it. The air quality remained 20.9 (ambient here) all throughout, except for one single itty bitty 20 foot section in the entrance (which is odd because that's where you could actually feel the breeze). Air is weird like that!
I subbed cause of your profanity. Glad you say what you wanna say and not censor yourself. Also cool vid. When I was a kid in eastern KY we would crawl back in the old coal banks on the ridges. Good times.
Thank you!
I have a hero 9 and that thing is horrible in low light also lost so much great footage on it just vanished. I use a pixel 6a now and am much happier.
So this particular video actually was shot with my phone. But you're right my hero 7 isn't spectacular either. I'm trying to combat this with ample lighting, with some good results. Hopefully my next mine video will be able to show the progress.
Drainage tunnels are sketchy.
Little bit of a clickbaity title this one... Watch the 50ft ladder or the cistern those are my best public piping videos
@@NEPATrains nice. I've done a few drainage tunnels. Scare me more than the mines, lol.
Yo this mine looks sketchy.
Yeah man, pretty bad at spots! Wonder what you'd think of it
@@NEPATrains true true. Good video though. Up voted.
Soooo stoked you did this one. She's a beast for sure!
Absolute beast of a mine... Crazy I probably didn't even see half of what was accessible
@@NEPATrains Next time. 😏
That rock tunnel with the working chambers over head is so damn cool.Shes a beauty of mine.
Thank you! It was truly unique, I've never seen anything like it underground
Ok,enough of the profanity, I worked construction for years, and it’s so immature, I am tired of it, I would have subscribed, but when all the profanity slid out, nope, nada

I always go by this bridge on that side road whenever I go to Knoebels.
what's the weirdest/unexplainable shit you've seen in a cave/mine
Ran into another party lol
your videos are pretty cool. Have you ever thought about train hopping? It takes a lot of research and knowledge, but you seem like you would be good at it. If you like adventure and thrilling experiences, train hopping is something to consider.
Yes I have thought about it, I have a "plan" per se (short line) but need to find a time where I can stomach the legal risk
yeah, short lines are pretty difficult. It would totally be worth it though!@@NEPATrains
thats interesting, what a cool video. Ive climbed a couple of the bigger ones, the red and white lattice-style towers with old microwave transmitters at the top, I've filmed the climbs too. Some of the bigger ones have been repurposed these days.
Indeed that is true, shame this one couldnt have been even repurposed. I'll have to check your channel!
☺️ *promosm*
Hell yeah. That was pretty rad!
Those MW horns freak me out for some reason.
They look eerie as hell in the fog, I love them though
did it again,another terrific video
4:05 BENSEF
You guys have balls. I know I could not do this!
Hell yeah! The footage wasn't terrible. Just a little strokey. Stoked you made it to those. What are you thinking for the next camera?
Thanks! Long story; I determined the issue with my go pro which apparently is a common one (camera doesn't fully turn off so you have to pull batteries) and have decided to just live with it. I ordered several new batteries, too.
The active track that you were looking at is the former Delaware and Hudson Penn division. The Delaware Lackawanna railroad has three surviving Delaware and Hudson alco RS-3 loxomotives. I believe the railroad bridge that you were walking on was for mining carts or something like that, and the covered bridge I believe was for a conveyor belt.
That place is literally caving in on itself. When it decides to go there will be no warning. You'll judt instantly be turned into a paste.
Yum!
I thought go pros were good lol, this quality isn’t to great. What would you recommend to get if not a go pro? Thanks in advance.
This is footage from my phone because my GoPro died. I don't have an alternative recommendation yet
GoPro not great for low light.
You really cant beat the gopro hypersmooth stabilization but for underground especially in bigger voids they suck unless your throwing 10K lumen in front of it.Then you over expose your buddys footage lolol :)
Just found your channel, enjoying the chill vibe and demeanor. Subbed
Thank you!
Yessss!
The trai is only two feet behow the bridge so if you fall you can just walk on the train and climb down the end-ladder!
As a local living in Falls Township. Unfortunately, I looked up on an archives website to find that the Ransom, PA transmitter which is the one in the video, has been demolished on December 17th of 2021. However, I still wondering if the road to the site is still a public access road, because I just want to go to a spot where you can get a view of Scranton from the mountain.
Yes should be
Yes march of 2020 it was demolished have a pic of the tower on its side the road is still there
Foolish thing to do
why
I will be here on October 7th while touring Tioga County in Pennsylvania! Can't wait!
It's great! For extra fun try running it
