MIsopods, and MORE, with Me.

เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 4 ธ.ค. 2020
Hi, I'm Steve O. I live in Michigan. This channel started as a way for me to express myself and as I say, externalize. That love for nature, health, and awareness has led me to get into isopods. I have, at the moment Wolverine Isopods (A Gestroi), some wild caught Spinicorns (P Spinicornis), and others.
I will vlog, talk about things like being a Father, nature, and mental health.
I hope you find something you enjoy.

Just saw this, Steve. I am so sooo sorry. I own three BP's and one corn snake currently. Before that, I owned one corn snake for almost 20 years. When he passed, I blamed myself. I hated myself because I loved him sooo much, and I honestly don't and didn't know what happened to him. I thought there was something I could've done different, but I figured out later, it may have just been his time. I wrote him a letter and I stuck it on what I was going to bury him in so he knew how much he meant to me forever. It hurt for the longest time (which is ironic because I switched to reptiles instead of fuzzy babies, thinking it may not hurt as bad when I lost them. Oh boy was I wrong.). I just want you to know that whatever caused their deaths, I am almost positive it isn't your fault and even if it was, don't ever hate yourself because I'm sure we've all had this feeling (if you didn't already know that), and I won't lie, it is going to hurt like heck, but I promise you, this too shall pass.. I may be wrong, but it also seems like not only are you deeply hurt about your snake babies, but you also may have some deeper issues going on, and as a friend with good intuition, I want you to know that I'm here if you ever need to talk. I can't imagine what you're going through, but I can tell you that life has been no picnic here either (I apologize if it sounds like I'm saying this stuff to make everything about me, but I assure you, I am not. I just want you to know that I get it). I don't tell people this, but I'm constantly lonely and left in my head. My child is always at his grandparents' house (his choice), and there is just SO MUCH going on that my heart hurts and my brain is having trouble processing all of it. So without getting into further detail, I will say, please reach out anytime. I am on Facebook, and I do follow your page so I'll leave a comment so you know who I am. I'm here for you, Steve. Even if you just want to vent, please reach out. I know you have a huge heart, and I can see in your eyes that you're hurting over many things, but you're not alone, and I need you to remember that. You're in what I call the dark spot right now, and I know you're strong enough to pull yourself out, but please remember that if you need help, I'm here, and I know many other people in the community who would be there for you too. Take care of yourself, please, and I know I keep repeating myself, but feel free to reach out ANYTIME because as I said before, you're not alone. 💞🥺
Brian was the first person on TH-cam that i subscribed to. I felt personally sad that he got sick! He just seemed like a really neat guy.
We love you Steve!!! Here for you
I'm so sorry 😥 I know how rough it is to loose your animals, I hope you're doing ok or as well as could be expected 😔

Thanks Wally.
I'm really sorry Steve.
Sorry to hear about your critters, as I know how much pride you take their care. We are here, Steve O, whenever you are up to dropping content ❤

OH MY LORDESS AM SO SORRY ABOUT UR SNAKES.. sum1 sent me the link to this and I just watched the whole video. Am sorry for the snakes man. (May they rest in peace.)
I appreciate it.
Buzz me, mate.
I will.
Hey, Steve! I have a question for you. What is the weather like in MI in the fall? Is it really cold? Asking for a friend who is moving there to work. Thanks in advance. Btw, I hope you're doing well. Haven't seen you lately! :( Pop into Wally's chat and say hi once in a while. It's not the same without you! 😊👍
Hiya, sorry. The summer has kept me busy, and not in a bad way. Winters here, as I say, are kind of up to the person, and how they view cold, and winter haha. I LOVE the winter, and most people here do not. Most people love summer, I do not. So, fall is nice and so is spring, but both can lean heavily into Summer or Winter, sometimes, if that makes sense. I hope all has been well with you!
@@MIsopods That's great to hear! I'm so glad you're enjoying your Summer OFFLINE. lol! 😂 Good for you, Steve. :) I see what you're getting at there. I am pretty sure it's the same here in IL. Harsh Summers, harsh Winters. My friend will be just fine. You can normally tell by Fall or Spring if it's going to be a bad winter, same with a harsh Summer. So yes, I totally get it! Thank you so much. I'll let them know that it's the same as IL except I'm pretty sure you guys get a little more snow from the lake effect, depending on location in MI. I could be wrong though. Either way, I appreciate it. Thanks for the well wishes! Take care for now, Steve! 😊

Still can not believe Brian is gone. Life just is not fair. You are always in my thoughts and prayers Brian. You touched all our hearts. ❤️😢🙏

