Kazzaville's Classic Audiobooks
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 2 มิ.ย. 2021
Classic works to help you grow in faith and life - books that will change your life if you let them. I'm focusing on works from all of the major streams of Christianity - (Eastern) #Orthodox , #Catholic , & #Protestant.
I began reading aloud to others as a young child and made it a daily practice in our family life, reading a chapter of a great book aloud to my husband and six children as we gathered around the dinner table each evening. A key part of my children's home school education was that I read aloud to them each day as we delved into all kinds of interesting topics and read very widely in literature, history, science, biographies, heroes of the faith, and much more. Please visit www.sculleyfamily.com/ for lots of other suggestions & inspirations, and check out my 4 other channels also - links are in the banner!

Part 2, Chapter 2, Section XII-1 - The Nazarene (Sholem Asch)
"The Nazarene" is a wonderfully imagined re-telling of the life of Christ, executed magnificently and respectfully by one of the century's great writers. The story of Jesus is told from three distinct perspectives: a Roman, a disciple and a young Jew. Asch's inspired work presents a sweeping, glowing panorama of the Holy Land nearly two thousand years ago during the most dramatic period of human history. "The Nazarene" is a work of art as stimulating as it is reverent, as warmly satisfying as it is brilliant.
Sholem Asch (1880-1957) was a Polish-Jewish novelist, dramatist, and essayist in the Yiddish language who settled in the United States. Asch was believed to have adopted much of his own philosophies from his father, including love of God, love of neighbor, and concern for Jewish-Christian reconciliation. One of Asch's major goals in his writing was to articulate Jewish life, past and present, placing the Jew at the center of every work, along with an awareness of the Jewish relationship with the outside world. He was repelled and intrigued by Christian violence and was inspired by Jewish martyrdom and survival. Some of his most frequent recurring themes were faith, goodness, and generosity. Asch's fiction can mostly be put into three categories: Eastern European Jewish life; Jewish life in America; Biblical novels.

I have been searching for this Thankyou ❤
My pleasure - Teresa of Avila is a gift to us all!
❤Just went from mono to dual stereo… AWESOME!
❤thank you for taking the time to read 1939’s “The Nazarene” aloud and make it available to those of us who have recently discovered Sholem Asch’s brilliant writings! I am in the middle of reading a very old hardback copy of “Mary” and certain passages make me burst into tears. He is accessing a different level of the Yeshua narrative. Your voice is lovely…I detect a slight accent!
You are so welcome! I do plan to record "Mary" after I finish this one (it might be awhile - please be patient with me :)) - I appreciate your kind encouragement!
Hear, hear. I've said something similar on a job or three.
🙏
Being able to listen to your reading is great; I can be both Martha and Mary, tidying the kitchen while listening to your words. Thank you.
I am so glad this is a blessing to you - thank you for your kind encouragement :)
Excellent is our God.
Love and peace. This mighty Lord god Jesus Christ his believer’s and followers. So that India will be overflowing with his followers. No nuns and priests should force people to obey them.
God, who is perfect, chooses to work through imperfect humans (who are capable of great good AND great harm) - yes, may the Lord Jesus Christ's love and peace abound all over the world - all glory to God!
@@kazzaville-audiobooks Who is like the Lord GOD. He is like a gentle farmer who is patient with a terrible season, even for the sake of just five good fruits in a whole farm. Glory the the LORD Jesus Christ.

You are very welcome! Thank you for your kind encouragement, and God bless you, too!
Thank you very much for sharing this❤
You're so welcome! It's a pleasure for me to share Bonhoeffer's beautiful writings, a blessing to us all!
Amen in Jesus name 🙏.
People must stop thinking there is some man in the sky coming to save you , you are here to save yourself.
The point of Christianity is that God came in human form, precisely because we are not able to save ourselves - it was love for us, God's beloved image-bearers, that motivated God to do this. In Jesus Christ we see who God is and who we are created to be. Jesus Christ is a real historical person who lived and died and rose again, all out of love for all people who have ever and will ever live. Everything hinges on that, the resurrection, for in Christ's resurrection is our hope of resurrection and the restoration of all things, including all people and all of creation. Sorry for the lengthy answer - I'm passionate about this :)
As soon as you say “He” …. We know you are talking about gender and the true creator and connecter is LOVE. NATURE. Nature is God. God is all. Allah. All-ah. Ahhh all is God. God is love. The light and the darkness.
The word "he" is a limitation associated with human language in general and English language in particular. God is neither male nor female - God created all people in the image of God, regardless of gender. Yes, God is love (God's nature and essence), and God is also a personal being who created all things, as both sovereign over all of creation and entering into it with us (see my previous response). C. S. Lewis and all other Christ-followers live within a culture and therefore we don't always get it right. Only God speaks perfectly (our interpretations are imperfect).
Yes please I LIKED it TOO 😮
Christ is our strength in sorrow and despair. Amen. Thank you for posting Dickens! Let us all repent as Ebenezer did, and pray with him, "Lord, let me live an altered life!" (A Christmas Carol)
Yes and amen to that! (also, you're welcome :))
Thank you so much for uploading this poem from Amy Carmichael. I was looking for this poem so much whithout success untill now. GOD Bless you.
You're so welcome - Amy Carmichael is such a blessing to us all!
@@kazzaville-audiobooks Yes she Is. Im trying to find another one from Amy, which Is Rose from Brier. Do you happen to have it? If you do, please make a video reading it. Blessings for you again.
I would be very happy to record that book - hopefully I can begin in a couple of weeks - thank you for requesting it!
@@kazzaville-audiobooks That's amazing! Thank you so much. I'll hold.🙏

That is great feedback - thank you, Terapyen. Does the TH-cam captions option work for you? (I often use those myself)
To be psychique is to be spiritual.Psychic people are highly spiritual. They vibrate on a very high positive vibration. They full of love, kindness, sensitivity and knowing or knowledge. How come Christians can not see beyond the physical. Because they are too evil. They have no spirituality in them. They have eyes but they cannot see. Ears have they but they cannot hear. Jesus Christs words these are. And he spoke to his own people. So called believers are doing the work of Satan today. The Christian church has Satanic Luciferian preachers who have secured the “ministry” and the pulpits for themselves. Sabbath and Sunday worshipers alike. We all have Freemasons and Satanic Jesuit priests preaching from the pulpits. Jesus Christ has been put out of all Christian places of worship. He was put out of the church so men could be seen and heard for the Satanic agenda. To keep the people in the dark. To propagate the lies and deceptions until time is up and the people have received no warning of the solar flares that are hitting the earth and many other things.

This quote comes from chapter 15 and describes the immense grief that Susan and Lucy experienced after Aslan died (spoiler: he didn't stay dead). Hope this helps with the context. Of course if you haven't read it yet, I highly recommend this book / series (Chronicles of Narnia)!
