@@orlandodurr13 sincerely thank you for making a contract offer we couldn’t match.
Edit: I misspoke and said Brian Robinson Jr was a pro bowler, I meant Terry McLaurin. Also Washington scored on 3 turnovers not 4.
they overpaid him so he couldnt leave
Call me an idiot and call me a fool, but I say it’s WAY too early to call Love overpaid. He made idiotic decisions this year, sure. This was a lost year for him in terms of development imo. But I think he needs two more years to be considered overpaid. It’s just where the market was you can’t just let your QB walk, as you said. Would have made zero sense. I think Love has shown he has the talent and has what it takes, he just needs to as LaFleur said take that leadership role. Because with how our team is structured he has become the backbone and it seems like the guys respect him. He just needs to clean up next season. And I think this next season will be a big one, we’ll see if Jordan Love progresses. But I have faith.
I want the best from him as much as anyone else, the mistakes and regular injuries make me very cautious on his overall value. The team in my opinion is lacking guys who have effort and wanna really play. I saw a lot of quit in the offense after those first couple turnovers but it could be a maturity thing with backups. Crossing my fingers and hoping for the best and maybe we’ll get back to the Super Bowl eventually.
Love the video dude, just one thing I would say is to possibly get a light for your room so we can see you better. Otherwise love it!
@@michaelmittag001 I appreciate it man! I have a ring light currently but it doesn’t work worth a damn. Gonna look into a soft box light and record more during the day time. Make sure to subscribe if you haven’t already! I appreciate the support.
I think most people that were paying attention would probably agree that the playoff game against the Cowboys last year went a long way in securing Jordan Love's contract haul. The issue I think is that after the Cowboys gave up 40+ points in blowout losses to the Saints, Lions, and Eagles, and 30+ points in another 3 losses this season, people probably should've realized that running it up on the Cowboys was not the metric of success it seemed like. People forget that LaFleur was doing everything he could to pump the breaks before the start of last season, because he didn't want people to get too hyped for Jordan Love. And for the first half of the season, people understood why. Of course, he had that insane second half streak, topped off by the Dallas game, and people thought he arrived. But then he wound up ending the Packers season in the 49ers game last year on one of the most unnecessarily stupid throws an NFL QB could possibly make. Package all that with the fact that a limited NFL QB like Malik Willis was able to pretty seamlessly step in this year when Jordan Love was out, and the fact that LaFleur said that Jordan Love needs to be a more vocal leader in the locker room, and it's not nothing. I think it's possible that, 1) LaFleur's coaching got Jordan Love paid off a career performance, just like it got Matt Schaub, RGIII, Matt Ryan, sophomore season Jared Goff, and Aaron Rodgers to have career stretches before him; 2) LaFleur is not entirely sold on Jordan Love.
@@HeyJoeBaby I agree in your assessment minus two things. Malik stepped in probably at the best two game stretch of the season beating up on Tennessee and Indy. In my opinion he’s purely a game manager, but in some teams cases that’s all it takes to win. I still think the Dallas game his performance was very telling, his accuracy and ball placement was second to none. He still played pretty well in the San Francisco game but the picks were about as boneheaded as you could get. I gave him leeway and expected him to grow from it and take less risks with the football, and through the first 8 weeks it was back to old Jordan Love. After the media got on his ass he cleaned up his play and went several games without a turnover. His contract debacle was purely happenstance, you cannot refuse to give him a long term deal after winning a playoff game in his first start. But that’s the risk you take when you have a guy develop over several years. The fact of the matter is he wasn’t healthy at any point this season, to what extent those injuries held him back I honestly have no idea. Not to mention losing your main deep threat in Watson was a killer. In my opinion Love has to tackle the off-season and figure out his decision making and LeFleur needs to do the same with his play calling. No playoff games will be won with 4 turnovers in a game. It’s still way to early to determine if he deserves that money. I’m with you on most of your points and think I hit on them pretty well in the video. Thanks for watching, any personal critiques for the video? Quality, narration, storytelling. I appreciate anything you got for me.
