I'll try to be objective with what I see in the race, but I know the result sucks and that it wasn't a good call by the marshalls to disregard the back half of the field after so many laps into the race. Wall of text with timestamps: 3:13 - Helluva start from #63, and good on you to tuck in behind him and get to the inside ASAP Memphis being an unfortunate example of being stuck on the outside of a train through multiple corners 3:22 - #68 with a full-speed divebomb to push #63 out of the way. Dick move, and should've been penalized. Hope he doesn't show up later... 3:35 - #63 with the two-for-one switcharoo! One of my absolute favorite moves to pull off, and why I hate being side-by-side through fast corners. 3:31 - hindsight helps here but the lesson is to adjust your line when being side-by-side. You chose to focus on the kart (Memphis btw) to your outside, rather than your position on the inside line. Memphis isn't even all the way out to the wall, so you're too far on the inside to take a good racing line through the corner. Also, you know that there's multiple karts close behind you, and this is for third place! Be an immovable object on the inside, park it if you have to, and force anyone else to beat you substantially around the outside. 3:42 - Obviously not intentional, but hitting the wall kills your momentum. I think you should shift your focus here to holding your position. One error a race does not ruin, but multiple errors can, so refocusing on clean and fast racing is the key. You're not out of it by any means, and it's a longer race than you think at the time. 3:47 - A small mistake from #63 ahead to take such a wide entry and slow speed through the first hairpin, but after the chicane you aren't in a position to be taking advantage of it. Lunging for a move and creating contact in the process will slow you down, and probably slow both karts down. Here it hurts you more to kill your momentum than simply staying on the racing line and regaining towards #63. If you're on #63's bumper going into the hairpin, it's a different story. I won't pretend like it's easy, or that I haven't made bad calls to try and pass someone. But this move being back-to-back with the wall bump, I'm not surprised that #67 slid through and passed you on the second hairpin. The time you gain from 4:04 to 4:09 when #63 makes an error is what you could've regained at 3:47 as well... 4:22 - The karts ahead aren't even getting a clean exit, yet are pulling away from you. 4:44 - At this point I'm noticing a pattern. The only chance I have of catching P3 is in a different kart with the same acceleration/topspeed as #63 and #67. This is the only issue I see with your kart at this point, but the earlier you signal an issue, the better chance someone will see it, the higher likelihood a marshall will yellow flag the race, and the more laps in the race you'll have to work with in the new kart. 5:00 - I'm convinced at this point you don't have the same power as the karts you're chasing. Clearly and obviously hold the thumbs-down for as long and as frequently as you can, and be as vocally obvious and stubborn about it. 5:30 - Friendly nudge from Memphis 6:16 - Too little too late. This is the first thumbs-down I see from you, and honestly that's not a long signal for a swap either. I get that you are complaining and frustrated with what's happened to the kart, but you have to be far more clear and obvious about it as early as you notice anything wrong.
