Building my version of the flyer @SRHacksaw . I'm going to be making another one this winter and extending it to 14 feet.

My first attempt at a real time lapse video that didn't use a cell phone app. Shot with a Canon T7 413 frames, 22mm, F3.5, ISO6400, 10" exposure @ 12" interval. I need a lot more practice in editing and need to control the color flicker, but I'm pretty pleased with it.
@ 8 minutes 36 seconds you added something to the glue. What was it?
@davshaw419 it was water diluted titebond 3 waterproof glue. Roughly a 4 to 1 ratio glue to water
Great video! I don’t mean to be negative, but you could sure use some more editing. Watching you paint the boat brush stroke by brush stroke is a bit tedious. Good job.
Fiberglass is for wusses.
Awesome build
@@philliprude5997 thank you
philliprude - Thanks, dude. Diet and exercise. That's what it takes.
Love it, how much did it weigh
@horacehaynes4540 thank you, it weighs 41 pounds
Hello, this is my winter time project for the speing time fishing. Is it strong enought?
@@Gadiornik is most definitely strong enough, I've had right at 400 pounds in mine and had zero problems. I also paddled it 97 miles the first summer
I like the build. I can think of some options for his "poor man's fiber glass" and did not see them listed in the description nor in the video. Could you list what you used?
It is a drop cloth and a shit ton of Titebond II. The drop cloth sucks up a bunch of the glue.

How's the pourman fiberglass holding up?
Excellent, I have paddled the boat well over a hundred miles and not a single issue. Not to mention the boat in stored outside in the brutal northern Michigan winter.
@richharris9036 it might be a good solution for a build I'm doing right now. I'm making a sailing jon boat bit I want a float collar to help stabilize. Need a hard caver for foam collar
HowToGardenChannel - poorman
I saw another boat build just like this, is there any advantage to gluing two boards together along the center other than it probably helps ensure both sides are exactly the same? And is this shape better than a rectangular Jon boatish style hull? I assume the curved sides add a bit more strength than a flat side Also, go Orioles!!!
Where is The name of The components which all Time you painting . And Now is more ekspensive so buy The used boat
Is fiberglass getting hot and molt the foam ? haw
Props to you man....people are so scared to try something new and fail they never try at all.
==vvvvvv
Very well done 👍
Thank you
I plan on doing this using Titebond 3 and truck bed liner. Don't tell my wife.
How thick was the insulation you used, sheets, cost of total project and was canvas like tent canvas used instead of fiberglass? Thanks, that's is an awesome build!
It was 1 inch thick foam board insulation. 2 sheets. The canvas was a painters drop cloth and titebond 3 waterproof glue. 1/8th inch lathe strips inside and out on the gunwhales. Thanks for the comment. The total cost was about $140. However, those same supplies now would likely be triple that amount.
Great job! I’m gona give it a go
Looks great! Might be my next build.
Thanks
Moutainandmolehill - It won't be.
@@jonhohensee3258 why would you say that? I already built a Kara Hummer, and I need something really light to drag out to the duck swamp.
@@Mountainandmolehill You won't do it.
How much does it weigh?
It weighs 41 pounds. The original plans used a much lighter fabric and would only weigh 27 pounds. I fish mostly in a river with tons of logs and sticks, so I decided on canvas to ensure that I didn't puncture it.
What is the material you use to make the boat?
It is insulation foam board, and I used canvas for a covering, along with titebond 3 waterproof glue.
when you make a new one, pls make it more step by step as it is easier for me (as no brainer and no experience) to understand the process ... many thx... 🙂👍
You can purchase the plans for the boat and watch the original builders video @ SRHacksaw