@@GabeDavisProductions Vocal quality is excellent, good scripting that was to the point with no rambling, while being entertaining. I'll keep an eye out in future videos since I know you're looking for feedback, but in the opinion of this random guy, you're clearly very skilled at this from the one video I've watched. Plus I'm not a Green Bay fan, so I found this interesting purely as an outside party.
@@HeyJoeBaby Great to hear! You clearly know your stuff so I look forward to hearing your opinions on future videos. Any topics you think you’d enjoy, or things the community as a whole would enjoy? Playoff season is quickly coming to an end so the idea board is running thin.
@@GabeDavisProductions Honestly I am pretty footballed out at this point in the season. Maybe some draft content. I am a basketball man, myself, so maybe some more basketball content, though since it looks like it's been a while since you made basketball content, you might have pivoted to football as a focus for all I know. I thought your video on the perils of +/- in basketball was very good, though.
Jordan Love was injured very literally in the first game of the season, and then was injured, repeatedly, throughout the rest of the season. It's wild to see fans, and sports outlets claim things like that their loss to the Eagles was somehow "alarming", or that he has become some kind of a thief for the contract he signed before the season began. Wait until he is 100% before you begin to actually criticize him. Wait until he plays a full season without injuring his throwing hand. I don't think any actual fan believed we would win that game. We simply had hope that we would. If we didn't have Willis, who helped carry Green Bay during Love's absence, we wouldn't have even made the playoffs.
@@valleypioneer Did you not watch the whole video? I mention him being injured the minute he walked on the field week one.
@@GabeDavisProductions I did. My overall point was more to the narrative that fans, and that the mainstream media have been pushing out rather relentlessly. You did mention him being injured, but I've seen almost no mention of that from the mainstream media. It's just, "Love isn't the real deal", and it's like, how can he be a peak QB if he's injured? The Eagles also played like trash. The fact they didn't put Willis in makes me question Matt LaFleur's actual coaching ability.
@ I gotta disagree about putting Willis in there. At that point it becomes an admission of guilt by the coach that love in some way is incapable. Willis also was questionable for the game with his own finger injury so I’m not sure he would’ve been able to go regardless. Next year is make or break production wise. Love has to show some sort of development in his decision making. I give him credit for the 400-ish snaps he didn’t turn the ball over for but in big games he put us behind quick due to bad decision making. I would love for him to have a healthy season to see if he’s really capable, but I put a lot of blame in the coaching staff for rushing him back when Willis was winning games.

@@GabeDavisProductionsif i’m being honest, as a bears fan who can tell when inconsistent QB play will hold you back, Jordan love is NOT a $55 mil a year qb. 2 int this wildcard i believe and throwing the game sealing int last year. idk man, ik the bears suck, you should maybe take on a similar philosophy towards Love till he can prove otherwise😅 good breakdown regardless
@ You live and die by the gunslinger. I wanna give him the benefit of the doubt with lack of offensive weapons and banged up O Line but on the other hand he kept us out of the game. Rarely ever can a team turnover the ball more than once and still win. I wanted to see more from the kid before we paid him but unfortunately at that point he wasn’t gonna accept a one year and we’d be kicking ourselves if he walked to another team and lit it up.
@ honestly yeah, ig you kinda have to live or die by him cuz good starting qbs are very rare tbh. i mean he looked in the 2nd half of the last couple seasons. if he can learn consistency then you got u one. i hope to god caleb can take a leap forward with another coach. speaking of….how willing are you to give up MLF👀
@ Caleb looks promising in my opinion. You guys need a competent HC. I was a huge Caleb doubter but he surprised me with his first year production. I’m always more patient when it comes to QB’s. Josh Allen is a prime example of what a guy could turn into if franchises didn’t have a knee jerk reaction to bad decision making by the QB their rookie year. MLF I could take him or leave him honestly. We won the games we were supposed to but the offensive scheme was one dimensional this year. Use Jacobs as a crutch first and second down then heave a deep ball on third down. We were one of the slowest starting and worst first half teams in the league so I’m not sure if it’s a motivation issue or MLF makes opponents out to be scrubs. Second half performance has been spectacular though. I’d say he is just as equally to blame in big game losses as Love. He needs to improve his first half coaching for sure. But he’s still pretty young so I’m trying to be patient with these guys.
