Thank you for your podcast. So inspiring every time and thank you for sharing the makers of the world 🥰.
@@SolangeWiedemann so glad you’re enjoying it! 💕 Thank you for watching!
Do you know where you got your KNIT baseball cap? One of my friends has been searching for one. Thanks.
@@nancybarthold6796 Degen was selling them at the festival! I think they do drops on their site too :)
You met the best people and thanks for introducing us to them! I love that!
@@horsecrazysheila this community is filled with amazing people for sure! 💕
I wonder if that rigid mentality in the knitting community is a leftover product of wartime knitting propaganda, where knitting a certain way was considered patriotic or unpatriotic. I was watching this video (th-cam.com/video/XCQVJfEdO6k/w-d-xo.html) the other day that explained it more in depth. This sprung into my mind as you were discussing the topic. Whether it stems from a political agenda or not, it has got to go. Thanks for the informative podcast.
A very timely subject. I’ll bring this topic to our crochet & knit guild to help us all begin to understand how we might begin identifying ableism in our community, and how we can become more accessible. Thank you!
First I have a question…who is doing your thumbnails??? You should give them a raise and definitely don’t let them work for anyone else!!! They are beautiful. Oh and I love your shirt/sweater.💗💗💗
hahaha Thank you for the very kind message! It's me! I do them! :) -Jen
Beth, Kira and Jen - thank you so much. I learned from you and I appreciate your time and energy that you put forth to make this podcast!
Thank you for watching!
I really enjoyed this conversation sooo much! I hope to attend a future Sacred Sheep festival soon but had so much fun knitting the Sacred Sheep hat by Caitlin Hunter over these past few weeks. Had no idea the two are in some way tied together.
Hope to see you at an upcoming festival!
If there's one reason that I'd love to visit the US (besides the national parks), it's that you have such wonderful people in the yarn community, like Rachel and company, who not only create awesome yarn, but also create community. I hope you have fun at the festival!
Thanks for watching! Naybe we need to combine yarn and national parks at some point... 🤔
So interesting to hear about the goats!
I know, right?! They're such cool creatures!
This was a great discussion. In addition to font size for patterns, font size is also very important for websites and emails. I have found that some designers use very small hard to read font sizes for their emails and don't pay attention to contrast.
Thanks for opening my eyes to a topic I previously hadn’t thought much about…I’ll be actively adding adaptive/disabled maker to my searches. All of us belong in this creative space and should feel welcome ❤ Thanks, Jen, Beth and Kira. This series is great!
TU for sharing ❤❤❤
Another exquisite discussion you had with your guests, as always. ❤❤❤
Glad you enjoyed it! -Jen
Thank you for this excellent, important and lovely episode. It was a pleasure getting to know you all.🧶
Thanks for watching! ❤
Wow! Amy could talk about anything and I would listen. What a fabulous and engaging woman. Thoroughly enjoyed learning from her. 😊
I know, right?! She's so great!
Wow, thank you so much! You made my day. Amy
Great stories with Amy and Rachel! Fascinating!
Thank you for watching!
Thank you! Jen hosts an amazing podcast!
A great episode. I loved the story behind the wedding dress❤ I would definitely knit my own wedding dress if I'd get married today...🥂
Thank you for watching! <3
Right?! So beautiful!
This was wonderful! Just such a warm, cozy convo! ❤ I look forward to one day visiting BGS!
Really appreciated this episode and your conversation! The exercises will be so helpful.
Thank you for bringing us Flock! I love it so much and I’m hearing such great reviews from all the influencers! Here’s to next year!
Does anyone know what sweater pattern Jess is wearing? I've scoped Flock and La Mercerie's IG and not seeing a post with it. It's so cute!
Looks like the Alder Sweater by Rebecca Clow
@irmagabbard Well, then I'm consistent because I have that one in my queue and have loved every one I've seen - thank you!!
OMG, I was just telling a friend that there were so many attendees at Flock, and yet I did not once run into anyone rude! I hope it stays this way! It was a haven!
I loved visiting your shop earlier this year when I was in the area! I can’t believe you started it from your garage. What a lovely team and your fiber curation is top notch!
This was a delight! The JOY of yarn simply radiates from Jess!
Love love love these episodes! I have been munching through them whilst off sick in bed today!
Obsessed with your interviews! I am getting through them like a bag of potato chips! ❤
I can totally understand losing yourself in my motherhood but also losing your sense of purpose in your making. That happened to me when I went to art school. Luckily this sense of purpose came back when I started knitting and dying yarn which has also opened the door again to my sense of purpose to be artistic in other ways like drawing and grafic design.
Jess is SUCH a treasure! I am so so excited for everything that's happening for her. Thanks for showing us her shop!
I’m so excited to visit Bainbridge Island and see the shop
Great podcast!
TU for a wonderful, upbeat podcast❤
Enjoyed this episode and beautiful shop. Love to meet you at the Barcelona Festival on my list as well as the Flock Fiber Festival.

Watching from Cape Town, South Africa. Wishing everyone involved in the Festival abundant success!🎉❤
Love it! Yes, it's going to be a wonderful time! <3
Jess I appreciate all you have done for our knitting community! I can't wait to see you and experience your new updated FLOCK fiber festival. And I loved this interview Jen! The energy between you and Jess made my day as I am home not feeling well!
Thank you for watching! Jess is such a special human. See you at Flock! -Jen
I love that, “don’t push people to touch yarn!” Absolutely, stuff like that shouldn’t be happening at yarn festivals. I am down with the signs 😌😁
hahaha Maybe we can have a crafty sign making station next year ;)
I loved this interview!!!
💗
Now that was fun! So excited for you guys to have another successful Flock Festival! I think I smiled through this whole podcast!🎉
xoxoxo
;ove a good awkward, on edge and inspiring conversation by makers for makers, You two bounce off each other well and are admired for your verve and initiative for creative endeavours, Thanks Jen and Jess for sharing. Good luck with the festival and go well in your days.🙏♥🌏🐨xx
hahaha Thank you, Annie! -Jen
I call myself a Fiber Artist, as I am a crocheter.
I met Abi in VKL NY, and she was incredibly kind to me while I was waiting to introduce a friend to Jen, who was busy interviewing other people. Abi offered to give me a sign when the timing was right, and her help was truly invaluable. I also asked if I could film her stylish outfit, and she enthusiastically assisted me in finding other beautiful garments. Everything worked out well in the end, and my friend was successfully interviewed. I felt genuinely appreciated and understood by Abi and I'm truly grateful for her support. It's inspiring to see that she, as a fellow Latina, is challenging the system in such a positive manner. Thank you for being such a great role model, Abi!
Nourishing conversation. ❤❤❤
So glad you enjoyed it!
Beautiful conversation!
Thank you Debra :)
Jen! Thank you for introducing us to the wonderful Emily Botelho! She is a person who loves her craft, knows herself, and is so well spoken! I love what she had to say about how it is just so good to have failures in our life! You are a good one, Emily!
So glad you enjoyed it!
I'm looking forward to the Maker marketplace. A proper MAKER based market needs to return to the world.
Yesssss! 😃
I really enjoyed watching this today. I downloaded the app I believe for the Scared Sheep festival and then saw the past interview with Catherine of BGS. It is nice to learn more about Making and also you both. I look forward to seeing what is coming.
Thanks for watching! So stoked for all the things to come :)
