I, too, live in Montreal on the 3rd floor of a building, and have a balcony garden. I've never planted veggies, but I have a ton of flowers. Where did you get that trellis? I bought a beautiful sunflower for the first time last Saturday and on Monday morning, I woke up to find it decapitated by a squirrel. :( Now I want to protect the plant so that when the babies bloom, I can enjoy them. Look forward to seeing the progress of your garden. You may just inspire me to try cucumbers, beans, and lettuce next year.
