Ride through Abandoned Tunnels of Pennsylvania Turnpike

It was rainy, cold and windy. And there was something in the Tunnel obstructing the opposite end. The Turnpike has an interesting history and some interesting facts about the Turnpikes origin. #turnpike #abandonedplaces
Church of the Pennsylvania Turnpike

The Church was built in 1890 in the small mountain town of New Baltimore PA. Why did the Pennsylvania Turnpike cut the church off from the town. Located at Mile 129 of the Pennsylvania Turnpike. The Church and Event Center were amazing. #carmelites #catholicchurch #catholic New Baltimore Catholic Church and Event Center Web Site: newbaltimorecatholic.com/ Music www.pond5.com/ www.epidemicsound....

I enjoyed your video. My great-grandfather has 3 siblings buried in the Beaver Lodge Cemetery in Ekalaka: Ruth Patterson Harpster, Belle Patterson Heckathorn, and Perry Patterson. Ruth and her husband Charles moved to Ekalaka between 1910 and 1913. Perry moved there after a divorce and Belle lived there for a time. She died in North Dakota but was brought back for burial in Ekalaka. I hope to visit Ekalaka some day. Came close in 2019 but ran out of time. It's still on my bucket list. Thanks for taking us there.

I love Montana, we lived there in Glagow during my dad's AF career, Glasgow Air Force Base (which is no longer there). We've also been to Great Falls, Montana. It's a wonderful place, snow and all!!!

Great video! We drove from Devil’s Tower (Wyoming) up to Baker, MT a few days ago. Took Hwy 323 from Alzada to Ekalaka, and then Hwy 7 up to Baker (on our way to North Dakota). We didn’t have time to stop in Ekalaka or Medicine Rocks SP, but your video showed us everything we missed. Thanks for sharing. Safe travels! 👍🏼👍🏼

Emigrant is further than 10 yards from Yellowstone Park. Gardner is the entrance town.

Very interesting! We passed through Livingston in August 2021, going to and from YNP, and didn't see any of those beautiful views, because the entire area was blanketed by smoke from wildfires. Pretty sure I need to check out that BBQ restaurant next time!

Great job on filming and editing, Tom. Did you use a drone camera for your overhead shots? I love your choice of music.

Lots of great views! I always enjoy the expansive scenery out west. One tip... When using Teflon tape to seal a plumbing joint 12:40 wrap it in the direction of the threads, so that it won't unravel as you screw on the fitting.

Very interesting, Tom! Our neighbor in York would attend that church when they came to visit my family at a Westmoreland cottage from Methodist campmeeting days. Her husband would drive her to the turnpike, pull over and allow her to climb the stairs so she could worship at that church. I had no idea how beautiful it is or any of the history. Thank for sharing your adventures and the interesting history.