I will always give Tomlin credit for winning SB 43. He was able to lead that team to a SB win when Cowher struggled for years to get over the hump. Then when he made it to SB 45 I thought he had surpassed Cowher. After they lost to Tebow and the Broncos I started to question whether Tomlin was the guy. Then the Steelers as an organization started doing things that was unlike them, forcing Bruce Arians and Dick Lebeau out for example. It all makes sense now, Tomlin has broken the team down so he is in control of everything. Thats why he hires bad assistants, and he has control over everything but his own players. He has turned the Steelers into a clown show. I've been on the fence about him for years, the latest playoff debacle put me over the fence. I will never root against the Steelers, but I will never root for Tomlin to win again.
Ever since he lost Bruce Arians and Dick LeBeau, he's taken control over platforming and scheming. That's why he's wasted some of the most talented rosters in the NFL. He will never win a super bowl until he gives that up again.
THAT SEAHAWKS ONE WAS RIGGED
Update 28-14 Baltimore. Played out exactly as I expected. Time to see what Pittsburgh management decides now. Got a lot of guys out there making business decisions instead of playing football. Tomlin has effectively lost the locker room.

He’s not going anywhere and the Steelers are gonna be stuck with the same shitty predictable results!
As long as there's a winning season, he's safe. Pittsburgh is for coaches what Green Bay is for quarterbacks, nobody gets the axe unless you leave an unalived body in the elevator.
I hope Russ wins in the playoffs and am rooting for him but he honestly looks a little lost but we shall see.
Imagine being upset over winning seasons.. lol y’all are clowns
Missed the point by a mile bro. We are sick of being JUST average. We are sick of having the division in our hands and somehow not getting it. We are sick of 8+ years of being a playoff confidence booster for real contenders. We are sick of our season basically being over as soon as Tomlin gets 10 wins
@ a winning season isn’t average tho. By definition it is above average. If you move on from Tomlin he will be the number one target for every coach needy team. That’s not what you want. Steelers fans do not know how good they have it.
@mavrick1992 that's exactly what we want and need. Let another team sign him and be average and a guaranteed first round exit. Most of us wouldn't mind a few losing seasons if it meant we get to draft a franchise QB again because that's what happened last time we had a losing season. And the actual contenders won't sign him so if anything he'll end up on the Jags or the Bears and that's fine
@@mavrick1992 the fact you mfs think sub par .800 seasons and going one and done is having it good 😂

Can’t lie, this is a horrible take. Since Tomlin had an old Big Ben, he hasn’t had a competent quarterback. And the “lack of a locker room culture” based off a single player is a wild take.
@@spilledmilk1262 Dionte Johnson? That dude was a cancer. JuJu turned into one late in his career. Plenty of guys that were more concerned about doing a first down dance than getting set for the next play. Quarterback development is also partially on the head coach. You’re telling me out of the 6 different QB’s that have started since Ben retired none of them were competent?
@ that is exactly what I’m saying. Name one competent qb they’ve had since Big Ben. I did forget about juju and diontae johnson but then again one of them focused on TikTok and fell into mediocrity and the other obviously didn’t care about football. The Steelers and their culture besides those outliers is something to admire, kinda similar to that of the eagles. It’s far more surprising that Mike Tomlin continues to have winning teams with what little he has to work with. I mean look at this year; you could argue it’s the best roster he’s had in a while and they have a washed Russ at the helm 😭 just my 2 cents bro, but I typed a lot more to call it 2 cents lol
@@spilledmilk1262 And whose fault is that? You Tomlin Defenders keep acting like QBs just fall out of the sky randomly and whoever you get is who you get. He had just as much say if not even more than Colbert did. He DEFINITELY has more say than Khan. He had the QBs he wanted and believed in and in Mason and Pickett's cases, the QBs he specifically scouted, liked and drafted. Colbert didn't randomly pick two guys and force them on Tomlin. Tomlin could barely contain his drooling and gushing when talking about Pickett after they drafted him. That was HIS guy.
Ok. What about when he had prime Big Ben, top 5 defenses, the best oline in football, half of game wife receiver and the best running back in football?
