In the end, I guess Jiang Cheng and Lan Xichen are really made for each other. Both of them are people who insist on upholding the status quo and the perceived good name of their Sects above everything, even above the wellbeing of others and their own family. By the end, they have fought SO hard to maintain their privileges and honor, have brought ruin to countless lives, but still did not get personal happiness because honor and social status is hollow. I can totally understand how a lot of people would relate to this, spending their whole lives to be accepted in society and not daring to go against the tide, to keep a good name while staying silent or even taking part while people are wronged as long as they are safe, and then at the end not getting a happy ending anyway. I hope Xicheng would finally live happily while clinging to the status quo and social status they so love.