Very nice, stay connected! 3 like
I bet most people think you are gonna preach religion upon them. That would be my thought, were I to see a sign that said "Free conversations". Not picking on your idea at all, as I think it is really cool, but just my .02 cents on what I would think. Don't know what I would say differently, so will ponder on it a bit. I remember walking up to a guy with some Mormon pamphlets, I think they were, as I was awaiting a business to open, so had a few minutes. We struck up convo and he was a great guy. Of course, he was there solely to spread his word, so I made it clear from the outset, that I was not interested in joining, following, reading or taking him up on any moves toward his faith, but was happy to talk to him about it or anything else. . We ended up talking for over an hour and could tell he was impressed with how I approached critical thinking and his various "test" questions, to see how I would respond to stuff. At one point, he asked... "Do you think people are smarter today, than say 1K years ago?". I said... "No. They may be more educated, due to availability of knowledge, internet, libraries, books and the like, but smarter...? no, we are not". He was a good man, but he had kept trying to sneak in .."just read this one pamphlet and tell me what you think". Took a while, but he could not figure out, why I would not be interested, yet NOT be antagonistic or prejudice in some way against his faith. . Anyway, it was cool as I like to have in depth conversations with complete strangers. . EDIT: I know... "conversations.. pick ANY subject"
I suggest: take the pamphlet, and read it. Best case, you read it and it doesn't appeal, but now you know that. Other best case, you learn something new, about something you didn't know about before, even if it cements your lack of interest. Other best case, you read it, and realize whatever it is, is valid, and you change for the better.
@@MIsopods ... I have had enough exposure to many religions to realize that it is not for me. . Was hoping someone would take you up on your offer, as a couple girls did last time, but unfortunately... not to be. Keep trying and will find more willing to engage.
@@NinjaKittyBonks Uploading, as we speak....
@@NinjaKittyBonks And that aside, again, I don't have to adhere to something, or want to follow it, to learn about it. But, I want to learn about everything, so I know what's worth following, adhering to, emulating, etc. If I don't read a book, or engage with atheist stuff, muslim stuff, hindun stuff, jehova witness stuff, I won't know they are not MORE valid, than what I DO believe. That's the way my brain works, anyway. It's kind of the old rule I heard, about debating. A GOOD debater, generally goes out of their way to study what they do NOT believe. That way, they generally know the argument someone will make before they make it, and already have some framework, of WHY, as opposed to being caught off guard.
@@MIsopods 100% agreed, This is why I am following your path, as you talk about it in your Vlogs. Why I ask questions and the curiosity you have seen from me. I have respect for those who follow faith, as I said above, but no interest in following (practicing such faith) myself. I will never be versed well enough to quote passages from any religious text, be it the Bible, Quran or anything else, but in the end, the verses, passages and lessons taught within them, are done so from a particular perspective or vantage point. Therefore, I have no problem speaking from my own experiences and understanding of life to hold my own in any debate that is about the lessons or values learned, but not about the actual text itself 😺
This looks cool, but long day of podcasts and I am done now. Will make the catch up crew tomorrow morning 🐈
@@NinjaKittyBonks not much to see here. This is one to just click while you're cleaning or trying to sleep, and letting it play.
This is really nice. Just laxing playing a bit of Spider Solitaire, listening to nature sounds and watching the wavy water.. very cool 👍
Sometimes, I get frustrated when "nothing happens." No birds flying by, or random things showing up. But sometimes, just an hour of nothing but nature, is what some of us need.
@@MIsopods ... Yes. We have all been so accustomed to continuous input, and I make no exception of myself in that regard. So, to not only just slow WAY the hell down and just let nature do its thing, but not even feel a sense that I am "forcing" myself to do it, but rather just see a cool nature scene and immediately shift gears to lax and check that out mode.
Still can believe he’s gone, R.I.P Brian Barczyk!😢😢😢😢🙏🙏🙏🙏

Said it before, but I just love the rain. When the sky says... "hold your 🐴's there, gotta dump some water... deal with it!". No matter what any of us think, we are not the rulers of this world, nor should we be so arrogant to think we have the right to complain that it is ruining our plans. We must ..."deal with it". @@sarahsunshine8455 ... Well hello, ms. 🦎Queen and keeper of the Ab-Fab Mr. Rustinator the Uber Micro-Dino🥰 . so relaxing
I always liked the rain. Something about mild inclimate weather that comes in and gives the middle finger to whatever your plans might have been and says..."whatcha gon' do 'bout it?". These are simple reminders that humans are ever under forces outside of our control. We need a bit of humbling sometimes, so even a little rain that may change very little about our plans tells us to chill out, whether we like it or not. PS> Camera went black for minute at the 05:30 mark. For a moment, thought sure Blair Beaver took you out, but there is always hope for another day 😸
I think I fixed that blank spot. Thank you.
Very cool to watch garters will always have a place in my heart since they were one of my first pet snakes
I subscribed as well 🙌
I'm actually not a snake person remotely. I'm in my forties now, and never liked them. But in getting into all of this, I looked into them and fell in love with garters. I may be going out soon to see if I can find some in the woods!
@@MIsopods yeah I’m in my late thirties I’ve always liked them. When I was like seven I liked toads so I had big aquarium filled with dirt and had couple roads in there. I caught a smaller garter snake and not knowing put it in with the toads. I was kinda worried the toads might mess with him but that little garter ate all 3 that’s what I think started my interest with snakes. Yeah I definitely never kept toads and garters together again I thought the garter was going to die from all the toads but he made it. Shortly after that got a Savannah monitor and to me nothing compares and I’ve been keeping and breeding monitors since. I do have arachnids and few other critters but my main focus is working with Savannah monitors and luckily have had great success with them more than any other person in my opinion. Well that’s lil bit about myself
Well, then get out there and do a livestream hike, silly 🦎😾
