Anyone get a warning before this video?
KB what a legend... lm a magpie supporter but KB is one of my favourites of all time.. and my favourite radio host l've hardly listened to SEN since KB departed
I guess it's kind of ironic how right before breaking news as soon as the first plane hit the north tower there were reports of a car that had burst into flames, then afterwards a report on when John Howard had his first face to face meeting with George W. Bush
Foreshadowing of what was to occur
Imogen Bailey..WOW!!!!!!!
The boy from Tyntynder, population 151.
Hutchy with hair!
Did Captain and The Major broadcast their footy calls when 3KZ moved to the FM band on the radio dials back then?
Sandra Sully, Angela Bishop Deborah knight still going, all looking and sounding much the same does Angela Bishop ever make a bad item she so consistently good for decades so nice
I was @ the MCG that day to see that GRAND FINAL !!!!!!
Great stuff
He was a great fighter but he didn't fight Lennox Lewis . Lennox was around while he was still fighting .Not in his best days ofcourse but he didn't want to fight Lennox Lewis and I would really loved to se that fight betwin them
Possibly West Coast’s new Coach 😮
July 20 2001
They didn’t ask him about the trapdoor in his office at Punt rd .
This team changed Australian women's sprinting - Alice, Libby and Jodie particularly - they were the inspiration for the Campbell sisters, for Molly, Emma McKeon, even Arnie. Australian Women's swimming came alive. Cate Campbell took it to another level. But Libby and Jodie particularly - they were the renaissance of Australian Women's sprinting.
I saw the 2015 Grand final with no commentary and just crowd noise. Wish I could do it every week
Freak mark.
What football is this?
Australian Rules.
I love this, it's similar to how infomercials sell disability aids to the general public by suggesting how they can also be useful to abled people. Here, we're being shown how captioning can help abled people as well as d/Deaf and hearing impaired people.
He was a fuckin good fast bowler between October 1982 and march 1985.
Warney always in our hearts bro. The night against South Africa in the first 1 Dayer at The G when you were drop punting tennis balls back into us, what a night!! Love you always bro!! RIP ❤❤
22:21 dirty play when Wayne Walsh No.7 Richmond knees his opponent then kicks him under the chin... Neil Balme was a real thug in this game. his hit on Southby 49:03 was straight out assault.
In 2024 this seems like a parody !!!
“We’re not a one-man team.” And yet as soon as Carey left, North was never the same again. Pagan’s Paddock worked because it was built around Carey’s skills in the forward line. Without him, it was never going to work.
It’s Friday Night Football on Channel Nine.
I too had the number 4 on my back growing up. Thank you Rhett. I struggle to divide the two greatest number 4s as who is better, Royce or Dusty. I don't care TBH, they are both the greatest and I am blessed to have seen them both.
The fans today don't realise how huge Royce was back in the day. You'd go to a game & 90% of supporters who wore a Tigers jumper or duffle coat had the no. 4 on their backs. The opposition fans would never sledge him, they were awed by him as well. He was the player they all wanted in their team. When he took a mark, played on and swung onto his left boot it gave you a great thrill. There were no easy possessions in those days, particularly the way Hafey had the team playing, and Royce was the master at winning the ball in the air or on the ground. Spoiling him in the air was only part of the job for a defender because his ground skills and recovery were premium, he was never beaten, never gave up. It was tragic that arthroscopy wasn't around then as his knee injury curtailed his career by about 100 games. Someone should write his biography, it'd sell really well. Why not you, Rhett? Would he co-operate with an author?
Great sentiments, and l couldn't agree more.
It’s the debut of AFL on Nine.
This is AFL on Nine.
Magnificent again Rhett.. Thanks 👍
A legend gone too soon miss you jc
The GOAT for Richmond.
Eddie would have enjoyed this call...not.
Hi Rhett, Do you have many more of these tapes with off-air transmission/raw broadcast feeds of games?
Multiple Air Force ads whilst young men were watching their sports show, very smart targeted advertising especially considering the war in Afghanistan was barely a year old 😂
Everything changed forever for Port and the SANFL after this game.
Thanks, Rhett. My favourite Tiger growing up.
Fantastic stuff Rhett, loved Royce, got a signed photo on my lounge wall but it was signed on the glass and the heat we get here in Albury during summer is wearing it off, wish he hadve signed the actually photo.
"The great man" Shivers down my spine
Good on you, Simon Meredith. I remember this, and it was a moment for me that gave umpires a level of humanity and inspired me to umpire junior football. Absolute legend. I hope you get to 500 games, man.
change room footy dressing room crickey
Reputation along with the usually useless Umpire John Sutcliffe caused the report … Sutcliffe would be an A-Grade rated Snr AFL umpire today - that’s how bad it’s gotten!!!
Thanks for sharing an international perspective on this historic event
Everything about the game has changed from that era - the strategies, the techniques, the training, conditioning, the rules, even the detailed shape of the ball. Everything except the most iconic and defining skill; the high flying contested mark to which John Coleman did better than anyone else of his era. Although the remaining films do not capture this to any great extent, many of the surviving still pics do and It highlights a grace, balance even artistry to complement the consistent authority he displayed in the air.
"this is not about me"....babbles on about himself!!!
Well done Dipper! Probably his best work.
Better than welcome to country
Fyfe's footy flicks did a cartoon out of this
