This, my friends, is not a coiled tubing job. How can you implement coiled tubing with a power swivel. That looks like a snubbing trailer backed in at the floor.

He looks like he's dressed like a derrick hand, not a floor hand. Maybe he begged them to let him try making a joint lol If he is a derrick hand, he'd be used to releasing the elevators and letting the pipe rest on the deck or in the rack. I don't even see slips anywhere there on the floor. I bet his glance toward the hole was the last time he'll ever get to be on a rig floor for quite some time. No one stopped him, though. A lot of lost wages there for the crew, and money for the drilling company.

Where's his belly-rope? Where's his fall arrestor line?? Drug tests all around...

These guys had disconnected the wireline lubricator from the top of the shooting nipple. The wireline tools were dangling out of the shooting nipple and they were going to lay them down. When the flow accelerated, the guy signaled for the wireline operator to pull the tools up...probably so he could reattach the lubricator to the shooting nipple. He quickly abandon this when the flow got wild. Somebody shut the blind rams and the flow stopped. The blind rams are below the bottom of the shooting nipple which is held in place by either the upper pipe rams or the annular BOP. At the end, they are scurrying to reattach the lubricator, but the problem is already over because of the blind rams. This is just freaked out hands who haven't processed what just happened. The lesson they need to learn is monitor the well on the trip tank during wireline operations and do a flow check to make sure the well is dead before disconnecting the lubricator.

I think that was a little more than a pinch.......

That isn't a casing coupling they dropped in the well. It's a drill bit that fell out of a bit breaker because the latch on the bit breaker wasn't secured. Whoever captioned this video must not have worked on a drilling rig.

We had that happen on our rig bout 25 yrs ago. Made the guy hang around and fish it out w/overshot. Told him NP, happens all the time, it was all overtime til we git it out. When he got it out two days later, he was fired on the spot. No pay. He tried to drop it back in, but we were ready for that.