You can't blame Tomlin for losses when their GM keeps giving him absolute dogshit for quarterbacks.
@@rogerswab2131 Head Coach I’m sure has some say in who they draft. Tomlin visited Pickett when he was in college so obviously he thought he was the guy.
You can't blame Tomlin at all. Only give him credit. That is the standard
How are they supposed to get a QB when Tomlin seems more attached to his winning season streak than being willing to take the plunge on a bad year to acquire a quality pick? There’s a reason they’ve been good at almost every position *except* QB at some point between 2010 and now: because you can still grab quality players at those positions with a starting draft position of 16 or lower. And discredit where it’s due here, my guy John Harbaugh almost fell into the same crack, he just got insanely lucky that Ozzie Newsome “gambled” a first round pick on a guy who is now an obvious first ballot HoFer in Lamar Jackson.
@USALeonHeart I agree with everything you said. But right now only Patrick Mahomes and maybe Arron Rodgers are the only obvious FRBHOFers at the QB spot
@@USALeonHeart ding ding ding. Quality QB’s are hard to come by and picks 10-32 are not the place to find them. It’s become very evident that a majority of Tomlin defenders are from other franchises that have no rings so there’s no championship expectations. Most Pitt fans are tired of the regular season win merchant and have been for years.
Post season failure , but has a Super Bowl win.

Y'all are nuts. If the Steelers ever gave Tomlin a legit starting QB, instead of Terminal Big Ben, Mason Rudolph and the Justin/Russ connection, the "playoff mediocrity" of "Mr. 500" would likely not be an issue.
That’s not the point any more. There is too much that he refuses to change. It’s time to GO
Maya Rudolph?
What did he do with the last 11 years with Ben? His style is outdated. He has no offensive mind. He brings in coordinators that will never challenge him. He’s a dictator. It’s been like this for over a decade. Even 70s Steelers legends can’t stand him. Go look at what Bradshaw and Lambert have said. They can’t stand him.
@@daccitv4651 TJ and the current team like him. Bradshaw and Lambert haven't played in over 45 years😅😅😅 Stop making up💩🙄
He was part of the reason that most of those QBs were there. He's not some helpless maiden who has no say in the draft, you weirdo. He actually had virtually MORE say than GM Kevin Colbert. He had Ben for his entire career save the one year Cowher had him. That includes having him for the Killer Bs era when the Steelers became the first team in NFL history to have a 4,500-yard passer, 1,500-yard receiver and 1,300-yard rusher in the same season. And Tomlin won NOTHING with them. He and Colbert massively over-graded Mason who they said they had a "first round grade" on. Nice guy but hardly a franchise starter who can compete with Mahomes, Lamar, Allen, etc. He was given a chance to play for his career in TN and he finishes the season there with 1500 YDS, 9 TD, 9 INT and several games he single-handedly lost by being unable to throw a single TD and/or throwing interceptions. A 1:1 TD to INT ratio will NEVER get it done as a franchise QB. He was practically turning into a "hearts" emoji with the heart eyes when talking about Kenny Pickett after they drafted him and how he'd sneak away every moment he could since Pitt uses the same facility as the Steelers. He LOVED loved loved LOVED that kid. That was going to be HIS QB that he picked, he developed. He had a lot to do with Russ being a Steeler too. So please stop with the "poor poor waif Tomlin" act. Tomlin is a reason the QBs are the QBs and he's also a reason that many have been very limited. He's hired several craptastic OCs whose only gameplan is run run run run and then some desperation heave on 3rd & 34.

He can know plsy in the Pelican Bay prison league.
I watched his career from day one, he played like a vet from the first game and played big in the playoffs, like a Nick Van Exel or Sam Cassell did, and Toney played both ends, smart passer, high IQ player, no he never locked up Bird, no one ever did that, but at 6 3" he would play Bird tough when we needed him to, in 1983 when we won it all, I was at the parade on Broad Street, Toney was the second option behind Malone, Doc was the 3rd, no Toney, no ring. When he got hurt he got screwed by the owner, Harold Katz and team management and the Philly press did not help, how his injury was questioned and his desire to play was rotten. Like I said in 1983, no Toney, no ring, he was absolutely vital, a killer.
