you moved to fast for a step-by-step tutorial - it's like you're teaching yourself without thinking of a beginner.. I guess this is for someone is already familiar with excel and financial statement preparation

Hi ! I am using this example on google sheets. The problem I have is that sales logs are contained in a different spreadsheet so I need to use IMPORTRANGE to bring it here, so I can't really paint columns using the mouse when filtering. I tried replicating the example with the FILTER + IMPORTRANGE sintaxis but it does not give proper results. Actually it doesn't even populate all columns but just the first. Can you please help me? Thank you this was driving me nuts. You can also use this with a multi-status list. Just use a formula like this in each status. This one just shows a "Done" status. =CONCATENATE("Done"," - ",TEXT(NOW(),"MM/DD/YY h:mm:ss AM/PM"))

What about a tiered monthly commission based off annual sales? Example at the end of September you ended with $230,000 in sales. For your commission for the month of October you sold another $50,000, you receive 5% on sales up to $250,000 and 6% on everything over $250,000. Can you automate October to know that you receive 5% on the amount that gets you to $250,000 and then 6% on everything over? Maybe that’s confusing?

What formula would I use if I need a signature automatically time stamped once the signature is entered? Signature is in F25 and time stamp is needed in K27.

You managed to quickly and clearly explain in under half an hour so many things I have been struggling with as an artist who is trying to run my own business. I have had so many conversations with accountants over the years, but they were so deep in their world that they even what they considered basic terminology made no sense to me (and I'm no math dummy, I actually loved doing psych stats, geometry, and calculus in college). But for some reason, the way math intersected with tracking business money never made sense to me. Today, I finally actually **understand** a P&L sheet but I also understand so many other concepts in business accounting and know so many more useful features in Excel. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I have been so frustrated for years. I could cry with relief. Definitely going to head here first for any Excel questions I have and hopefully, you have more accounting content for me to check out. You have my gratitude.
